That's a crazy turnaround from what they initially thought

Depends on how well he can stil cut on it. Maybe the 3rd opinion was the right move, maybe it's just good enough to be effective but surgery is still needed long-term if he tears more of it. Risky bet but any contribution is better than nothing I suppose.

So, here's an interesting question I was pondering -- if you're a team like the Patriots or Raiders with a ton of cap space and no real chance to compete the next 2 years, would you consider taking on Deshaun Watson's contract for a boatload of picks from the Browns? You'd be assuming cap numbers of $72.935mm in 2025 and 2026, and then $26.9mm in 2027 after his contract expires (you could also restructure to push more money into 2027). If you're Las Vegas, with $112mm in cap space for 2025, do you ask for 2 1sts, 2 2nds and some more to take that contract off the Browns' hands? Is there any price and would the Browns pay it?

I guess the question really is do the Browns think they can compete with him gone and cap space to add players? The answer is likely no. But we saw a much smaller version of this with Osweiler. I think it's only a matter of time until teams try to use draft picks to dump bad contracts.

Not a chance in hell. His contract is fully guaranteed. You're going to take him and do what? Sit him on the bench and pay him $92mil for some draft picks?

Watch more of the Lions games and then get back to me with that comparison. He's far more than a "hot name".

Ben Johnson has done a great job with an offense that has probably the most talent in the League.  It's not like he's working miracles with dregs.

That offense doesn't have more talent than the Eagles.

Clown show.

Reminds me of the Eagles with Doug.

If it wasn't already known before, Hurts is playing.

Maybe they will trade the 2nd pick for Sirianni.  Siranni is a part of the Belichick tree by way of Todd Haley.

Waiving Book is interesting. There isn't an immediate need with a guy coming off IR (unless its Bradberry or Young) and Practice Squad elevations are unlimited know. With the 22 starters healthy, there really isn't a need to sign someone from the PS to the active roster, but I guess that would be the move unless there is some mystery signing. Maybe it will be Blasingame.

Goff has been a far more efficient and effective passer this season than Hurts.  I would take Gibbs and a health Montgomery over Barkley and Gainwell.  They have a pass catching trio of Williams, St. Brown and LaPorta.  I think the talent is pretty close to AJ, Devonta and Goedert.  They were more productive and healthier than the Eagles.  Their o-line is solid with 2 elite players in Ragnow and Sewell. They are very talented.

Seems like Embiid making a short sighted decision that will cost him and his team

You are grossly under rating Ben and our roster

we have more talent at every position on offense except maybe TE

Goff is better than Hurts, but to get an idea of how much of an impact Johnson has made, look at the production from Goff (and the offense as a whole) in '21 under Anthony Lynn, vs the years since Johnson has taken over. It's not a coincidence he started playing so much more efficiently starting in '22. Talent is obviously important, but sharp coordinators and a robust scheme is a huge part of it too.

But Hurts is still in concussion protocol and won’t play Sunday!!! We are doomed!!!!!!!!!!! 😂

Different types of QB's.  The way to slow Goff down is to knock him around.  He doesn't like the heat.

Hurts has bailed out of a clean pocket many times

Easier said than done against their OL. They also use screens as good as maybe any other offense so if you start to get too blitz heavy, they're bound to catch you with your pants down and rip off 30-40 yds on a screen / swing to Gibbs.

True.  Gibbs just had a monster game.

That may be true about Goff, but I saw enough of him on Sunday as he had complete mastery against the Vikings. The Vikings threw a lot of stuff at him from zero blitzes to soft zones and he just had guys open over all the place. Then to throw in a really good running game on top of that. I don't think the Lions offense is stoppable. The Eagles have to get enough pressure with 4 men and keep everything in front of them. At least Goff can't be counted on to take off and gouge the defense, like how Jayden Daniels/ Bryce Young kept cranking out big plays in critical situations.

The Eagles D are going to have to count on some turnovers and holding them to a few FG's on their drives.

More importantly, the Eagles Offense will be the key to such a game as it must score TDs and not settle for FGs, as well as no turnovers or back breaking penalties. It can be done though.

 No qb does

but he doesnt panic and bail like Hurts does
