Not to mention that Baun hasn't much that money compared to many others at all in his career.   This is his one and likely only shot to really hit big.  He's at about $8M gross over his career... which means he likely only got about $4M in actual pay.  He's not set for life on that unless he invests it very smartly and doesn't live like a millionaire.

My gut feel is that Baun isnt going to have a big ego and think he is going to go get money and continue being a pro bowl player elsewhere. He said he laughed when that clause was in his contract. He seems self aware enough to realize what his career was, and what it became in Philly. The role that specifically, Philly played in getting him where he is today. This personnel. This defensive scheme. This defensive coordinator.

I dont think he assumes he can just go anywhere and be this good.

I think he and Becton are in the same boat. You saw Becton's tears of joy reflecting on where he was, and where he is now. They know Philly is where its at.

I think we get a discount on both of them.

And for all the talk about which of the 4 to keep, I think we can keep them all.

But Becton and Baun are the locks.

The other 2 depends on which angle you look at it from. Milton Williams is the guy Howie will want to keep, more than Sweat. But Milton is in line for the better pay day and may prove most difficult/least likely to stay. On the other hand, Sweat is probably the lowest priority of the 4 for Howie. So maybe that makes him least likely to stay. Then again, I think he can be fairly affordable as a mid-tier starter with a contract that reflects that.

I think it’s easy to say in the abstract. And also easy to say when all you look at are the gross earnings.

Keep in mind he’ll be lucky to take home 40% of gross after taxes, agent and management fees, etc.

The Navy just switched to a form of advancement for senior enlisted where in order to advance you have to pick new orders. I would rather stay at my current rank in a place I enjoy than make rank and getting sent somewhere I don't want to be. Again, I have no sympathy for any pro athlete. Half of his gross is more than ill make in my life, my TSP might get to a million by the time I can start drawing from it and I've been putting into it for 12 years.

My hype video is completed.  It is a master work.

The difference for Baun is likely to be $2-$3 million per year, over 4 years.

For $10 million extra bucks, would you move to another city for a few years?

And the $10 million will probably be eliminated as a difference with endorsements (NIL?) revenue.  Both will get significantly more of that In Philadelphia than in a new city.

Disagree.

If you bring in a high end back, you’d be reducing Barkley’s workload and probably let Gainwell walk.

Of course that would happen but AJ wouldn’t exactly be getting the targets he needs to be an All-Pro WR.

You may very well be right, but I never assume a home town discount.  All things being equal, he likely stays.  But, if a team offers a significantly higher guaranteed number, he could be tempted to take it for the security it might offer.   We'll know soon enough I guess.

What NIL endorsements do you foresee Zach Baun getting?

I can confirm that is definitely one of the videos of all time.

@BigEFly I would LOVE for the NFL to offer this view for games. I would watch every game from this angle with no commentary. Granted, I sync up the TV with the Eagles radio broadcast, but this would be a gamechanger.

How do you sync up the broadcasts?  I would love to do that

It's to an area no one watching would expect in the final 3 minutes.  Gets you hyped, gets you amped up.

I understand your thinking, but he would be wasted here.  We wouldn't use him enough/properly.

I would love to think that is not true.  But you are probably right.

Use the sirius xm app and youtubetv. pause whichever is ahead and you're good to go.

Well here’s Franklin’s coaching at it’s finest

Did someone tell Franklin this was a big game during the halftime?

Can’t say I didn’t see this coming

Carter gets held on every single play

One of my favorite marching band riffs is when PSU's band plays the theme from the Right Stuff on defense.

. Abdul Carter is a better pass rusher with one arm than Bryce Huff.    He's the one guy from this PSU team I'd love to see be drafted here, but he'll be long long long gone by the time the Eagles are on the clock.

He’ll be top 3 for sure

Let's start some rumors... find a video of him wearing a gas mask bong... whatever it takes.

In a hurry to punt it back to ND
