Amazing that shots are now 16-12 after how horrendous that first period was.

Hart again.  C'mon guys, help your goalie out.

Good pressure this period. Only a matter of time before they net one.

How the hell do the Flyers still have no goals

Because they haven't gotten one past the goalie.

Well the islanders goalie has stopped all the shots.

Varlamov having a nice game. Flyers playing much better just a better wall in front of the net right now. If they keep this up theyll eventually get 1 and hopefully get 2 but i expect some OT game 1 boys

Going to be pretty disappointing if they don’t score one this period with how they’ve dominated.

Yup. They're really putting it on now, islanders are just sitting in the middle of the slot trying to keep shots to the outside and survive

Damn.  They are peppering the net and outworking the Islanders this period, but still no goal.  They're on the right path, so need to keep it up.  If they keep this level of energy going then once they score the dam should break for them.  That 1st one is the toughest.

Now the Islanders fighting back and getting some pressure. Thank god for Hart.

I’m actually surprised with how much attack time we’ve had this period the islanders haven’t picked up a penalty trying to survive the onslaught

Was just thinking the same. Be nice to get a look at what the power play is goin this to look like this series...

Giroux shoots it right into his chest 😂

Right? he finally gets an excellent opportunity. Shoots it straight into the goalie

Well no ish. What do you expect from him? He hasn’t shot the puck in months.

He just needs to imagine he’s putting a cross ice pass on the net.

Dominated that period and couldn’t get one. Have to keep the same pace going into the third.

One thing I’ve notice is that they’re not quick on the rush out of the defensive zone. I think I figured it out.

the rushing players are too busy waiting for the cross ice pass instead of rushing up the ice.

This has been their best offensive period since the real playoffs started.

Agreed. And it’s a bit demoralizing to dominate a period so much and come away without a single goal.

That wasn’t a joke by the way.

I’m dead serious. They wait for the pass before they move.

Much, much better period offensively to say the least.  That sustained puck control and pressure should pay off if they keep it rolling into the 3rd.

Yeah but keep that pace, i have faith they’ll bury one.

Giroux's problem that is just glaring in the playoffs is that he is not even close to as aggressive as he used to be. He used to be a dog, storm into the zone on his own and try to dangle around an entire defense, finishing checks. Don't see him do that really at all anymore, and its just more obvious in the playoffs because it seems like everyone else is doing it but him.

Its like he forgot he had hands and a shot, and he thinks all he can do is pass

They Have to stop trying to make the extra perfect pass. Get to good spots and fire

Have you seen me?

Well this was the Flyers Good PeriodTM.

Looking forward to them getting shellacked one the third. Or scoring a goal and seeing the Isles scoring thirty seconds later.

Good to see AV playing his greatest hits. I was worried I wouldn’t see him getting bailed out by goaltending.

Frankly I think it’s gonna be a very frustrating series in general because I feel like both teams it’s gonna be like this and very little low scoring.

So you’re saying to shoot the puck high?

I definitely don’t suggest the giroux method of shooting.
