I think the overall frustration or complaint is the investment in the passing game for it to be absolutely middle of the road and a QB who continually takes sacks. We're also being told that what we are seeing from Jalen Hurts is great and not to question it. How dare we have questions or better yet, complaints about a stagnant passing game. (reminds me of Covid. DON'T question anything). If you don't like the Eagles passing game and think Jalen Hurts needs to be better, that means you're a hater or better yet a boob.

No need to put him on a pedestal and pretend he's incredible. He isn't. He's a game managing QB, who doesn't take risks.

I think I'm starting to understand the root of the problem here and why it seems there are so many strawman arguments being tossed around. Some of us can easily ignore people like RTK while some of you seem to lack that ability entirely. For the record, I agree with you that Jalen Hurts should not be put on a pedestal. He's not an incredible QB. He is not playing the position at a level such that I am in complete disbelief when watching him. Hope that clears some things up.

Let me ask you, would you be more upset with all those players putting up better numbers in a loss?

I don't care what Puka, Lamb, or Nabers did over the season. None of those players are in a position right now to win a SB.

You act like you cutting the checks. Just enjoy the wins and stop crying lol

That was a well thought out post that points to how much investment has gone into our pass catching weapons, and you accuse him of crying.  If the Eagles didn't allocate so much cap space to these 4 players, then it can be allocated elsewhere.  "You act like you cutting the checks" should only be relevant to a baseball conversation, where the cap is limitless.  This is why it's pointless to point out facts on the message board and to discuss how bad Hurts has been playing.  Nobody's crying.  Everyone will be excited beyond belief if the Eagles win the SB with Hurts playing poorly.

Another look at the week ahead

If it wins a Super Bowl or has gotten the team to the NFCCG at least twice, does it really matter where the cap is being spent?

So return in the Mack…

He makes too much sense.

If they win a SB this year, there's going to be 1/2 of the people saying it's because of Jalen Hurts

Oh my God, can you imagine? What a horrible tragedy to have to suffer through. We would be lucky to avoid such a cruel fate.

Derrick Gunn interviewing Jeremiah Trotter Sr. Is another good watch.  The meat of the interview starts at 2:45 with Trott’s assessment of how LBs fit into Fangio’s scheme.

@TEW said last week that Mack would be a good replacement for BG.

A blast from the past Jalen Carter sacking Jayden Daniels.

Maybe when they announce the parade route, they should have the stans and haters stand on opposite sides of the street.

It wasn't well thought out at all.  It's just another post where another fan is crying about winning in a way they'd prefer seeing.

Why complain about where you're allocating money when the team is in the final 4 for the SB? Also, the team allocated money to the RB position and they're utilizing Barkley in order to have continued success.  So I ask, where else do you want to spend that money in order to have the same type of success? Or are you simply pointing it out to make some idiotic argument about why the passing stats should be better?

I keep seeing people tweet stuff like this thinking they have some gotcha you dumb Eagles fans for wanting a passing game.

Jalen Hurts ranks 18th in attempts per game, 20th in yards per game, 17th in TDs but ranks 11th in sacks taken (7th in sack yards). He's 100% an average NFL quarterback who happens to run well but also takes an above average number of sacks. That's it, that's the truth. No need to put him on a pedestal and pretend he's incredible. He isn't. He's a game managing QB, who doesn't take risks.

AJ Brown- 3rd highest paid WR. 25th in average targets per game and 30th in total catches

DeVonta Smith- 11th highest paid WR. 37th in average targets per game and 28th in total catches.

Dallas Goedert- 5th highest paid TE. 14th in average targets per game and 27th in catches (yes he's hurt a lot).

Yes, both Smith and Brown missed 4 games, but those numbers are still ridiculously low given their talent and investment. Puka Nacua missed 6 games and is 19th in catches. Malik Nabers and CeeDee Lamb both missed 2 games but are 3rd and 5th in catches.

What's the point in spending $170 million in WR and $60 million at TE. if you aren't going to use them. This is 100% the case of having a Ferrari and driving in 45 in the right lane with your blinkers on.

The Eagles have nearly half a billion dollars ($482 million) wrapped up in Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert. Damn right I want a better passing game.

You must not have received the memo. Can't complain or criticize anything because we're winning

A significant amount of Barkley's success comes from the threat of a QB run.  You need to have a QB with legitimate legs to accomplish that.

Hurts is an average passer.  But he is not an average QB.  His running and scrambling skills elevate his effectiveness as a QB in this offense.

Maybe their window has closed

Sam Cosmi won a ton vs. Jalen Carter, especially in the 2nd matchup. Trent Scott was good in the 2nd half vs. Detroit, but that was against Onwuzurike and DJ Reader (can't rush the passer) so I find it hard to judge. Jalen needs another monster game for us to win, because Sweat struggled with Coleman and Wylie gave Nolan problems last time out.

In this matchup, I'd frankly like Huff to take 5-10 more snaps over Sweat but there's no chance of that happening.
