That's the result, but I was looking for one that laid out the math, variable by variable based on FG distance, field position, etc. In any case, it's close enough to illustrate the overarching point. Dumb decision by Campbell.

The SOB couldn't have gone down or botched the handoff?  Would have served them right for the arrogance and stupidity.

We have the coaching advantage with Sirianni vs. Campbell lol.

Nick has done better since the BYE. We do...past the scripted plays and plan for Q1 on offense. There has to be a consultant out there who can help them. They adjust well on both sides they just need to get going faster.

Just a reminder, this wasn't a flag

In concept I agree with you, but I am having a hard time reconciling that concept with the characteristics/skills of the actual Bucs team.  Why are they the most dangerous team for the Eagles?

Why on a neutral field?

The Bills matchup would be the Super Bowl... so in NOLA, a neutral site.

To clarify the success rate estimate from my previous post, the 4th and 1 conversion rate for conventional running plays is 63%. For QB sneaks, it's 83%, which begs the question as to why Ben Johnson is so averse to having Goff sneak it on some of these 4th and 1 situations, and should be a reminder to all Eagles fans as to how valuable the higher conversion rate the tush push provides and how it can easily be the difference in winning and losing in games like last night's.

https://sports.sites.yale.edu/success-short-yardage-play-types-fourth-down#:~:text=If there are no defenders,time for 4th and 1.

Play Type Conversion Rate
Quarterback Sneaks 82.8%
Non-Quarterback Running plays 63.4%
All Non-Sneaks 62.0%

The conversion rate by this OL before the Tush Push was also higher than the league wide QB sneak conversion rate.  I think the Tush Push's effectiveness has much more to do with the OL and the QB than the guys behind the QB pushing.   And, by running it the way they do, they limit wrinkles off of it and the chance to get bigger plays off it by defense's overcommitting.  Not a big deal at the 1 yard line, but a much bigger deal at other places on the field.

I think a more conventional QB sneak with our behemoth OGs and OTs would be just as effective as the Tush Push, and offer us the opportunity to run wrinkles that lead to big plays.

I tend to think if Devonta smith and brown are healthy and playing we’d be fine. Week 5 last year we beat the Bucs 25-11 when guys were healthy. Bowles is 2-0 vs. hurts when aj brown was out with an injury. And 2-0 when hurts didn’t have brown. And 0-1 when we did.

LOL, "head coach in waiting"?

I'm pretty sure UNC will declare chick-fil-a to be open on Sunday if Belichick says he'll coach the team.  It doesn't mean it's actually going to come true, though.

That's honestly worse than last week.

Yeah I don't care as much about the differences between tush push and conventional qb sneak, but the moral of the story is that you take advantage of your strengths, and our strength is converting these 4th and 1 situations by putting the ball in Hurts' hands and having him move the chains.

Yup, by a lot too.

On 4th and 1 or at the goal line, I'm fine with it.  But, 3rd and 1 anywhere in the open area of the field?  Nah.  I have no problem with a traditional QB sneak, I even encourage it... where the QB has the option to audible to something if the opponent offers some sort of opportunity.  But to just stack the LOS for the Push at the 35 yard line... it just doesn't make sense to me.  When you are successful at something you can get teams to overcommit and hit them with something bigger and help yourself even more than just continuing the drive (not that that's not a nice thing).

Kelce really upset someone he works with at ESPN I guess.

So we’re a bit light at safety on Sunday.

As long as he doesn't say he is Covey, we are fine.

After last night's game the Eagles moved up to third in NFL Total Offense Yards per Game

I think you’re completely missing the point. The Tush Push is a way to tell a team: you can’t stop us. You know it’s coming but you can’t stop it. It’s demoralizing.
