Why not a jet sweep or two with AJ Brown, similar to what the Rams do with Nacua?  Just give the defense something else to worry about, and offer Brown a chance to get some action without needing to throw him the ball?

Have those ever worked for us? To be fair, we try them with guys like Anais Smith, not AJ. I do remember Kellen running them in Dallas, but I can't remember one working for us this year.

You know how I feel about your criticism of Hurts?

I promise I don't think about you at all.

I listened to a bit of the talking heads ramble about the Eagles' win yesterday and the disagreement between Orlovsky and Rex Ryan was somewhat interesting in that I can see merit in both points of view.  Orlovsky was pointing out looks and throws that Hurts was missing, where Ryan was saying "why the drama?"  they've just won their 9th game in a row and -- more importantly -- have a successful formula in running up 200+ yards on the ground and not turning the ball over.  The Eagles play in a fishbowl media market and these players are giving the media ammunition to run with.

I would be more inclined to agree with Ryan's point of view normally (although Orlovsky is correct as well), but the problem I have is the offense has sputtered at times for much of the season, and been perpetually stalled to start games.  I still think Hurts' slow starts are going to stop an Eagles playoff deep run.  You can't fall way behind DET and hope to catch up, and it might also happen against the Rams or Tampa in a wildcard or divisional round game.  If the Eagles meet the Bucs again in the playoffs and Hurts is stalled on 0 points again into the 2nd half, my TV will be broken and stomped on.

Hurts is supposed to be coachable, and he's supposed to be a hard worker.  Get the first quarter fixed.  It is a Hurts problem -- I believe that 1000%

For starters, I wasn't talking about Hurts. I was talking about Stafford.

When you said mediocre white qb I figured you weren’t talking about Hurts.

That was in reference to Dan Orlovsky, the dude who ran out of the back of the end zone in his one and only NFL highlight.

Did you even read the post or just jump to conclusions? You have that mat from Office Space on your floor?

I don't like Hurts cause he's arrogant, short, and needs lasik.

I think the last convo we exchanged was about 2 years ago when you told me Maxey was another Hersey Hawkins.

Seems like your player evaluation is a little off.

You have me confused with someone else. I never compared Maxey to Hawkins.

Might be time for a cognitive test buddy.

The first sack is clearly on Dickerson. He pulls from LG and runs right by the blitzing LB.

The second sack is on Jurgens. He looks to help Dickerson but his first responsibility is to block the guy coming through the A gap. Becton is blocking his man. Dickerson has his. Jurgens made a mistake looking left instead of what's in front of him. I've noticed this before with Jurgens: he's a little too impatient, commits too soon. He'll learn.

Why are you boob against the visually impaired.

If we have to play TB in the playoffs, we are getting killed. Or Minnesota or GB. Or Seattle or AZ. Or Wash.

It looks like  Dickerson maybe expected  someone else  to be there to make that block. I wonder if he was coached to get the end and leave the LB.

Given that we need to get this passing offense out of a funk, I would we have a 80-20 pass-run ratio vs. Pitt. Win or lose, get the passing game back on track. Throw your way out of it.

Its a great idea in theory. In reality all those quick 3 and outs will lead to the defense wearing down from being on the field so much, having to deal with Wilson extending plays, and being run at by Najee Harris repeatedly. You have more to lose than just the game, and throwing the ball is how youll lose in every way possible.

Over/under on aj brown targets in the first quarter is 2.5. I fully expect him to be targeted early in that game

Hersey Hawkins?  Good one.  Are you just just completely ignoring their injury history the last few years?  Harden and Durant, who will be 32 and 34 to start the season, are going to be less injury prone as they get older?  I forgot, Embiid is always available so we are good there.  🙄  They have a 2 year window and one of those years, all 3 have to available for all the playoffs.

Hersey Hawkins made an all-star team In 1991. Lemme know when Maxey does.

I love Maxey. But for KD? Giannis? Luka? I will drive him to the airport.

It was a joke about Orlovsky hyping up Stafford, who we just shut down. Wasn't about Hurts. I do find Orlovsky's love affair with Stafford, Cousins, etc. to be tiresome. Really wasn't about Hurts at all if you look at the post.

The criticisms of Hurts play the last 2 weeks are justified.

Well, Stafford did play great yesterday.  Those guys mostly focus on the immediate moment and don't go that far back.   And frankly, I'd rather not have to face off against the Rams again.  I don't know if this defense can do what they did to them twice in a row.  And if they can't, the Eagles can't keep up in a shoot out type game.   The Rams even managed to keep the Bills at arm's length while Allen was playing out of his mind.

Don’t really care for acho but he’s right on the Aj brown part. I brought this up during the ravens games, there’s no way he should be ranking 43rd in the league in targets. He’s too good. Add on there’s no reason he should have 5 targets in the red zone all year. It’s a problem

Yeh, I honestly don't put much stock/thought into what Orlovsky has to say generally speaking. He was a mediocre college qb at best at two second tier schools, he then somehow had a career that lasted a while in the NFL....with a 75 rating. Everyone has to make a living I guess, his job I think is to have interesting interaction with Stephen A to help drive ratings, because his takes on qb play are invalid in my mind.

OK, I don't remember that, and you don't have my original post for the context. But yeah, I'd have traded Maxey for KD in 2022. I'd trade him for Giannis or Luka right now. You wouldn't trade him straight up for Giannis or Luka?

That's an interesting observation.  The reason it doesn't work might just be who it is they are using to do it.  But, in terms of not using Brown that way, it's like either they are scared to use Brown that way, or he refuses to do it.  I think he'd be great at it, but even if they wanted to do it with Shipley... it would be another tool in the chest.
