I have been to quite a few Dallas games in Philly.   It's... an experience.    But, honestly, I never saw anything crazy.

I did see some morons carrying a Dallas flag at the Eagles Cardinals game at the end of the 1998 season in the Vet.  Someone threw a beer on them from the upper seats... but missed and it landed on the Eagles fans at the top of the 600 level.  That turned into a real brouhaha.   Half the section ended up in a brawl and was ejected from the game.    Funniest part was that there was more action in the stands that day than on the field.  (Eagles and Cardinals were both horrible that year.).

I sat in the 700 level for the Dallas snowball game in 1989.   It was fun.

The Vet was crazy.  My first Eagles game was the "snowball” game against Dallas.   Oh, the memories.

That said, we certainly have come a long way as fans since the Vet days. 👀

Can't believe that idiot extended Jake for 4 years and signed Bryce Huff and Matt Hennessy :nonono:

Got jumped in the bathroom at halftime of that NFCCG game in Arizona.  Came out to a uniformed cop standing outside.  Told him what happened.  He looked at my jersey and said "I'm on my f'n break."  And, yeah, getting out was sketch as hell.

After that experience, I decided it really isn't worth it going to away games.  And, to be honest, the Linc is the best stadium and experience so why go anywhere else.

yup...I have been to several away games and a couple of home games. I had a really scary experience in Arizona at the NFCCG a few years back with outside fans arriving to fight Eagles fans all over the place. I have been to Oakland in their infamous "black hole" without any issues. The only place I will not wear colors is the Niners games in Santa Clara. The Niners fanbase has significantly changed from the wine sipping quiche eating folks. It has a hardcore group with many gang members mixed in. You may think you are smack talking a fan when they actually are a gang member dressed in Niners gear. They treat any sign of disrespect as an act against their gang...no thank you!

Also went to that nfc championship game. Similar type of experience. Had a beer bottle thrown from the upper deck at us and nearly hit me after desean Jackson scored to give us the lead. Then walking out of that stadium multiple cardinals fans try to start a fight with me as i walked to my car. Only cool part is i ran into duce Staley on the way out and helped me get to my car.

went to the rams game in 2017. Rams fans are also POS. They pushed an old man (has to be in his 70s) and going up the stairs with his wife. I couldn’t believe it when i saw it. Then again went to the nlcs in 08 and 09 and dodgers fans tried to start fights with Phillies fans in the parking lot and in the bleachers in the outfield.

Please post that all over the locker room.

A fine sendoff before he joins the Celtics once Lurie finalizes the purchase.

lol

Lurie would need to sell the Eagles before Roseman goes anywhere.

Washington - Daniels is arguably better
Bucs - until yesterday Mayfield was arguably better, but Hurts’performance probably nudged him ahead of Mayfield

Rams - Stafford is better

Buffalo - Allen is better
Ravens - Jackson definitely is
Browns - ??? Definitely is not
Chiefs - Mahomes definitely is
Chargers - Herbert is, but his inability to win in the Playoffs does open the door for an argument that he isn’t

Daniels had a great rookie season, but he isn't better than Hurts.  People crown rookies way too soon and it's just too early to tell (just look at Stroud, RG3, and Herbert).

Mayfield will/may put up better passing numbers for sure, but I don't think he's the better QB. He also turns it over way too much

Stafford is not better than Hurts imo, but I can understand the argument for him over Hurts.  With that said, I don't think our run game would be as explosive with Stafford, but then maybe our pass game is so explosive that it wouldn't matter, lol

I won't argue Allen or Burrow, as I think they're better too but not by a ton.

Regular season Lamar is better for sure, post season Lamar is far behind Hurts.

Eh...Herbert is NOT better than Hurts.  People are still hyping Herbert based on his potential after his first 2 seasons and his "cannon" arm. He's had 5 seasons now and still hasn't won a playoff game. His 2 losses in the postseason are also absolute embarrassments.

You are right … my bad.

Saints fans on Twitter are hilarious. They honestly believe if Moore gets the HC job he’ll bring Stoutland with him and he’ll fix Penning.

Hennessy is penciled in as the 49ers starting Center for 2025.  He was a good signing by Howie, but there’s wasn’t enough room on the Eagles roster for him.

