Well he never learned how to put arc on a deep ball until TO got here…

I actually think Jeff Blake deserves some credit for McNabb learining to throw a better deep ball.  He was the back up when TO got to the team. McNabb's deep ball started resembling how Blake threw it.  It's undeniable that McNabb would have been much better with better talent at WR earlier in his career.

I guess.  He'd be in the Griese / Bradshaw wing of the building.

Super Bowl wins matter in the NFL HOF as compared to the MLB HOF where it is all about stats.

And 1 hour later.

More time for Hurts to recover from his concussion.

Sure.  It probably drags some players in that wouldn't belong otherwise.

But do you think a lack of championships has kept out worthy players?

Wut

Well I missed it then.

I looked on Sunday after the date/time was known and I coulda swore I saw tomorrow.

Damn

Much less of an issue but I think there are some examples out there.  I imagine Eric Allen would be in the HOF if the Eagles had a SB victory back in his day.

Anyone know what face value is for an upper level playoff ticket?

@FranklinFldEBUpper would know.

I don't think that was a TO influence.  I think that was the influence of Jeff Blake... who came here as the 3rd QB for the 2004 season.   Blake actually had a great deep ball throughout his career.

I was curious, so I followed up on this.  Below are the HOF quarterbacks on the teams that were around when the Super Bowl started (some have more than one).  All but three franchises, Philly, Giants, and Cardinals, have a HOF QB.  Eli will be there soon for the Giants and I could count Paddy Driscoll from the 1920's for the Cardinals.

These are generally the best QBs in their respective franchise's histories.  Will Hurts ever really belong with these names?

You don't count Norm Van Brocklin and Sonny Jurgenson as Eagles?!   They were both on the 1960 team.

Someone like you wouldn't need to purchase a ticket.  Just tell them at the gate who you are and they'll ask you where you'd like to sit.

Both were only starters here for three seasons.  Van Brocklin had 6 Pro Bowls in 8 years with the Rams before coming here.  Jurgenson only had one good season here before getting 4 Pro Bowls in DC.

If this were like the baseball HOF, where the players choose the cap they wear, neither would be wearing an Eagles cap.

True, but it isn't like the baseball HOF.  So, the Eagles have had HOF QBs, just not ones that played primarily for the Eagles, though they got 'Hall of Fame' production from both during their brief time here.  The better question is what was the team thinking when they traded Jurgenson for Snead?!

Interesting age factoid: Of all the playoff QBs to start over 11 games and throw for under 3,000 yards, Hurts is both the youngest and oldest.

Here's some good nuggets on the 14 QBs in the playoffs.  Despite being among the youngest QBs in the playoffs, Hurts has the 7th most playoff starts.  Despite playing in what was essentially just 14 games this season, Hurts has the 7th most total TDs of the QBs in the playoffs which is the 3rd highest TD per game rate among the QBs in the playoffs.

The point of the exercise wasn't assigning HOF QBs to teams.  RTK was lauding Hurts for his eventual ascension to the best QB in franchise history.  I first argued that it isn't that big of a deal given the competition within our franchise.  I then used HOF as a proxy for the greatness of other team's best QB in franchise history to further illustrate my point.

STOP USING TOTAL TDS!!!!

I am not a Hurts Hater.  He does a very good job of what he is being asked to do here.  We win because of him, not with him, and he can lead us to a Super Bowl.  But you insult the intelligence of everyone else here by mixing TD passes with 2-foot sneaks into the endzone.

This team's history with QBs is poor, no doubt.  And Hurts still has a long way to pass even McNabb and Jaws.  And in terms of 'best seasons' by a QB in an Eagles' uniform, he's got a long way to go to pass either Van Brocklin or Jurgenson.  Maybe one day he will.

They didn't even know the date and time last Thursday.  Seemed to make sense they would go on sale some time this week.

Probably.  I'm basically their best scout.

No, I'm sorry.  Im not going to just because people like you that try to discredit is impact at every turn demand that I don't.  We consistently see other teams struggle to grt into the endzone once they get close.  We saw it many times from Minnesota this past weekend.  We've even seen the Eagles try to get Barkley TDs down by the galling and he gets stuffed routinely short of the endzone.  Hurts is the greatest QB sneak QB the league has seen and not even all of his rushing TDs are sneaks.

49ers might as well just go to a temp agency to find their next DC.  That organization was successful for a few years almost in spite of themselves.

Great power rb.  He’s our Mike Alstott.  And the Bucs won a SB with Alstott.

What time is practice today?
