Standing up to a lunatic bully is fine, but you can do that with issues that are way over the top, for instance Greenland and tariffs.

It'll be at that point that we officially lose every ally, NATO will be dead, and we'll become the common enemy of the rest of the world. We'll see every nation immediately flock to China and Russia for strategic military and economic partnerships.
