Not sure why the Steelers were punting. Need 2 scores and under 10 left. I get 4th and 12 but really punting it you might not get the ball back until 5 mins with how the defense had looked most of the game and might ultimately be down 3 scores.

Good let them lose, i hate the Steelers more than any team in the league

Steelers are frauds, their offense stinks, it's a miracle they got to 10 wins tbh. Especially when Fields started for like a month and despite how much the national media tried to paint it like he was playing well, he wasn't. He was pretty awful.

Meh, wouldn’t. He has rare talent and is NFL proven. At the end of the day 6th round picks rarely make a team as talented as the eagles.

The Steelers are good. They turn everything into a rock fight, and it's hard to beat great teams like that consistently.

I think Steelers are a playoff caliber team but not a SB contending team. Frankly they might lose out as they got the chiefs and bengals next. Chiefs win they clinch the 1 seed and bengals might need that game to get into the playoffs. Might lose 6 of their last 8.

Calcaretta is a 6th round pick who has played well this season in Goedert’s absence.

Edit to add:

Like I said earlier, it’s a deep TE draft. There’s quality TE talent to be found in rounds 2-4. Do that over Pitts

Yeah the two greatest tight ends to play the game didn't have any impact on that.

Ertz didn't have any impact on the Eagles winning a Super Bowl.  Kittle hasn't had any impact on the 49ers making multiple Super Bowl runs.  Greg Olsen had no impact on the Panthers making a run to the Super Bowl.  Goedert just along for the ride in 2022, not playing any role in the team's success.

You have listed a handful of TEs who had a disproportionate impact, now list all the TEs on winning r=teams that did not.  You will find that your examples are exceptions rather than the rule.  Then make a list of all the great TEs, and note how many times their respective teams did not accomplish anything special.  The list is long.

Just like the Eagles/Ravens game, the Ravens keep fumbling and recovering their own fumbles.

This draft is loaded with EDGE players, and every kind of profile you could possibly want: hulking size/power, traditional long/explosive, undersized speed, and hybrid LBs who are good in space.

I’m not sure we are going to need to use our first round pick to bring in a starting quality EDGE.

That said, I also agree we don’t need an elite TE to run our offense. We need an inline blocking TE who can catch a 7 yard pass to convert 3rd downs. Calcaterra actually looks really good as the move TE who gives us a more dynamic option.

Though I do wonder, if we are moving to more of a ball control/run based offense, does an elite inline TE become more valuable? You would sort of presume we would rely more on shorter high percentage passes to the TE. And you do need an excellent blocker to play this style to its highest potential.

Fred Johnson or Tyler Steen can become your inline blocking TE.

What happens with Sweat & Milton in FA is what impacts the 1st round the most. We lose both of those guys, DL will be heavy favorite in 1st round for Eagles. If one is retained, I think Eagles go for Lane’s eventual replacement

Calcaterra is basically a poor man’s Pitts, but with so many concussions he’s already retired from football once.

Yes, Calcaterra was a nice risk/reward proposition because he had high end talent which was pushed down in the draft due to extreme injury considerations.

Much better to draft an inline TE in the 4th or 5th and grab a discounted hyper talent with an even later pick. Add those 2 to Dallas and Calcaterra and you’ve got high end depth which can handle multiple injuries.

In some packages, sure, but what you really want is a legitimate receiving threat.

The problem with looking for Lane’s replacement is this is one of the weakest OT classes in a while.

We’d be better off trading down and pushing draft capital into next year so we can target a proper replacement.

Out of all these plays, the Stingley holding call is the closest to being a good call. The ball boy didn't call timeout, but he directed the ref to AR. You CAN'T do that. Huge plays that decide the game going the way of the Chiefs week in and week out. This is flat out bad.

Didn't watch the game so I'm confused on the last tweet. What is everyone complaining about? Looks like an incomplete because the ball was going forward

5/7 AFC playoff teams clinched

3/7 NFC playoff teams clinched

I feel like even the unclinched playoff teams will make it, but The teams on outside looking in for playoffs have favorable schedules. Gonna be interesting seeing if Bengals, Dolphins, Colts, Cowboys etc can pull it off

Yup.  Works just fine with a JAG TE.  The defense on the other hand needs a strong pass rush.   EDGE > TE always.

A mid round TE will be just fine.  Warren is a crazy stud, but unless they want to re-evaluate and restructure the offense to showcase the TE, he's a massive luxury.  Not enough targets to go around for all these guys as is.

BPA and if Warren is the BPA especially as Goedert ages and costs, take him. Moore loves TEs and FBs and could really have some interesting looks with Warren if his play transfers to the NFL.

I don’t for a second think Harris, Tarron Jackson or KJ Henry have value over Jenkins.  Neither Jackson nor Henry have been active and Harris has been pretty much unused on D.

BPA every single time.

I just don’t see a point in going after Pitts really. I’d rather have a younger option, but I won’t be upset or anything if they throw a 5th or 6th to Atlanta for him.

Agreed about the OT class. But a guy like Cameron Williams is super intriguing to me to sit behind Lane for a year or two & get coached up by Stout

Curious how much the NFL makes from all the fines from players throughout the year

The point would be to get a unicorn athlete on the cheap. Maybe you can unlock his potential. If so, you’ve got a stud. If not, you’ll still probably get the pick back from the trade. So the move is deferring the use of a low draft pick for 2 years in exchange for 1 year of Pitts.

Just great optionality in such a scenario with very little risk.

Yeah, I would rather have the younger option at TE.  People may look back and say Pitts’ career could possibly have been better (when it’s all said and done), but some other team can try and prove that, imo.

A 1,000 yard target.

There are 7 teams in the NFL right now excluding us who have 10+ wins.

We've beaten 3 of them.

Roughing the passer was called. Thats what people are complaining about for some reason.
