At the same time though, we need the Vikings to lose one more before the end of the season.

They have the hardest remaining slate of all 3 teams. I think they drop one to Packers or Seahawks.

I don't think the rushing record is gonna happen and honestly who cares?

Maybe he can get to 2,000 yards but I'd much rather see him healthy for the playoffs.

I know that our next three games should be simple for us, but I never discount divisional games. Not even when you have a team like the Gnats who are in the running for the first pick in next year's draft. The worst can beat the best, it's happened before.

With Montgomery now and the rest of their defensive injuries, the Lions could easily lose 2-3 more games. Will be rooting for the Bears and the Seahawks hard the next couple of games.

There are only 3 more games for them in the regular season.

Kyle Brandt was saying this on GMF today. This dude gets no credit.

I 'care', but only to an extent. The only thing I really care about is winning every single game that we play in the month of February. But if we can do that this season AND Barkley get the record, that's just another thing that will implode Giants fans heads. So I'm all for it!

We are going to need him and need him to be healthy if we are going to win the SB.

If the rushing record comes then great but otherwise don't force it.

You need a madman on the team. Carter gets mad they didn't call the false start so he puts the guy 3 yards in the backfield

2 guys I was certain I didn't want in the draft were DeVonta Smith and Jalen Carter. Now they are the two players I enjoy watching the most. Carter's game is incredible. I'm glad he's a nut. Needs to control it a bit but man, he plays possessed.

David Montgomery out for awhile.  Detroit going thru the injuries right now.

I care. Before him getting banged up yesterday it wasn't an issue

I think Sirianni was talking crap about Shane Falco.

It will come down to how close he is (or isn't) in the final game of the season. If it's within relatively easy reach, they may 'force it'. If it's doable but with A LOT of effort, probably not. Especially if the outcome of the game doesn't alter the playoff picture.

But for something as monumental as the all time single season rushing record, if it's within reach, they'd likely give Barkley a big vote into whether or not to go for it.

Howie should have you in the war room beside him at the draft.

Howie -- "We're on the clock.  We're thinking either Player A or Player B -- what are your thoughts?"

YOU -- "Gotta be Player A."

Howie -- "Get Player B on the phone!!"

Speaking of the Vikings, they're gonna let Darnold go after this season, but I can't see any team who would pay him big money. The Giants will draft a QB, the Raiders will draft a QB. He's not gonna go back to the Jets. All the other bad teams have QBs.

Maybe the Steelers if they fizzle out and decide to part with Wilson?

I guess a team that drafts a QB could also sign Darnold to start for a year, but would he go to a team that's drafting a QB in the top 5 knowing he'd be signing in a place that has no future plans for him. I don't see a fit really.

I haven’t seen a flag for that once this year in any game tho. Can’t expect it when they have been consistently not calling it

I think they threw it when Godson had his leg snapped in two.

LOL, I had my reasons. I was the ring leader of the Kyle Pitts fan club. I was very skeptical of DeVonta's weight and that he wouldn't run.

With Carter, I thought he looked dominant at times at UGA but wasn't consistent enough. He looked lazy and I didn't like his attitude with the stuff that had happened there. He seemed to lackadaisical in taking any responsibility for his actions off the field.

At this point, I'd rather Barkley win SB MVP than break the rushing record.

That's why you keep Dean, Smith, and Davis around.

I'm exactly in the same boat you are; I wouldn't have selected either of them at the time, and the Eagles very seldom draft any 1st/2nd round prospect I have my eyes on.

Hurts deserves MVP if the Eagles end up with the #1 seed.  He's actually out performing 2022 in a number of areas

Going into that draft, I wanted Carter if he fell but didn't think he'd make it to us.

The guy I wanted if Carter was gone? Nolan Smith.

We actually did the same thing this year - I wanted Q, but figured he'd be gone and we'd take DeJean.

On the other side, I felt the same way about getting Bunkley and Justice in 2006, so...yeah, better to be lucky than good.

Going from close to the worst defense last year (30th I believe) to the best in one offseason is unreal. Combination of better coaching, improvement in young guys (Carter, Smith, JD, Reed) and serious talent upgrades (Q for JB, Coop for Maddox, CJGJ for Byard, Baun and Dean for the dreck of last year). The exciting part -- it is one of the youngest defenses in the league too. Hopefully we can keep most of it together.

Everyone in the media talks about the offense, and somehow a defense that hasn't given up more than 17 points outside of garbage time since the bye is being overlooked. And we played some good offenses -- CIN, WSH, BAL, etc.

Reminds me a lot of the 2001 eagles defense that only gave up more than 21 points once all year and was to the rams in the nfc title game. Heck they only gave up 20 points in 5 of their 19 games.
