Potential game winner.  The Eagles would have had about 40 seconds and 3 timeouts to try to get into FG range and give Jake a chance to get himself right.

Glad it didn't happen but honestly I started thinking that OK Hurts has a chance to drive the team down for a GW FG because the last few times this situation happened he tried getting greedy and threw an INT.

Really bad timing for AJ to start sulking and spouting off publicly in the middle of a nine game winning streak.  Yes he was open several times yesterday and Hurts didn't get him the ball but you'd like AJ to keep that frustration in the locker room.  Something Nick has to deal with right away.

I’m fine with it. Hurts and Moore need a fire lit under their asses

Unfortunately it's not only one play. I have seen the exact same scenarios multiple times watching the games in person, watching Thursday night games with prime vision, and watching previous all-22s. Hurts is only getting worse somehow. Before he couldn't make it past his first read. Now even if his first read is open, he is reluctant to pull the trigger.

I mean honestly with our WRs why would any team play man??

just mix up c2,3 and 4

I actually think we run Flood / Levels pretty well for this not to be an issue. I haven't gone back to watch what we ran against the Panthers, but gotta imagine this isn't something Moore would be blind to. Guess we'll find out more next week against a much stronger defense.

9 Game Winning Streak, could lock up the Division next week, still very alive in the #1 Seed Chase, Clinched playoffs with one month to go.  All you can do is smile.

For those of you at the game, how much grumbling about Hurts did you hear in the stadium? I know there was plenty of it in week 2 at the Falcons game. I imagine by now its getting even louder.

It's LOUD. I was part of it myself, as was almost all of S230

Jalen "Captain Checkdown" Hurts right there.

Jalen is still a one read and throw passer, but with all the turnovers he seems to be afraid of pushing the ball downfield.

Idk I think that Sirianni purposely going out of FG range to punt might’ve been the final straw to destroy whatever confidence Jake had left and he might’ve missed it had we gotten in range after Legette TD

Hurts takes way too many bad sacks to be called Captain Checkdown. I wish he was sometimes...

I doubt there would be a QB controversy with Pickett.  McKee, on the other hand, seems to play well in this system.

If he plays better than Hurts has been, it wouldn't matter who the QB is that does it.  Controversy will follow.  The folks who have been around might remember that there was a movement for AJ Feeley in 2002 when McNabb broke his ankle.

Great Jake Elliott is now assaulting people with his kicks

I had low confidence too, but it was definitely doable.

The big thing is… how do they fix it? Because they need to otherwise things are going to continue to escalate and I do think that threatens to derail this season. Last year we saw these fractions and we know what happened there!

Soak the ball in gravy and send attack dogs. He's got a timer to let the ball go or else

It is weird to hear so much complaining and criticism of a team after 9 wins in row but I'm glad there is.  They can't be content with the way they have been winning.

In many ways, it has been a tale of two seasons. At the beginning of the year, the criticism was that they were passing too much and not staying dedicated to the run.  Hurts was trying to do too much forcing the ball into tight windows and turning the ball over.  Since the bye, they have dedicated to the run and asked Hurts to take better care of the ball.  Hurts has done that.  He hasn't turned the ball over.

Now, the pendulum has swung too much in the latter direction.  Hurts is hesitant to put the ball in harms way and is overthinking in the pocket because of that. For the Eagles to win it all, they have find a middle ground with the passing game.  I am hoping that they will.

I don't buy the argument that Hurts can't do it.  He has and he can.  He has to willing to take shots when they are open and trust his WRs to make a play.  They will work on it and I have confidence it will get better.  We need to keep in mind that he hasn't had his receiving threats on a consistent basis with those guys getting banged up.

I know the focus is always on the QB position because it is the most important position in all of sports but the OL deserves some criticism as well.  They have not been good in pass protection.  It is hard for Hurts to trust his OL and make his reads when they are allowing free rushers to come up the middle.  That is not say, Hurts doesn't deserve criticism but this whole team needs to be better in the passing game and that definitely starts with consistent pass pro.