Hed be better than calcaterra

Ertz was never a very good blocker but either is Cal and Ertz is a crafty vet, I couldnt see him coming back here though playing second fiddle to Goedert when he can be Daniels security blanket and be competitive

Calcaterra is an infinitely better blocker than Ertz. Just no. Ertz can retire an Eagle when the time comes.

Hopefully they will let us buy the jersey this time instead of some weird gray alternative that is never worn.

He may be right. A couple of 60-yard runs by Saquon, a 40-yarder by Hurts, a bomb or three to AJ and Smith, and a 25-yarder to Goedert. Through the red zone without stopping.

SB Logos on Eagles jerseys have been horrendous both the last two times. It would be way better if they went back to a more traditional style.

Sunday’s game was an eye opener in a lot of ways … most notably for possum hunters.   As a result Hurts arguably moved up a number of notches in the speculative QB rankings list I posted last week (quoted above for reference).  Ranking QBs shouldn’t be this dynamic/changeable, but Moore and Sirianni arguably may have been hiding the "real Hurts” from us.

With that said, here is a revised ranking … one that still has room for further movement.  Thoughts?

Washington - Daniels is arguably better
Dallas - Dak is not
Giants - ??? is not
Bucs - until yesterday Mayfield was arguably better, but Hurts’performance probably nudged him ahead of Mayfield
Falcons - Pennix is not
Saints - ??? is not
Panthers - Young is not
Lions - until the last two weeks Goff was arguably better, but Hurts’ is probably a smidgen ahead of Goff now
Vikings - Darnold is not
Packers - Love was a push with Hurts, but is arguably behind Hurts now
Bears - Williams is not
Rams - Stafford is better
Seahawks - like Love, Smith was a push with Hurts until yesterday, but is arguably behind Hurts now
Cardinals - Murray is not
Niners - Purdy is not

So in the NFC 2 QBs are better and 13 are not better.

Buffalo - Allen is better
Miami - Tua is in the same situation as Love and Geno, no longer a push with Hurts
Jets - Rodgers no longer is better
Pats - Maye probably is a push
Texans - Stroud arguably is also a push
Colts - Richardson definitely is not
Titans - ??? Is not
Jaguars - Lawrence arguably is not
Ravens - Jackson definitely is
Steelers - Wilson arguably is not
Bengals - Burrow definitely is
Browns - ??? Definitely is not
Chiefs - Mahomes definitely is
Chargers - Herbert is, but his inability to win in the Playoffs does open the door for an argument that he isn’t
Broncos - Nix comes down as a push for me
Raiders - ??? is not

So AFC has 5 that are arguably better, 3 are likely to be a push, and 8 that are not better

Grand Total 7 are better, 3 are a push, and 21 are not better

I think Stroud just had the sophomore slump. I think he's better

I'd argue a healthy Tua is better. He benefits from his weapons but so does Hurts

Baker is better since he's been with Bucs

Joe it sounds like you and @Wentz_Era are Navy guys.  You may have stories to swap and possibly future beers to raise together.

Actually I am USMC, I work in a field that provides technology, software, and services (RFID tracking and process automation) to the DoD on occasion, but the Navy is the branch that uses our offerings the most. This is the first defense contract we have worked in the last 8 years, I have been working more projects in the distilling industry (tracking bourbon barrels with SAP integration) for the last 8 years.

Looking back through the Eagles 2024 stats vs 2022 stats and position groups, it's pretty striking that this upcoming Super Bowl should be a much different game than SB 57.  The Eagles only ran for 115 yards as a team in that game, even though they led for most of the game.  Sanders/Gainwell/Scott had a combined 17 carries for 45 yards -- that's a pretty ugly 2.6 yards per carry.  Hurts had to carry 15 times for 70 yards to make the run game somewhat respectable.  The Chiefs ran 26 times for 158 yards -- more than 6 yards per carry.

I think from a personnel standpoint the current Eagles team is more talented, especially on these trade-offs:

Barkley > Sanders

Baun > Edwards

Mitchell > Bradberry

DeJean > Maddox

You can certainly make a case the Eagles 2022 team was superior in pass rush, but the disgraceful field the NFL provided completely removed that strength from the game.  Zero Eagles sacks against Mahomes and his imaginary 'high ankle sprain' (which was, in fact, a normal sprained ankle).

I predict this Super Bowl will be lower scoring, with the Eagles run game and defense carrying them to victory.  I think the Eagles are about 6 points better.  Overall, I think the Eagles are a slightly better team now than in 2022, while the Chiefs are a bit worse.
