Happy Thanksgiving, all.

Happy Thanksgiving kids! Even @hputenis who probably got his gobbler stuck in the turkey right now! Right Tom Turkey!?

I said the same thing on Monday.  Carter has the same lower body strength and motor as BG does … and even more.  He is almost like the best of BG and Cox combined in a single player.

Carter has played some DE this year.  When they are in five man fronts, Davis is the NT and Carter is a DE as is Milton or Ojomo.  Sweat, Nolan Smith and Hunt are OLBs.  I suspect Charles Harris, who was playing OLB for the Panthers is more OLB at 250 than DE.  The Eagles also play a fair amount of four man fronts where the OLBs play in the DE position.  (Edges, in current vernacular.)

I was watching a YouTube last night of all of Barkley’s noteworthy carries.  In addition to just enjoying it for the sake of enjoying it, I was looking for a prior instance of Saquon’s second 70 yard TD from a prior game.  What I found was that they were running that play many times starting with Week One.  I can’t wait for @just relax to get back from Portugal to break down the plays in the You Tube.  It is poetry in motion.

So nice to combine great blocking choreography with a back that understands where the hole is and hits it fast and then has the vision and power in the second level to outplay the back five.  Gainwell hits the hole fast and takes what is blocked but doesn’t have that level of vision and power at the second level. Probably because Gainwell could outrun most of the second level he faced in college.   Shipley is a complete unknown.  He does hit the hole fast and seems to take what is blocked. But when we see Shipley in garbage time, he is smothering the ball to ensure no fumbles to the extent.  Hard to run with both arms hugging the ball.

The better response on Ringo is that he is still behind Rodgers at playing the ball.  Every time I see Ringo, I feel he is getting closer to playing except for his play on the ball.  I would actually say he mirrors better than Rodgers and is starting to figure out what level of contact is allowable in the NFL.  He’s so close but not there yet and closing that gap is the hardest thing for a DB, taking your eyes off the receiver to track the ball.  And covering AJ in practice won’t make that any easier.  Brown may be the best I have seen at delaying his reaction to the ball.

I think he's still too handsy. The type of calls they got Slay and Rodgers for against the Rams could be called on Ringo almost every play.

Let’s just say if our stuffing filled Tom Turkey has a little extra taste of throat yogurt at the dinner table, Hut’s phenis had a really fun morning.

Happy Thanksgiving gents. Be thankful for Saquon Barkley!

Can we be thankful for Shaq Barrett yet? Has he been spotted in Philly? 😉

Good - My original post on this topic was a reply to HE who said Hurts was "not a good QB".  I'm not claiming Hurts is HOF level.  He isn't even top 5 in the league at this point.  However, the only thing that matters here is that he leads the Eagles to the SB for a 2nd time and he is definitely good enough to do that.

HOF - Any QB that leads a team all year and wins three SBs will be in the HOF.  Also, no QB wins a SB by himself.  Even the likes of Brady and Mahomes have other great players/coaches around them.

Love my house but this is what happens when you have the biggest house in the family lol, we have had parties with 200 plus in our backyard!  And no our dining room doesn't fit 28, we actually emptied our living room, 6 tables.  Although of note, when moving a huge sectional after 7 years of living in a house, be prepared for some of the nastiest f'ing crap to be found under there!

He also risked the chance of getting mugged when he left his house in the morning. His job is to throw the ball. Yes, every time he throws, it can be intercepted. But if he were good at playing his position, he would be allowed to throw more, and not throw as many INTs.

So, are you saying "Hurts is good" or "Hurts is not good"?

What I said is that the bar is placed far too low for praising him. Hes not really a good QB. We need to limit his passing and hope he doesnt make any severe mistakes in the few times he throws.

Your "all that matters is that we win games" is what I agree with. But thats a deflection from the truths I told. Ive never argued otherwise.

Ok, just wanted clarification.  I'm curious, how many current starting QBs to you consider "good"?

I completely forgot about the Friday game

Though I'm not surprised since it's Raiders vs Chiefs

Another snoozefest

Ones that can throw the ball well, and process the game.

Id probably take some that are lesser overall as a player in general because I feel the mental aspect of their processing, as well as arm talents are more valuable than a few scrambles from Hurts with all of his shortcomings. And when you mix in so many of those horrible QB draws....

I do not feel that what he adds with his legs, outweighs the collective potential contributions of the rest of our skill players if they had a QB who was able to maximize their talents.

More production from Smith, Dotson, Goedert, RBs more involved in the passing game, even using AJ Brown in even more varied ways making him even more dangerous... All of that sounds so much better to me than a spaz QB who has to limit his throws in games and occasionally makes a few plays with his legs.
