You'd think you would know that should they win it will be their 5th SB appearance...or 4th if we're talking just from 2000 onward.

Carry on though, super fan!

Bad addition lol and not enough coffee, but point still remains, these have been great years, even decades.

It’s not even close for me. I’m 43. I don’t know if it’s an age thing, but Dawkins was so much more impactful for me as a football fan growing up.  Let me know when a safety like Dawkins ever exists again in the NFL. It probably can’t happen. I love Kelce. He is probably 1st ballot HOF, but what’s funny is we haven’t skipped a beat with Cam Jurgens.

I love Kelce, he’s unquestionably #2 on my all time Eagles list. But Dawkins is the reason I became an Eagles fan

Well there is probably a reason for such a big smile on his face.....

Let's be honest about the Rams game. The Eagles beat a good Rams team who outside of 3 big TD runs, kind of shut the Eagles down. The Eagles lived by the big play on offense, and clutch plays on defense.

On offense, they gave up 7 sacks, went 0-2 in the RZ, missed 2 XP and gave up a safety. 4 points given away by the offense.

They ran 63 plays.

-3 TD runs totaled 184 yards.

-the other 60 plays netted162 yards, averaging 2.7 yards per play.

-Saquon also only averaged 2.7 ypc on the non TD runs. 24 carries for 65 yards.

On defense, they were outgained by the Rams by 50 yards, gave up 300 yards passing, 100 yards rushing and nearly a 100 yard WR. However, the Eagles forced 2 fumbles and made the big plays when it mattered.

I'd say overall, the Eagles played a C+ game in crappy weather and still came away with the win.

The Redskins are not as good as the Rams. The field and weather will be night and day compared to the Rams game. If Jalen Hurts is good to go and the Eagles play just B level football, they should have no problem winning this game.

That's why home runs are more valuable than singles. It's also why the entire premise of the Fangio defense is to not give up the big play, because big plays and not 1st downs lead to points.

Yeah…I was looking at the Rams forum and a few people said the obvious.  "If it wasn’t for those long runs, we played well on D”.

I’m sorry, but that’s sort of like saying "besides the tornadoes, the weather was great”

Is Huff not even good enough to eat a few snaps to keep the edges fresh?

I'm going to disagree with your characterization of the way the Eagles used the running game.  The Eagles running game is very much like a heavyweight boxing match.  You could say that the fight swings on landing that one heavy punch at the end of the 10th round that causes the knock out, but the truth is that all the body blows leading up to it are ultimately what caused it.

Barkley had 26 carries for 206... (and he had the psychological effect of 255 from their previous meeting).   The Rams' fear of Barkley is what primarily caused the huge run by Hurts.  The Eagles rightly anticipated that all eyes would be on Barkley early and they got the Rams overcommitted to him, and Hurts sprung free for a long gain.

But, the running game remained effective.  It's not one that we'd all be talking about if not for those long runs, but those 24 carries were body blows where big people beat up little people helping to spring the long runs.  That's just how this offense works.  It's bully ball.  So, to discount those runs that actually create the long ones is just disingenuous.  It wasn't a question of IF they'd get a long run, it was always a question of WHEN they'd get a long run, and how many.  The answer is: 3.  Two early, one late.

Now, the passing game, on the other hand, was dismal.  No getting around that.  BUT, the running game, as its been pretty much all year, along with the defense are good enough to keep the game in reach, and/or keep the opponent at arm's reach.

The last Three Home Philadelphia NFC Championships:

2004 - Eagles 27 Falcons 10

2017 - Eagles 38 Vikings 7

2022 - Eagles 31 49ers 7

Eagles PPG: 32

OPP PPG: 8

The crowd was nuts in all these games.  The Philly Faithful need to be out in full force this Sunday.

I much prefer an offensive coach that hires a good DC than the other way around for some reason.

Glad that Sunday looks to be precipitation free and even a touch warmer.  In our two frigid playoff games, Hurts has really looked like he's got a Koy Detmer arm ( @RememberTheKoy).

