Does Tee Higgins play defense?

No but he tries to put help score more points than the Eagles can.

It's a thing called a touchdown.

He's missing 30 percent of his starters. Although, he has been missing about that same amount all season. Yet, we are 4-2 with an offense solidly in the top 10. Like I said, a bad time to be a "Hurts can only win with an elite offense" person. Although, a person with a complete lack of self awareness wouldn't realize it.

10th in completion percentage

11th in yards/attempt

26th in passing yards

24th in passing TDs

13th QB rating

18th in TDs scored

17th PPG

"Solidly top 10"

Keep trying buddy and you'll get it right one of these days

Let me know what stats you are looking at that puts them "solidly in the top 10", because the offense is 22nd in points.

We're 12th in DVOA and 10th in EPA/drive. We'd be higher if we could get any turnovers / Nick not losing his mind in week 2-3.

And yet still not "solidly top 10" by most metrics outside of strictly rushing

This is a borderline top 10 offense for sure.

One of the better things we do is control TOP to protect our defense. Our offense helps out our D significantly more than the other way around.

My view is that the question of Hurts is really secondary to Sirianni at this point.  Absent an injury, Hurts is going to be the starter.  He has a demonstrated upside I don't think the other QBs on the team have shown.  If he has the skills to be a top QB, the question will answer itself.

Problem is he's played like an MVP before and has A LOT of weapons now

So wtf is the reason?

I wonder why DVOA and EPA/drive don't end up on the scoreboard.  🤔

Borderline because we have a dynamic running game, not because Hurts is lighting it up through the air.

This offense should have the ability to be top 3 if not the best in the league

How does the offense help out the defense by not scoring any points in the 1st quarter and repeatedly going 3 and out?

We get less drives and short fields than other teams (defense, special teams). I do agree with the premise that we should still be better.

Here are some more stats:

Points per play: 21st

EPA/dropback: 16th

Like I said, the offense is "borderline" top 10 because our running game. Nothing about it outside of rushing is solidly top 10.

QB play is holding it back

Nothing would make me happier than Hurts throwing for 400 yards and 5 TDs.

That's because @mikemack8 hasn't surprised you at 3 am with the rectal dilator yet.

The defense won us both the Saints and Browns game while completely dismantling the Giants.

They've had their bad games, too, but they've certainly done their share as well

EPA/drive >>> points/play. Points/play punishes short-yardage conversions.

Some positive passing-only stats
EPA vs. blitz: 6th
EPA with no pressure: 7th
Air yards/attempt: 7th
20+ completions: 9th
YAC/completion: 9th

The passing offense is currently not good enough to win a SB, but it's not so broken that we can't win games now and not hope for improvement.

And actually scoring points and passing for actual yards >>> "expected results"

Yes, and we're better on points/drive than points/play.

Not in the first quarter at least.  Not with this team.

Correct and still 17th in actual PPG

Thanks

I wonder how much Howie and Lurie have soured on Hurts since the beginning of last year. Virtually all x's and o's guys have come out saying Hurts is not playing well and the dumbing down of the offense is probably on him. I'd imagine they can't be happy having a QB who needs his offense nerfed for him.
