I'll say this for the third time re: hip drop tackles. The league is NOT calling them on the field this year, only rolling out enforcement through fines. Next year is when we'll see on field calls implemented.

You guys do not want refs throwing flags for hip drop tackles, especially if you already consider the officiating to be poor. There’s too many elements to it for a ref to see and determine in real time. Having them throw flags for what they think is a hip drop would be a disaster.

This might be the first one I remember seeing this season - tempest in a teapot, typical league overreaction.

I just rewatched the play and Carter clearly hit Heyward before the ball was kicked.  We got a break there.  Also, those two weren't even engaged at all on the play.  Carter just strolled slowing forward and clocked him.  Really bad play.

Eagles outgained the Steelers by more than any team in Tomlin’s career there

I want this as an official poster.

If you frame that and hang it in your bedroom, please make sure to save some hot girls for the rest of us!

Hate to beat an old, dead horse but if they had taken care of business vs Atlanta we'd be sitting pretty right now.

Could have lost to GB, NO, CLE, CAR...even the Commanders and Jacksonville games were in doubt. Can't complain about 12-2.

I thought it was getting flagged this year

Jalen is a crazy person and I don't think you can reel him in nor should. Just fine him heavily this week and see if the loss in money bothers him.

What a contrast

Are they past 20 yet? Last I saw they had 18 or 19

Oops. Definitely before the kick. My bad. Refs’ bad too.

Was it deacon Jones who could break a helmet with his helmet slap back when it was a legal move? I love the throwback physicality from Carter (since he's on our team).

Just a single Eagles win or a Wash loss and the #2 seed is secure.  Depending on what Det and Minn do we should have plenty opportunity to rest guys the last two weeks.

It was a similar thing with Boston Scott.  I think you underestimate the value of having a guy like that to call on who you can trust late in the year.

I love what he does at the end of the year for us.  But he's still a guy who is easily replaced with a more talented RB. One who might even be good every week of the season.

Current team rankings

Offense overall: 6
Pass offense: 28
Run offense: 1
Points: 8

Defense overall: 1
Pass defense: 1
Run defense: 7
Points: 3

Obvious standout is passing offense which we all knew. But if they can do more of what they did yesterday that will help. He was a top 5 QB in week 15. They have a top defense and running game which is good for end of the season and playoff push and colder weather.

He cries to the refs constantly, was a sore loser against the Bills last year and complained to Allen about the refs instead of congratulating him, whined about the one time the refs made a call against them that cost a game ironically not bothered when it constantly goes in their favor. Watching the Netflix QB series he was annoying af. He's entitled, spoiled and has never had to be on a losing team with talent around him and struggle. He's a good player but I hate his attitude. At least Tom Brady I respected him even if I didn't always like him.

I hated him so much after the drama with Allen. Ironically, he was complaining about a good call by the refs.

Would they be content with the #2 if the ability to get the 1st was still available?

Yup - aside from the slide dropping the head into the hit zone, a lot of times the QB also bounces the back of their head off the turf.  That double tap ain't good.

My niece just got that in a basketball collision.  Concussion caused by the collision of her head bouncing on the floor.

When we get to these important games it is more important to have a backup guy who is solid and isn't going to make a big mistake then to have some guy who is "talented".  In any case, I'm not much of a Gainwell fan.

Oof - that's rough.

You need a madman on the team. Carter gets mad they didn't call the false start so he puts the guy 3 yards in the backfield

Best WR this team has ever had. And I feel like they only tap into 75% of his ability.
