Ehh I don't know about that. There were a lot of people that complained that they did not run the ball enough.

Yes but McNabb would be getting slaughtered if he was putting up Hurts numbers in the playoffs. Absolutely slaughtered! I don’t care how good the running game would have been.

I wasn’t talking about Moore’s actual production. The post was about perception. They said no one complained. They definitely complained.

I am agreeing with you and used production as an added ingredient.

McNabb got slaughtered no matter what.  I can't count how many times I saw "wormburners" posted on the board back then.   I was talking with my boss who's a Bills fan, and I told him how many Eagles fans whine about Hurts numbers. He replied "I don't care about Allen's stats, I just want him to win." Which is funny, because Allen had a similar game to Hurts Sunday.  Hurts could throw for 160 yds in a super bowl win, and some of the fans here would just complain about his yards instead of celebrating the SB win.

I keep seeing people tweet stuff like this thinking they have some gotcha you dumb Eagles fans for wanting a passing game.

I think the overall frustration or complaint is the investment in the passing game for it to be absolutely middle of the road and a QB who continually takes sacks. We're also being told that what we are seeing from Jalen Hurts is great and not to question it. How dare we have questions or better yet, complaints about a stagnant passing game. (reminds me of Covid. DON'T question anything). If you don't like the Eagles passing game and think Jalen Hurts needs to be better, that means you're a hater or better yet a boob.

Jalen Hurts ranks 18th in attempts per game, 20th in yards per game, 17th in TDs but ranks 11th in sacks taken (7th in sack yards). He's 100% an average NFL quarterback who happens to run well but also takes an above average number of sacks. That's it, that's the truth. No need to put him on a pedestal and pretend he's incredible. He isn't. He's a game managing QB, who doesn't take risks.

AJ Brown- 3rd highest paid WR. 25th in average targets per game and 30th in total catches

DeVonta Smith- 11th highest paid WR. 37th in average targets per game and 28th in total catches.

Dallas Goedert- 5th highest paid TE. 14th in average targets per game and 27th in catches (yes he's hurt a lot).

Yes, both Smith and Brown missed 4 games, but those numbers are still ridiculously low given their talent and investment. Puka Nacua missed 6 games and is 19th in catches. Malik Nabers and CeeDee Lamb both missed 2 games but are 3rd and 5th in catches.

What's the point in spending $170 million in WR and $60 million at TE. if you aren't going to use them. This is 100% the case of having a Ferrari and driving in 45 in the right lane with your blinkers on.

The Eagles have nearly half a billion dollars ($482 million) wrapped up in Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert. Damn right I want a better passing game.

He's playing with fire. Trevor Lawrence vs. Texans comes immediately to mind. One of these days, his little late pull up is going to leave him exposed to a life changing injury.

Just have Sydney Brown Missile Launch on the first time he does that sideline crap...whoops, 15 yards but well worth it.

If it wins a Super Bowl or has gotten the team to the NFCCG at least twice, does it really matter where the cap is being spent?

Let me ask you, would you be more upset with all those players putting up better numbers in a loss?

I don't care what Puka, Lamb, or Nabers did over the season. None of those players are in a position right now to win a SB.

You act like you cutting the checks. Just enjoy the wins and stop crying lol

If i was a coach, i'd be telling my guys to play through the whistle no matter what.  You know you're going to take flags anyway, make them count. Not saying be dirty, but that Lawrence hit is the perfect example of a QB who tried to use a rule to protect himself a little too late. Don't play into it. (yes i know Al-Shaair is a dirty player, but the hit itself i have no issue with)

That's a great conversation to have and in the grand scheme of things, yes SB Championship is all that matters.

However, we're still allowed to point out things that are obvious and true. The Eagles are spending a TON of money to have an average passing game. If they win a SB this year, there's going to be 1/2 of the people saying it's because of Jalen Hurts (and if you don't agree, you're a hater) and another half saying they won it in spite of Jalen Hurts when the truth is, if they win the SB this year (the same way they are currently playing) it's because of the OL, Saquon Barkley and the defense with Jalen Hurts in the Trent Dilfer role.

If it's clear as day that Jalen Hurts is an average NFL QB, and the Eagles passing game is middle of the road, we should be allowed to say that without being called bad fans or haters. I think that's just part of modern social media culture though. If you don't openly support or love something or someone, it makes you a hater.

No one hates Jalen Hurts. We just want better. We've seen better.

I'm definitely in the camp that Hurts needs to do better, like, a lot better.

Context matters and you need to look across the league at what teams are spending. People just look at the numbers and see $170 million, $250 million, etc. The fact is those players will most likely not see the full value of that contract. You need to look at the cap as a ratio game. AJ Brown has the 13th highest cap hit this season, and DeVonta is 23rd. These are not top dollar contracts.

You could be spending the most on WRs like the Dolphins and not be in the playoffs. AJ Brown and DeVonta's cap hit combined is still lower than Tyreek Hill.

Another part of the argument that is left out is that when people such as yourself say he's an "average QB," it's based entirely on passing and completely ignores leading an offense. This is not a pass heavy offense and in such, Hurts is a very good QB. Passing isn't the only responsibility. It's not like we're running a wishbone offense, but the one we do run actually relies heavily on the run and at the end of the year, like it has been the last few, Hurts will be ranked among the top 100 players in the NFL according to his peers --- because he's a very good QB, despite not being a top 10 passer. Some people simply don't like this style of QB and they don't count what they don't like in the equation.

Just watched the week 16 game to see what happened in the 2nd half.  Daniels made some very nice plays for sure but there were two plays that killed us. First, the 4th and 11 scramble where the Dline lost all discipline on the rush.  Let's hope they learned their lesson.  Second, blown coverage on Zachius for the long TD.  It wasn't like the D was getting gashed.

One thing that also stood out was that we blitzed a lot.  Usually one extra rusher but sometimes two. Daniels beat it on occasion but also made some errant throws.  I wouldn't be surprised if Vic blitzes a good bit on Sunday.  Need to stay in our lanes and not go past Daniels.

I think the defensive tackles wreck this game and send them to the Super Bowl. Carter, Williams, Davis, Ojomo. Roseman has to be salivating at that potential scenario based on how he drafted from 2021-2023 with those guys. I hope they go off. I’m not saying that was his "master plan” but he’s always loved the big guys and he hit on all of them given their roles.

A good assessment of where things stand.  Worth the 12 minute watch.

I've said it before and I'll say it a thousand times, I would love for one player to just say F it. Take the fine, take the suspension. Put mahomes into another Fing planet when he does that fairy dance on the sidelines. Sean Taylor vs Brian Moorman in the pro bowl. That dude needs to have his soul taken and the fear of God instilled

Still talking about Hurts' ability/inability to throw instead of enjoying NFC Championship week?

I believe if you count as well we either had 12 or 10 players on zachs td. I believe it was 12 so there was confusion on that play
