Cold and kinda windy. Expect a lot of designed QB draws today.

So a lot of going for it on 4th down instead of FG tries ?

When we look back at Saquon breaking the rushing record, this will be the day that made it possible

OJ went over 2000 in the snow. I believe it was against the Jets but I could be wrong.

Correct, in Shea Stadium with some lite snow around

This is one of the best gameday graphics the Eagles have ever had.

Big Foot is going with Eagles.

DeJean is definitely my next jersey. Waiting until next year on the off chance he changes his number this offseason. I doubt he can get 3 off Nolan, but just want to be sure he sticks with 33 first.

Ideal situation, but not going to happen:

Steen moves from 56 to a more traditional OL # in the 60s or 70s.

Nolan Smith moves from 3 to 56...such a GREAT pass rusher number. I honestly hate that our pass rushers are wearing 19, 0 and 3.

DeJean moves to 3.

-OR-

The Eagles decide to move on to a younger, cheaper kicker and 4 opens up.

Nolan Smith moves to 4, his college number.

DeJean gets 3.

Except you have to envision this in 2024/25 standards whish is a solid look from the knee down, either in white or green tights making it even worse.

Case in point of my previous post about socks/tights:

The tweet showing the Eagles uniform choice has them in white jersey/black pants/white socks/white shoes but going by this (although it's just one player), the Eagles could be going solid black from the waist down instead of white socks.

Go Birds. Just win baby.

Both Celek and Goedert overlapped Zach Ertz

Brent Celek played 11 years for the Eagles and missed ONE game, playing 4,027 snaps. He never played in a 17 game season but his 17 game average comes out to 39 catches 486 yards and 3 TDs averaging 12.6 ypc.

Dallas Goedert has played 7 years for the Eagles and has missed 24 games, playing 4,655 snaps. 3 of his seasons were 16 game seasons, the rest 17. His average is 64 catches 745 yards and 4 TDs averaging 11.7 ypc.

-From 2009-2015, Brent Celek was the clear TE1 starting 103 of 111 games. In those seasons he averaged 47 catches for 602 yards 13 YPC and 4 TDs...averaged to 17 games, that's 50 catches for 646 yards and 4 TDs at 13 ypc. He had seasons of 8, 6, 5 and 4 TD.

-From 2020-2024, Dallas Goedert has been TE1 starting 58 of 61 games, but only averaging 12 games per season (injuries matter). During these last 4 seasons, he's averaged 51 catches for 618 yards and 3 TDs at 12 ypc...averaged out to 17 games, he would be at 71 catches for 861 yards and 4 TDs at 12 ypc. During his seasons as a starter, his TD high is 4 and his career high is 5.

Give me Brent Celek 10 out of 10 times. He's an ironman, and his averages give you more TD, more ypc and he's giving you every game of the season. Goedert is missing 4 games per year (more this year) and while he averages a few more catches, his numbers aren't as good as Brent Celek.

Celek i think was wildly underrated at times…his prime/peak was during the fall of Andy Reid days and Chimp Kelly era (Kolb, Vick, Foles, Bradford).  Would have been nice to see him with consistent QB play through that part of his career.  Outside of that first Chimp Kelly year and Foles’ magical 27-2 run he was basically a glorified 2nd L/RT due to scheme.  I know most appreciate what he did, but he was a very very good TE.  Just underused as a receiver IMO.  Him taking over games was a treat to watch the few times he was fed the ball.  That NFCCG against AZ and the Miracle 2.5 at the Meadowlands stick out.

Disagree. I think it’s relatively easy to find a solid blocker who can catch short passes and break a tackle vs a DB. Celek is obviously a realistic best case type of situation, but there are lots of decent TEs outside the top 100.

See above, I know what you’re saying but you’re selling Celek short IMO.

The Pats are so devoid of talent i get it (have been for quite some time).  Mayo sticking around isn’t a bad thing if they find ways to inject talent and build around the shockingly very promising looking career that Maye should have.

I could care less about the number…I want a custom DeJawn, preferably Kelly Green but prices are just outrageous.  I don’t trust some 3rd party to get that color right.

For inline blocking?

For matchup advantages. The whole point of the TE is to force mismatches.

It’s not the 6th round pick that matters in a trade for Pitts.  We can’t afford $11m in cap on a 4th option backup TE.  Need that money elsewhere.

Fair enough — I don’t know enough about the cap implications to comment on that aspect of it.

I’m just saying from a draft resource and talent perspective, it’s a no-brainer, all day every day.

Plays with Hurts. If he played with McNabb those days wouldn’t be an anomaly.

Not so sure about that.  Most of McNabb’s time here they were devoid of talent at WO.  Westbrook, Staley, Lewis, Celek, Avant (guess you can throw LJ in there) were his steady trusty go to’s.  He had 1 year of TO and 2? with Jackson.

Have they clinched a playoff spot yet? I haven’t heard anyone say they have yet which seems strange when they have 12 wins with 3 games to go.

The Eagles? Yes, they've clinched a playoff berth. All 3 12 win NFC teams have. We win today, we clinch the division.

Assuming Dickerson is healthy…this OL putting DL and LB’s on ice skates on a snowy field would be amazing to watch Barkley waltz through holes in.

I knew they’d clinch the division with a win today. Just wasn’t sure if they’d already clinched a playoff berth since they didn’t say anything after beating the Steelers.

I think we clinched a playoff spot with the Panthers win, and Arizona and Atlanta losing the same day.

A lot of faith in Steen and Fred J…Becton, Lane and Dickerson have all been nicked up/had scares recently. I’d love to see Keegan active one of these days.

Not in our offense. And not in most. Its a failed premise

Would not be surprised if the pass game isn't robust today, in cold weather you can see teams struggle to throw it. Just hope for no turnovers.