When you don't have much arm strength to lose, it might disproportionately affect you in the cold when everyone loses some and is throwing a flatter ball.

I'm terrified of reduced mobility, but if better weather gives us back the ability to at least pretend we can throw the ball beyond the sticks on 3rd down, it will work wonders for the offense.

The some reason is sustainability.  Any offensive coach who enjoys success is instantly out the door for a promotion.  DC's get HC jobs too, but it's less likely and takes longer, so you'll have a longer run with them.

I think the Commanders are, by far, the worst of those teams.  The 2004 Falcons are the best comp though.

These Eagles, however, are not a blowout kind of team.  They have cruised past some really good teams, notably the Ravens.  We all know what the Eagles can't do well, and it somewhat prevents jumping all over a team and piling it on in a laugher.

I'm expecting a typical 2024 Eagles regular season win.  Look like the much better team, be the better team, win the game....but everyone ends up thinking it was closer than it should have been and the team didn't play their best game.  We'll dissect that, and everyone will call us crazy for dissecting it because the Eagles are going to the superbowl.

It seems they love to let us sweat a little at home this year.  I think only the Cowboys game was a blowout, everything else not so much.  Yet we are a easy Saquon catch away from being undefeated at Home.   But the last three Home NFC Title Games felt like a breeze, no stress at all.    We got up early on the Falcons and never let off the gas.  After that pick on the Vikings, we slaughtered them.   Defense completely took over the 49ers game.    If we can get to a quick lead, and Defense takes over.  I think it can be another dominating performance.  Before Jalen went down, the Eagles were dominating Washington.  Saquon had 100 yards in the 1st Quarter.  We put up 21 points.   Remember the Defense got 5 Turnovers.  Pickett came in cold and held it together but it was way to many FG's. If Jalen played one of those turnovers would have been a TD.   Despite that, Smitty makes the catch and the Eagles are 15-0 right now going into the NFC Championship.

Which throws are you referring to?

You've been so insanely over the top with the anti-Hurts stuff I think you're making up your own narrative.  I can't remember a single throw that he didn't have the strength to make.

His mistakes have been slow reactions to pressure, that's pretty much it.

That Hunt guy and an interior guy lined up as edge seem to be better options

Hunt has been really good, no doubt a better option.  But there is still room for more help and rest in there.

When was the last time he made a throw on a line, not a rainbow, that traveled more than 10 yards...

Things that went wrong in the last meeting vs. the Redskins:

1. Hurts getting hurt (and make no mistake, Luvu absolutely tried to hurt him when Hurts was already down)

2. CJGJ - Getting tossed for using bad words

3. Multiple penalties called against the Eagles for roughing that were just ridiculous

4. Pickett having to come in cold, no practice and trying to hold down the fort

5. All this, and the Devonta drop - If he holds on to that catch, even with all of that crap above, the Eagles still win this game.

Washington acted like they won the Super Bowl, they talked all kinds of crap.....I honestly so wanted them in the opening round and was disappointed we had to play Green Bay.  Well, it time for the reckoning.....I want a Curb Stomping of the Commanders.  Like 38-10 where the game is never in doubt.  Add in, having Malaita take a running 20 yard head start and put his helmet into Luvu's back for good measure.

Yeah, no, I disagree.  The Eagles controlled all of the game save the last four minutes.  We had a number of other plays that went for good yardage.  It wasn't only those three plays.

You can also make the case that the Rams had three passes of over 35+ yards.  All great catches.  Also, there were three times the Eagles should have intercepted Stafford, two missed extra points, and four pts off the board due to Lane's penalty on the tush push.

The throw to Smitty last week wasn't a rainbow.  The throw to AJ was like 40 yards and perfect.

You're one of these fans who is obsessed with the aesthetics when there's really been no need to make contested throws at all, and the Eagles just keep winning and winning