I think it's fair to give Hurts some of the blame, but to blame him for 100% of it I think is going too far. We see the plays every week. Too many times is no one open. They have AJ freaking Brown and Devonta Smith as their WRs. And Goedert at TE when he's healthy. Times this year we had WRs running into each other, 3 WRs all ending their routes within 2 yards of one another. That's coaching. And we see this same BS every week. Having WRs running into each other on routes is Fing embarrassing. Or designing plays where they all end up in the same area of the field. That can't happen.

crap, we saw this yesterday. After disaster plays they would show the other angles. Sure on some plays guys were open and Hurts deserves blame for missing them. But every week I watch the other games and these teams scheme guys WIDE OPEN. Not AJ Brown is open for 0.5 seconds on a slant open. Scheming it where guys don't have a DB within 10 yards of them. That rarely happens in this offense. Plays like the mesh play vs the Saints where they scheme Goedert wide open. I see the Lions, Rams, Vikings, Ravens, Chiefs, Bills, etc get guys open like that several times per game.

So where is it in this offense? You can't absolve the coaching for this. They all deserve blame.

Or should could get off her phone and pay attention to the game. I see this a lot at youth sports where balls can hit spectators and half the parents on the sidelines are all shocked when it does happen like they had no idea it was even a possiblity.

Holy crap he sucks. He did the same on the Smith TD.

I appreciate seeing these as it's hard to pay attention to everything during a game.

I remember this play.  Hurts was about to throw the ball when the blitzing LB jumped up to block it.  Hurts pulled the ball down and then left a nice pocket.

Receivers are schemed open. Hurts just doesn't deliver it. All he had to do here is remain calm and step up in the pocket with his head up here. Instead he just tucks it and panic, like he does multiple times every game.

They're open. Hurts is throwing it to them. Maybe he's hesitant to throw a pick or maybe he can't see it

I am absolutely gutted right now. Completely devastated. Because of the update to the board that happened yesterday, I am totally screwed. I use old technology and yesterday's so-called "upgrade" actually ruined things for me. I usually operate from the computer in the basement that I've used for many, many years although sometimes I operate from an IPad that someone gave me about three years ago. Any kind of what I would consider to be a decent comment would be written on the computer. When I comment while using the IPad, I generally kind of limit myself to two or three lines. (I'm a very good typist on a keyboard but on an IPad it is too awkward to type properly so I limit myself.)

@VaBeach_EagleWhat has happened is that the box at the bottom of screen that says "Reply to this topic" has shrunk (about a quarter of its normal size) to the point that it is inoperable. It is simply impossible to put a cursor in there. As a consequence, I cannot respond to anything. I had this exact same thing happen to me a year or so ago on the Redskins message board site. They had a very good board with some very good commentary (their draft stuff was superb). I used to enjoy keeping a pulse on that team and on rare occasions I would interject with some comments of my own. Not often. I would hardly consider myself an active participant on their board. But every now and then, yes. But as I said, that very same issue hit me a year or so ago and I could not make any replies. This wasn't a huge, huge deal but it was annoying. I was comforted however in knowing that OUR site still worked for me.

Until yesterday.

Oh sure, I can still read pages and pages of comments but I simply cannot reply, which takes the fun out of everything. And as I've said, I've used this site (in various forms of course) for a couple decades now. It has become part of my daily life. But I'm screwed. Yes, I may be able to -- as I'm doing know -- find an alternate computer that works for me. But this is not something that is convenient. In fact I would consider it inconvenient.

So I really don't know what to do. I have tried in vain in the past to find a workaround to this problem but I've never been able to solve it.

I guess I always knew this was inevitable. I supposed that improvements to websites can have disastrous side effects. I am that side effect. And it sucks.

Are you seeing a cursor or a pointer finger when trying to click in the reply box? I use my laptop for 99% of my posting (makes me feel old), but I just prefer to type on a keyboard. My reply box is pretty narrow, but the pointer finger, when you click anywhere, expands the reply box to full size. Is that not happening for you?

Its not just him. Mailata sounded upset after the game. Smith pointed fingers. Hurts also pointed fingers.

I went back and looked at what they all said again and I didn't see any finger pointing from anyone which is good.

I said in that very post that WRs are open sometimes and he misses them. But nearly often enough and not as often as other offenses that don't have the targets the Eagles have.

Fran Duffy, Shane Haff, Sheil, and others who do the film every week have backed this up. And none of those guys are Hurts apologists. If you notice, Fran and Shane have really gone in on the offensive play design in particular lately and how unimpressive it is. At least in the passing game.
