The Eagles will get a bye even with the #2 seed assuming they take care of business, because if the Eagles continue to win(even if they fall to the Steelers) there's really no scenario barring a collapse where the final game vs the Giants has meaning. The only teams close record wise are teams in the NFC North that can't have a higher seed because they won't be division winners.

You are aware they changed that rule years ago?  #2 seed does NOT get a bye week.

I think he means they treat the last game of the season as their BYE

Good owner. Horrible GM. Shocker they didn't want NC and AB for Tucker. I'd have thought they'd have taken our scraps

I wonder how his absence will affect the game. He's had better years but still pretty important to the game plan.

Was actually kind of hoping to see Pickens vs Q on Sunday. Oh well.

Pitching .... pitching .... pitching.  Although dumping Schwarber would also be a huge get (by subtraction)

Yes, they can rest the starters vs the Giants giving them a de facto bye.

Guys with pre-merger primes should be on a separate list, in my opinion. Might be an explosive take to the older guys, I don't know. But I can't rationalize Don Hutson vs. Randy Moss as an apples to apples comparison no matter what anybody says.

I actually agree with you about Sharpe. 3 1st Team All-Pros in 7 years is insane.

Criteria for me: 5+ years of elite play, stats/accomplishments, wow/dominant quality,  and, perhaps most arguable, some speculative adjustment based on QB quality (Marvin Harrison was not as good as Larry Fitz despite having more gawdy stat years).

Jerry Rice

Randy Moss

Terrell Owens

Calvin Johnson

Larry Fitzgerald

Antonio Brown

Sterling Sharpe

Tyreek Hill

Cris Carter

(Like a 5 guy conversation for 10th. Had Harrison here, but ehhh. Put a guy like Torry Holt with prime Peyton Manning and I think he puts up insane stats, better than Harrison's. Hell, put Larry Fitz with prime Peyton and I think he gets within shouting distance of Rice's records.)

I have to stand up for Marvin Harrison. He was the most precise WR I've ever seen. He could get a to a spot, on time, better than anyone who ever played. Manning could make his throws blindfolded; Harrison was always right there. He was not the physical marvel that TO or Megatron was but he was as close to technically perfect as anyone who ever played, better even than Rice. Never early, never late, always just right.

According to @BigEFly, Hurts is actually getting through his progressions quicker, and this is the biggest issue.  He's much better at it than his rookie year.  I've read all the excuses people make for Hurts, but this one literally made me laugh my ass off.

Fran Duffy, who most people respect, said the same thing after watching the film.  Said he was moving off a read too quickly at times.  I’m not sure why it’s such a hard concept to grasp. At the end of the day, it’s still something that he needs to work on.

"If we played in Minnesota, we would've won"

LOL

They got smoked. There was no stopping Foles that post season

They needed a freak play with a miracle ending, and a boneheaded tackle attempt by a safety to put his head down rather than just make the play and push Diggs out of bounds.  So much awful that even led to Minny actually even being in that game.   But, more importantly, they didn't do what they needed to do during the season to be able to host.   Too bad, so sad.  Those are the rules.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are facing a similar situation as well.  They are going to have a hard time getting the 1 seed this year.  So, if they are going to get to the Super Bowl, they are going to have to win a playoff game in a dome, in either Detroit or Minny.

This.  Holt was a very good WR but he wasn’t Marvin Harrison.  Harrison may be one of the more underrated WR’s of all time, tbh.  He should be on everyone’s top 10 list imo but isn’t on many occasions.

Do the Lions hold the tiebreaker against us?

Britain Covey is out again for some reason even though he fully practiced all week. I guess he's not cleared for full contact.

Why the Schwarber hate?

Not sure of the exact stat but over the last two - three years I’m pretty sure the Phillies are over .600 win % when he leads off and around .500 or less when he doesn’t

Yes… Lions need to lose twice.  The tricky part is if the Vikings keep winning, and they are one of those Lions losses (Lions and Vikings play again)… The Vikings can still get the #1

Eagles are pretty much locked into the 2.  They can get the #1, but I would consider that a surprise bonus at this point.  I’m thinking they will have to go to win in Detroit in the NFCC game.  It is what it is…and I believe they can win there

Hell… it may prove to be even better for them, in the long run, if they have to do that

Jerry Rice
Chris Carter
Randy Moss
Terrell Owens
Calvin Johnson
Larry Fitzgerald
Max McGee
Sterling Sharpe (yes, I'm putting him on the list, despite the injury... just like Gale Sayers belongs in a conversation about top 10 RB).
Marvin Harrison
Bobby Mitchell (worth researching his story for anyone uninitiated in who he is, and what he accomplished.)

Order is wrong. Fitzgerald has to be number two. His hands may be the best we have ever seen although Largent was so damn good.  Rice’s vision was about as good as I have ever seen.  Owen’s needs to be lower because he dropped so many. Moss and Johnson were physical freaks.  Harrison was so damn good at cuts, I would watch him from the perspective of a DB and think there is no way anyone can cover him. I think Devonta could be but it takes a Peyton Manning to anticipate his cuts.  Maybe Mahommes could have the QBs playing now but I have my doubts.

Where is John Stallworth?  I would take him over Sharpe.

Yes.  Conference record is better.

Who doesn't have him top 10?

It wasn't a specific order.  I thought long and hard about Stallworth.  I would probably put him over McGee.
