Why in the world would anyone "Tweet" out Randy's alleged health condition when he hasn't said anything?  Social media and getting clicks is completely out of control in this society. It's nobody damn business until he makes a statement.  People need stop attention whoring for "Likes" or trying to be the "First" to report something when you don't have all the facts.   This could be a serious situation, he deserves privacy.

Yea. That's pretty fd up

And we currently have the #1 defense and #1 RB - what's your point?

You're not expected to throw for 4k yards but Hurts isn't even throwing for 3k yards. He's at 2602 and he's got 4 games left. We might even sit him. There's a possibility he doesn't even reach 3k

Well he scrambled away from defenders on every run so it is hard to say.  Take the sack where he slid and said he didn’t throw it away because it was RPO and he didn’t want the penalty (flawed thinking). I think at that point he had taken the run option. That’s part of the problem dissecting any play. We have to make assumptions as to what was called.

I would say it's more accurate to call that a scramble. Taking the Run option on an RPO would be handing it off after reading the defender. He instead tried to keep it, look for an open receiver, couldn't find/see one and then took a dumb sack instead of throwing it away and taking a 5yd penalty (better choice.)

It's not exact to what you're saying but in 2012 the top 3 QB's in passing yardage all threw for over 4900 yards (Brees threw for 5100) and none of them had a winning record. Adrian Peterson won MVP, the last time an RB won.

Russell Wilson never broke 3500 yards his first 3 years and the Seahawks won 36 regular season games over that span and went to the Superbowl twice winning one. Since then he's thrown for 4000+ 4 times and 30+ TD's 5 times and hasn't been back to the big dance once.

It's almost like there's always more to it than gaudy QB numbers.

Of course.  My point was that the QBs that hit those lofty heights being thrown out in the hypothetical are the ones in the MVP discussion AND their teams are almost always in the playoff hunt.   My point was not that that's the only way to win, but if you hit those numbers, your team is very likely to win.  As far as I know, Brees in 2012 is the only sub 0.500 team performance, and even they were 7-9, not a 3 or 4 win team.

I think 2000 yards from a RB is now the only real chance a RB has to win the award.  And, a couple of them were snubbed.  Dickerson didn't get it in 1984, he lost to Dan Marino's 5000 yards passing season.  Jamal Lewis didn't in 2003, Chris Johnson didn't in 2009.

I put @hputenis in his cage. He had an accident on the floor after he was outside for a couple hours

I saw a Josh Sweat/TJ Watt comparison and instantly felt sad/dumber.

These exercises are always dumb. "What if teams lost instead of won? Bad teams are good now?! Now way!”

I think it's interesting to ponder. Lots of 1 position games getting flipped. Interesting to see the outcome 🤷‍♂️

This is dumb because of garbage time. Look at the Ravens/Commanders results. Those weren't "one-score" games.

NFC N & AFC W. Happens when you get good divisions + 1st place schedule (Atlanta/TB + probably Seattle).

This comparison is just dumb. Would be slightly less dumb if they did games within a FG instead of a possession, but still kinda dumb even then.

You gotta combine all his running stats and that’ll put him above 3k total yards and above 20 total tds. That puts him up there as an elite qb with the likes of Allen, mahomes, burrow, Lamar.. 😆

Thank you for some actual data

so Hurts is not something special on that play

He's converting them at a higher rate than the league average, and probably one of the highest in the league over the past 3 seasons. You can argue that any QB behind our line would have similar success (likely true), but it's misleading to imply it's not a high-value play we have at our disposal that other teams don't (see how Detroit almost lost to the Packers because they couldn't easily convert 4th and 1 at will like we can.)

Not only that, but what about that one possession reversal making it MORE than a one-possession game?
