EMB Blog: 2024 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

I think the Eagles draft BPA next year.  Position part of the BPA grade will be determined by what occurs in free agency.

On defense, scout OLB/Edge (Sweat, Graham may be gone, Huff has yet to prove himself), ILB (even if they sign Baun, Burks may leave), DT (Milton, how does Gabe Hall look, Byron Young?), CB (Rodgers likely gone, also Bradberry, Maddox and possibly Slay, if they don’t think Ringo takes the next step and can be a reliable starter, then another CB becomes a big need) and S.  So basically every position.  Starters not currently signed are Sweat and Baun.

On offense, scout back up OT, that could eventually replace Lane and C, (Fred, Driscoll, Gates and Becton are UFAs, how do they feel about Kinnard?), back up RB (Gainwell is a FA and Shipley could be #2 - that was why he was drafted), TE (Goedert availability, plus Calcaterra’s at the end of his rookie deal, Uzomah is a FA), always scout the back up WRs for a possible upgrade.

Lovato is 32, so I imagine it’s worthwhile to scout LS, including ones on the street right now.  I fully expect an alternative to Lovato may be a future contract signing.

Howie seemed a little concerned at the PCs on draft weekend that they didn't come away with an OL in the first few rounds. We all know we need an edge, will likely need a DT too with Williams leaving and Davis role-defined. Think we're looking at DE-DT-OL in the first 3 rounds in whichever order is closest to BPA

All of the above is correct/accurate, but incomplete.  You chose not to include the most important part of the Eagles announcement which said "The Eagles made a roster move just after the trade deadline on Tuesday, releasing tight end Albert Okwuegbunam."

That does not matter

No they did not.  They still had the eight regular season designations.  They used one of the two (new this year) preseason designations on Albert O, and the other one on Ainius Smith.

It’s 8 including the two preseason. Not in addition.

If that was an issue with the Invision software, it should work. But if it was an issue on Instagram's side, probably not. Test it out and see. Same with Facebook. I know that that one was a Facebook issue, not an Invision issue. So it likely won't work.

Ah ok I missed that post.

I found something in the internal settings that may make Facebook and Instagram embedding work, later I'll follow it's steps and see if I can make it work.

They add two for the post season, so you can conceivably use all 10 during the post season.  But you can only use 8 during the regular season.

Are ASU and Boise State really two of the best four teams in the country?

They indeed were designated to return ... but not so designated "in the regular season"  They were designated in the Preseason in the two (new this year) Preseason designations.

Which means they count. You are moving goal posts. It doesn’t matter when they were designated, they were designated. That’s all that matters. It’s been reported on numerous times that Albert O and Ainias Smith counted towards the 8 total designations to return.

And again it doesn’t even matter as they have 2 left, get 2 more in the post season, and there is not many games left.

Aren't we already into the post season?  Anyone placed on IR next week would be eligible to come back for the first playoff game at the earliest.

they are actually playing together

Yes which is separate entirely to this topic. There is not 2 preseason plus 8 regular season is the point. It’s 8 total, unless you make the post season which gives 2 more.

They haven’t clinched yet so no.

It's so simple when you use small words to explain.

I guess they are top-12 in the AP, but the conference winner bye should go.

Still the wrong starting 5. Yabusele starting is good. McCain should be in there instead of Oubre.

Im not giving a prediction but I think DeJean or Mitchell get their first INT today. Probably DeJean.

It's the alternative to twitter. One of the founders created it. People that aren't happy with twitters political views have been moving there. It apparently has a better algorithm than twitter

Oh, I agree. I mentioned QB2 and TE because the context was offense only. On defense, I'd look for edge, a DT (especially if we don't resign Williams), a safety, and whoever the best player available is at any position. With the way they used Van Sumeran we might pick up a FB/H-back somewhere.

All in all, this is a remarkably sound roster, and loaded with youth as well.

Agreed, the tough part is finding a way to afford them all.   Good problem to have, all things considered.
