He doesn't roll back and right anymore and he pretty much stays in the pocket.  He hasn't had issues with either of those since before the bye.

He does take sacks when it isn't necessary and he quite often fails to throw the ball when receivers are open.

I think that's the same injury Wentz had.  Medical science has come a long way, but I don't think Wentz ever got full mobility back in that knee.

This.

I like him around 25 passes and no more unless the game calls for it.  I just find it funny that the offense has found it's identity, is winning, yet certain fans want them to have a different identity.  They've won 9 straight and beat Baltimore pretty convincingly with this formula, but fans want blow outs due to "the weapons" and want us to be like the Lions. The Chiefs are tied for the best record and they've been scraping by in each game, and if they win a 3rd SB, no one's going to care how they won their games.

We don't want to run less and pass more.  We want to see the passing game work within the 25 or so opportunities.

That would make everyone confident that if we need to win a game in the 30s or execute a drive at the end of the game to win, we have the ability to do so.

You're either still missing the point or you're doing it just to be an ass.

Everyone knows that QBs miss reads and have bad passes. That's part of it. The issue, for the one millionth time is that Hurts:

- Has the best overall weapon in football around him

- Has one of (if not number one) the best OLs in football

- Has a defense that shuts down the other team and allows him to not push as much

- Has more time to throw then 99% of the league

- Is barely asked to throw

When his number is called, he continues to:

- Leave a clean pocket

- Miss open receivers

- Take unnecessary sacks

- Roll to his right and throw it out of bounds

How much damn help does he need?

I get it, and your post/list just reinforces my belief that some of you guys are just haters.

Saquon wasn't here the past 2 seasons, and he managed to get to the SB and playoffs just fine.  AJ and Smitty put up great numbers the past 2 seasons, and both (mostly AJ) have had numerous good games this year.  But Brown gets neglected for 2 games and all of a sudden people are whining that Hurts stinks and they nitpick and exaggerate the flaws. Just own it, you're a hater lol

Well he might get traded, but Jerry isn’t dumb enough to let him land in the division, and if he’s smart he doesn’t let him land in the conference.

EDIT:

IDK, Maybe he is.

keep calling Jerrah smart because everything hes done so far points of how smart hes been.  ALL IN

What I find funny about this whole "You can't win a Super Bowl without big passing" media debate is the fact Patrick beat us only throwing 182 yards.   The Chiefs rushed for about 159 yards that day but put up 38 points with those numbers.   That's looking a lot like our formula now.

Honestly I don't even care anymore.  It's not my responsibility to care about these guys futures and whether or not they go to class and graduate.  That's up to them.

I've enjoyed College football.  I just want to see the best games and best teams play.  While the transfer portal and NIL have changed things, it's also made the sport more open and competitive.

I think several teams this year have a shot to win it all unlike past years where it's either Bama or Georgia is gonna win.

At the end of the day, it's still college football and it's the game I love. It's just not the same. At the very least, there needs to be something in the announcers contracts that prohibits them from mentioning that a guy is a transfer say after week 6? If we are in Championship week, mentioning that guys are transfers seems silly as they've played a full season for the current school. Don't need to be reminded every time a guy makes a play that he's a transfer.

Defense put up 7, but still a good point.

Except the 38 points

We scored 37 against the Rams and Jalen threw for 179. 34 against Dallas and he threw for 202 (Barkley only ran for 66).

We have played games prior to the Panthers game. He had a bad game. But it's not like we haven't been scoring all year -- at 26.3 PPG, we are the 8th highest scoring team in the league.

Just went through the first quarter targets on the season, aj brown has 14 in 10 games played. 0 targets in the first quarter the last two weeks. Means he’s getting 1.4 targets in the first quarter. I’m guessing that’s going to double in this game against the Steelers.

Can thank the chiefs defense for a td and special teams for giving the chiefs the ball at the 5 yard line.

I get that, but I think the criticism over the last 2 weeks is kinda crazy.  You would think Jalen's been hesitant all season with the way some are complaining, but that's not been the case.

I don't even recall him being gun shy vs the Ravens, they just didn't hit on some of those attempts. Also, the Ravens may have a bad pass defense, but that same defense held R. Wilson to 205 yds on 36 pass attempts, with 1 INT and 0 TDs.

Against Carolina, we only had 56 total plays to their 69 and we lost the time of possession by a little over 7 minutes.  In truth, CAR outplayed us on both sides of the ball, but we managed to win anyway. The team made plays when they needed to, and won.

I forgot, but the field was the biggest factor in them losing. No pass rush due to people slipping everywhere, which also benefitted us, but it nullified our superior pass rush at the time.

What a terrible week for football. All the games suck except Bills/Lions and that's on the same time as the Eagles.

Hopefully, the Bills will come in and play defense.

I mean slants and come back routes used to be automatic.

Feels like they still are when we actually call them and throw them. The 3rd and 13 conversion as an example.

If Jalen can get back into the realm of 200yd passing/gm, that will right the ship. I think that means either becoming more efficient or hit on some big plays. He has shown the ability for the latter.

Will Grier was the real star of the QB room. All these issues happened after he left.

They scored a defensive TD and a TD on a short field.  It wasn't like they had a non-functioning passing game during the season.  Mahomes threw for over 5,000 yards in 2022.  They had the number one passing offense in the League that season.  It's absurdist to think that the 2022 Chiefs' offense was anything like the 2024 Eagles.

That is the part of the struggle that I don't understand.

If you squint your eyes enough to the point they are completely shut, they look exactly the same.

Eh, most of us were happy the team was 10-1, but kept complaining weekly about how bad the defense was.  This is different because it's not like Hurts is throwing it 30 times a game and is simply ignoring Brown/Smitty.  Also, the offense isn't really struggling to score points.   I think they can pass if they need to, but for whatever reason against Carolina he was extremely cautious. He was pretty cautious against Bmore too, but not this bad.  Maybe things will go back to "normal" this weekend.

The offense wasn't good last year either, they started painfully slow even moreso than this year. For half the year they were able to survive by turning it on in the second half. Towards the end of the season they couldn't even do that and the defense turned into a sieve.

This week screams a game of overcompensating that turns into a loss

FWIW, I don't think Hurts is the entire problem.  He is an issue.  He has struggled in the pocket.  They have played inconsistently.  There is also disconnect on the play calling side of the ball.
