Question -  Say Deion somehow ends up getting the job in Dallas, is his first big move to put together a blockbuster to move up to land Shedeur ?

Oh, I hope it is!

And did they even try to go with a 2 headed monster the next year?   No.  So, did they learn the lesson that I am talking about or a very different one?  Seems to me its an apples to oranges comparison.

The Titans didn't try to find a second guy to team up with Henry or Johnson, though they had the guy in the building... but waived him.   After the 2010 draft, they signed LaGarrette Blount as an UDFA.  But, they waived him before the first game, and he was picked up by Tampa where he went on to have a 1k yard season.   Whoops.  That was the way that the Titans could have fixed their issue, but they didn't see it.   After Henry's 2k season they added Brian Hill.  If you are wondering who that is... you aren't alone.  He never suited up for them for a single game and spent 2021 on IR.

I am hoping that the Eagles are smarter than that.

I’m hoping that Eagles are smarter than that too,  I know who Brian Hill is. he played at Wyoming. That said their 2021 roster of RBs according to pro football reference was Henry, Donta foreman, AP (3 games), hillard and Jeremy mcnichols

Imo they really should be trying to figure out  from 2022 to 2023 to 2024 why our pass offense has gotten to this point and fix it.

The game will always be somewhat cyclical in that when the NFL became more of a pass heavy league, coaches reacted by utilizing LBs who are more adept at defending the pass.  The natural counteraction to that is for offenses to attack those smaller, lighter, more agile LBs in the running game, where they’re less likely to hold up.

It’s also currently true that, of the remaining 8 playoff teams, the Eagles are the only one without a starting quarterback drafted in the first round.  In fact, 6 of those other 7 QBs were top 10 draft picks.

Yes indeed. I think it is quite obvious.

$104 million dead cap for Dallas if they trade Dak.

What if they release him as a post June 1? Not that it would happen. Just curious

McKee should be our backup in 2025, even if that means trading Pickett. I'm frankly disappointed Pickett is our backup now.

Agreed.

Move on from Pickett, McKee as the primary backup, and bring in a more talented reclamation project or draft pick to coach up.

This coordinator interview ish during the playoffs needs to be put under control. You should not be able to interview anyone currently under contract with a team while the season is still going on. Sure the Eagles could deny the request, but why make the team screw their employee out of a potential job?

All teams should have to wait until the day after the Super Bowl, otherwise they can talk to people who aren't under contract with another team. This puts everyone on the same playing field regardless of when their season ends. All this does is F playoff teams when their coordinators get 40 interviews during the playoffs  and get poached after their season ends while all the desired coordinators are taken by teams who were out months ago

Correct.  AND... it might actually cause teams to think twice before dumping a coach quickly.

I hope so!

But I think it’s more likely that Shedur makes it known he will only play for Dallas, and I think a lot of GMs will be relieved to have an excuse to pass on him, which allows Dallas to make a "reasonable” trade up for him.

I guess they could try a post June 1st trade where they have the agreement was made prior and the transaction just doesn’t  take place til after 6/1. Don’t think it’s remotely likely or realistic.

Why would they need permission?

Not sure why he worded it like that. Eagles can't block it, so maybe he means they "requested" it from Kellen himself, based on his availlability or some ish. Who knows.

Why do these have to be mutually exclusive?   This team has no need to change the personnel to improve the passing game, unless they want to upgrade the QB.  They have the OL, the TE, and the WR to do it.  So, its either the QB or the OC/HC combo.

But, since they already have the pieces in place for the passing game... they can address the backup RB position with the roster moves... and they could have both.

Probably not discussed because its Wednesday and it will change 10x before kickoff. Even if does snow its also supposed to rain so that not even an inch of snow wont be anything

Up to 70% chance with 75 hours to go until kickoff.  😆

Damn, 91.

I'll mostly remember him for two things: Major League and the bits Norm would do about him on late night shows

They don’t have to be mutual exclusive. I’d say becton might not be back and @vikas83 has talked about Goedert’s contract is a sticky situation this offseason (I’ll let him discuss it cause he knows more about cap stuff and everything that goes along with it).

I dont see them moving on from Qb this offseason. Financially too difficult until 2026 and currently don’t know how this season finishes out. So it would have to be OC. If they wanted to make a move there it would benefit them for Moore to be hired as a HC. Don’t think it’s impossible they fire him. but I’d be surprised if he’s not back if he doesn’t get a HC job.

Not after June 1st.

Take cheap shots early on Stafford, break him
