I am shocked they chose the Buccaneers and the commanders for the Sunday night game. I thought for sure the Eagles Packers or bills Denver would take one of the primetime games and the other would go to the ravens and the Steelers.

Pretty sure every year they've had a MNF WC game, it's been the 5 vs 4 seed game. Is there a logistical reason I'm not thinking of?

Absolutely, when Jeff called me, I suggested hiring Nick, starting Hurts over Wentz and when he called me last year for my approval, I gave the go ahead for signing Barkley. He wanted a cut of our Amazon Link revenue to help pay his salary, but I held firm and said no.

Until I could no longer get Merrill and Mike on WIP's website, I hadn't gone there at all either but starting this season, I couldn't get the game broadcast directly on WIP. But I could get it on PE.COM. So that's the only reason that I've been over there since they shut the old EMB down.

And Collinsworth explains why Tampa got the SNF slot... That guy has way too much pull.  Even got his son a gig working for SNF.

whelp last time rams played mnf they won sb..in 2021 season 1 and 2 seed nfc teams lost divisional round

Most likely to have a shorter rest for matchup with the well rested 1 seed.

4/5 never will be host cities in the divisional round, so it gives an extra day to plan for the city that is hosting. As well as the NFL planning everything else out like broadcast team, officials, etc.

Why did he say, I was in the other room and missed it? I assume that CBS since they were losing out on ravens/Steelers that they wanted Josh Allen. And Fox was like we much rather have Eagles/Packers than commanders/Buccaneers. NFC 4/5 on MNF was least surprising based off history.
