EMB Blog: 2024 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

The issue is not the aggregate, but more about the current trend.  It has really tailed off in recent weeks.  83 net passing yards last week is bad.

That trend consists of a win over our biggest division rival that essentially clinched the division, a blowout win on the road over a surging Rams team, a solid (should have been double digit) win on the road against the MVP and SB-contending Ravens, and then a rough game vs. Carolina.

The fact that this has become so insanely overblown has just made me more confident that it will bring the team together.  It can't be THAT bad, not like 2023, when they're winning games comfortably like this.

I can't wait for Sunday now and I'm sure they all feel the same way.  Look out, Steelers.

You're not allowed to criticize the QB while they're winning. That's the general gist that I'm getting

That's a ridiculous conclusion. No one has said people can't criticize the current QB situation going on. Anyone with decent football knowledge and access to viewing the games can see the concerns about Hurts going back to last season and beyond. He is struggling with basic processing, reading defenses, and he appears to be over correcting to limit mistakes. I also think the recent emphasis on the RPO has caused all kinds of drama. Hurts is getting mentally stuck when he doesn't hand off or run, instead holding the ball too long and trying to avoid illegal downfield violations. He not found a solution to it. All is a problem and currently holding back the offense. We see that! We see it every game just how limited he is, even in good performances. It is very frustrating to watch and must be absolutely miserable to play through it.

The issue is the handful of trolls sucking the oxygen out of the room with mindless and repetitive posts about it. They made their point months ago and have locked in on low level thinking. Non-stop hate and hyperbole is going to cause push back.

He gets them all next season.

Yup...I am already looking forward to a visit to Sofi to see the Eagles play the Chargers. Early indications is that it is an away game.

That game is locked in at Sofi unless they give us another international game.

Yup, and it will be ~75% Eagles fans at a minimum.

I haven't figured out why they don't schedule a game in Antartica.

you...the last few Rams games in LA have been the most I fun have had especially with the huge Eagle fan representation

I was there last year and this year. Basically home games, and that stadium is awesome.

It's not ridiculous when I'm seeing it. I'm not talking about on here either. I'm in a bunch of Eagles groups on facebook. I see it all of the time on many posts. Someone critiques Hurts passing game and it's "who cares we're winning"

So just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not happening

I'd take screenshots but then I'd probably have to edit the pictures and names of the people and don't feel like doing that

I now understand your point, but I am talking about the Blog. Can you please name people in here who have said Hurts can't be criticized?

Last week's game was in no way comfortable.

Commanders lose their #2 WR, likely for the season. More OZ/Dyami Brown

OK...thank you for taking time to find that. I still stand by my point.

Lots of chatter locally about Belichick heading to UNC. I would have never guess he'd be interested in coaching a college program.

I'm surprised it's UNC to be honest

You have more of a problem with this post than the other side of the extreme?

I was asked to find it and it was recent. There might have been more but I didn't care to look that far into a 565 paged thread

Other side of the extreme?

I believe you should be able to criticize any player if there's something to criticize regardless of the team winning

Gotcha and I agree. No player should be above criticism but there is a difference in critiquing vs what a select group of people do which is just beyond ridiculous.

Sounds like a lacerated kidney type of injury.

I liked one of those posts, and I've been critical of Jalen's play the last few weeks, said he played his worst game of the year against Carolina.

There's a difference between being critical and just being ridiculous claiming he can't pass or whatever. Beyond anything else, his contract means he is here through 2026, so we should all hope he improves.

Just saying Hurts sucks and we should cut him is useless because (i) it's not factual and (ii) it's impossible to do.

Just like there is with blindly ignoring problems because of the wins 🤷‍♂️
