The general managers and scouts I've talked to have Warren in the 2nd round. Eagles wouldn't go TE in the first round anyway.

But I'd always take another James Franklin product. They've been coached to win.

Yup.  Works just fine with a JAG TE.  The defense on the other hand needs a strong pass rush.   EDGE > TE always.

 

A mid round TE will be just fine.  Warren is a crazy stud, but unless they want to re-evaluate and restructure the offense to showcase the TE, he's a massive luxury.  Not enough targets to go around for all these guys as is.

I will forever laugh and disagree at awful takes people have about not needing a great TE.  It's no coincidence that teams that win Super Bowls and even play in Super Bowls have a great TE.

Of the past 10 Super Bowl winners, only the Rams did not have a great TE.  Of all teams that have made thr last 10 Super Bowls the only teams that did not have a great TE were the Rams, Bengals and Seahawks.  Everyone else had a top end TE.

Warren has the grear value you don't see in a lot of TEs these days that Goedert also has amd that's thr ability to be a good blocker in addition to being a good receiving target.

Because the Pats/Bucs had Gronk and the Chiefs had Kelce, people misunderstand correlation & causation.

Yeah the two greatest tight ends to play the game didn't have any impact on that.

Ertz didn't have any impact on the Eagles winning a Super Bowl.  Kittle hasn't had any impact on the 49ers making multiple Super Bowl runs.  Greg Olsen had no impact on the Panthers making a run to the Super Bowl.  Goedert just along for the ride in 2022, not playing any role in the team's success.
