Speaking of the Vikings, they're gonna let Darnold go after this season, but I can't see any team who would pay him big money. The Giants will draft a QB, the Raiders will draft a QB. He's not gonna go back to the Jets. All the other bad teams have QBs.

Maybe the Steelers if they fizzle out and decide to part with Wilson?

I guess a team that drafts a QB could also sign Darnold to start for a year, but would he go to a team that's drafting a QB in the top 5 knowing he'd be signing in a place that has no future plans for him. I don't see a fit really.

Seahawks, Steelers, Colts, Jets, Titans and Saints are all teams i could see making a run at him.

Kyle Brandt is a national treasure.

He does rewatchable podcasts with Bill Simmons and is hysterical..

Barkley = MVP

Yesterday proved that even with Barkley being a total non-factor the Eagles were able to beat one of the league's best teams because of Hurts.  That's not happening the other way around if Pickett was playing instead of Hurts.

Colts? Probably give Richardson more time…

We lose majority of our games without Barkley. Barkley = MVP

There are only 3 more games for them in the regular season.

I am aware.

There is an alternate universe where Harris doesn't drop the toss and the Steelers tie the game.  Or where we don't benefit from unsportsmanlike and tripping personal fouls.

The defense was awesome at the beginning of the game, but the Steelers started to figure things out.  They started to run at our perimeter.  Wilson had some big scrambles.

The offense holding on the ball was a huge part of the defense's success.

Every game can be what if'd to a different outcome. The Steelers still had a possession after the fumble and could not do anything with it.    It seemed like there wasn't a lot the Steelers could do consistently.  Their one TD drive came as the result of a penalty, relatively short QB scramble and then the pass to Friermouth that was nearly intercepted.  It didn't seem like the defense was unprepared and players were open or there were big gaps in the scheme that were exploited.

I will say it was much different than the game agains the Ravens.  The offense killed the clock in the second half.

The Giants also may make a run depending on what happens with their head coach.

Kyle Brandt was saying this on GMF today. This dude gets no credit.

The players seem to like him and do give him credit.  I do think his antics are good at keeping them with a chip on their shoulders.

Imagine playing the Chiefs in the Super Bowl but Wentz is the starting QB. I’d both love and hate that.

I wouldn't be too sure about the first part.  The Vikings let Keenum go after a 13-3 season because they thought Kirk Cousins would be the missing piece as a QB upgrade, and that fizzled.  Darnold will want to return to MIN -- he's never had close to the success he's having under O'Connell -- and I don't think JJ McCarthy is necessarily the kind of prospect they'll simply hand the keys to.  I think the intention this season was to start Darnold until McCarthy was ready later in the year.

I could see a Mayfield/Buccaneers type of match there.  As you said, I don't think there's a better situation out there where a team will throw $50M+ at Darnold.  If he takes $40M/yr for a couple of seasons I think the Vikings would evaluate how long Darnold can keep McCarthy on the bench.

Their investment in McCarthy is only $5.5M per season.  Somewhere around $40M would still fit within budget.

I care. Before him getting banged up yesterday it wasn't an issue

I don't.  More worried about him being healthy for the playoffs.

Like i said, if it happens then great.

Definitely could be the team, but you wonder if they get owner mandate to stick with Richardson.

It has been reported they plan to not sign him. Maybe those reports are wrong, but it's been reported.

It will come down to how close he is (or isn't) in the final game of the season. If it's within relatively easy reach, they may 'force it'. If it's doable but with A LOT of effort, probably not. Especially if the outcome of the game doesn't alter the playoff picture.

But for something as monumental as the all time single season rushing record, if it's within reach, they'd likely give Barkley a big vote into whether or not to go for it.

Agree.  Next game will probably determine how achievable it is.  If he has another 60 yards rushing then it's not going to happen.  He has 150 plus then OK.  I just don't want him being over worked before the post season.

Richardson is going into his third season. The time to sit him was last season. At this point he’s way behind schedule in his development and needs the reps. You can’t sign a guy to play ahead of him.

You need a madman on the team. Carter gets mad they didn't call the false start so he puts the guy 3 yards in the backfield

Nolan Smith also gave up no ground and made a nice play on that carry too.

He has also improved some this season.

Maybe SF brings him back and kicks Purdy to the curb.  Especially if Purdy wants top of the market.

Doubtful but who knows.

There are definitely fans that would love for Hurts to beat Wentz in the SB

That would be a very smart move by SF, so I hope it doesn't happen. I pray they give a Dak sized contract to Purdy.

Yeah, he has.

The Colts REALLY screwed up his career so far. How they decided to head into last season with him as the starter is beyond me.

Everyone knew the deal with Richardson: possibly the greatest physical talent to ever play the position, but was among the most raw prospects to ever get a look in the first 100 picks.

The Colts should have drafted him, signed a veteran, and then brought in top tier OL and receiving targets. Sit Richardson AT LEAST the first half of the 2023 season until you know he has command of the offense.

Instead they threw him in the meat grinder, got him injured for a full season, tossed him in again, again stunted his development, and now he’s just starting to make improvement as he’s 18 months behind schedule.

Absolutely shameful stupidity from that organization.
