Yes.  Conference record is better.

Common Opponents is the more important one

Fran Duffy, who most people respect, said the same thing after watching the film.  Said he was moving off a read too quickly at times.  I’m not sure why it’s such a hard concept to grasp. At the end of the day, it’s still something that he needs to work on.

Traditionally, QBs tended to hit their peak in their 4th to 5th season. Hurts is in his 5th season, 4th starting.

However, hard to think of a QB who has played in more different systems, different OCs in both college and the NFL.

One thing I've noticed with all his struggles, in the second half, with the game on the line, he consistently hits the big pass or scrambles for the big first down throughout this winning streak. I think his biggest problem right now is getting into rhythm the first half b/c they really don't call plays to set him up, run, run, play action deep routes, run, run . . .

This is as much on Moore, one thing a lot of OCs do is call short easy passes to start the game to get the QB into the game, then open up the playbook.

I also think Siri is too fixated on big plays and tries to force them - the correlation between big plays and winning is probably not as simple as he thinks - top offenses get big plays through execution (think of a perfect slant to Brown where a 10 yard pass becomes a 25 yard gain) as much as design. There's nothing wrong with dink and dunk and run, controlling the ball, getting 1st downs, tiring the D-line, getting safeties to cheat, then go for the jugular.

That's fine and all, but the offense is being run this way because that's what Hurts wants it to look like

According to @BigEFly, Hurts is actually getting through his progressions quicker, and this is the biggest issue.  He's much better at it than his rookie year.  I've read all the excuses people make for Hurts, but this one literally made me laugh my ass off.

He may be going through his progressions quicker, but if he is, it means he’s indecisive or unable to recognize when someone is open, or otherwise doesn’t know how to throw a person open.

yeah.... if on the plays where he actually goes through progressions, he is just going through the motions and not really understanding what he is seeing- its not an improvement at all.

He wants it.  Let's get it.

Hurts not only has had to learn a new system this year, he no longer has Kelce at center, so he's also doing all the reads and line calls.

True, I’m just saying common opponents is higher up and the Eagles can’t break it. Lions could lose to the Vikings or Bears and we would have the same conference record but it wouldn’t matter.

I really hope he gets to break it. He seems like a great guy and he's just really happy playing here. I know a lot of people want him to rest but I don't think we need to worry about that. He's not taking much of a hit with almost 4yds before contact

Yeah it's a no brainer.  Let this organization finally have someone that has an all time season.

Guess he found looking at the Fran clips I posted too much work.  I watched that and couldn’t see any other conclusion than the one made by Duffy.  It’s why I hate still photos and conclusions developed solely from them.

Thanks Jalen.

First win against the Saints that the Eagles had had at that point since 2015.  He has since gone undefeated against the Saints for a 3-0 career record against them meanwhile the Eagles have gone 3-1 against the Saints in that same time span. This season he became the first QB to win in New Orleans since McNabb in 2007.

Eagles have only won 7 times vs New Orleans in this current century.  3 of those wins coming from Hurts.  Otherwise the Eagles are 4-8 in this century when facing the Saints without Jalen Hurts as QB.

Looks are deceiving but you can't tell me SB looks even remotely winded during a game.  Late 4ths looks happy and fine.  Locker room vids looks like he is rarin' to go.

There was nothing indecisive on that play, the DB literally changes his direction just as Hurts moves on the the third receiver.  Not saying Hurts isn’t indecisive, too often he seems to be.  I think that is supported somewhat by Hurts leading in percentage of 4+ second looks, 22% of the time.  I think any of us who watch the All22 can attest to times where he doesn’t make anticipatory throws but rather looks until the receiver is open and then throws it, allowing the DB to recover.  He’s slow on the trigger.  But I think he is making progress.  As he grows more experienced he will see when the opening will occur, at least I sure hope so.
