It's ESP so take it FWIW, but he said on WIP he interviewed Bryce Huff down there and he dodged questions about his playing time, but he said he looked miserable and pissed. It's not cost effective to cut him, but there's no way he's back next season. I think Howie will try to trade him for a song.

They will invest heavily in edge in the draft if they don't trade for someone.

Maybe if he didn't suck ass he would play more. He has no one to blame but himself, he's a one trick pony and he can't even do his one trick right. Hope he's gone cause he's a waste of a roster spot

I thought it was interesting on PHLY‘s podcast yesterday when they asked everybody if they thought goedert was playing in his last game. Berman, Bo both thought he was gone. Fran said back and Jamie was in the fence. As @vikas83 brought up don’t think he’s back with how his contract is currently. So it’ll be interesting to see what happens with him after the season.

Quit reading when quickly the opening data compared a median price with an average  price.  Any fifth grader knows the difference between the two.  Disappointing for a university article.  Just bad math to start the premise.

Oh look I’m an old man gloating about the 91 defense… what’d they win? Oh yeah, jack squat. Who cares. F them.

I think Howie is more to blame. He had a great offseason and he's the reason the Eagles are here, but he gambled on a one year wonder and that gamble failed. The Jets let Huff go for a reason. Howie wanted to try to steal a young stud pass rusher at a discounted rate and it backfired.

Last time everyone on Fox took the Eagles and people were like noooo

People have to remember we’d be giving up 5-6 premium players to get Garrett.

Hes gonna need a contract that’s 35+m$, which is what Baun+Becton+Burks would probably get, or Milton + Goedert extension + Isaiah Rodgers. Then we’d need to trade 2 first, or a 1 and a 2 and a 3, or something in between. Just go through the past drafts; that’s a Dickerson and a Dean and a Devonta. Or a Carter and a Jurgens and a Jalyx. Or a Hurts and a Nolan and a Milton.

So plausibly for Myles Garrett we’d have to sacrifice Zach Baun, Mekhi Becton, Oren Burks, a future Quinyon Mitchell, a future Cooper Dejean, a future Tyler Steen. It’s hard to argue we would be a better team. All this for a Guy who turns 30 next season. Do we get 4 years of elite play out of him? Less? Is he cut for salary cap reasons before the rookie contracts of the guys we would have drafted are up?

So save $1.2M in 2025 and have over $22M in dead cap in 2026?  How is that worth while?  That's a major waste.  Just keep him on the roster for the $7.5M cap hit and hope he can be better in his second year here.

They essentially say the same thing. He has a $3M 2025 option bonus that's due before the start of the 2025 regular season. OTC is passing that bonus to the trading team. Spotrac is assuming the bonus stays with the Eagles. It all depends on when the bonus is exercised and more importantly if the Eagles can convince the other team to take that bonus. The other team will probably try to pushback and say the deal is off if the Eagles don't take the bonus.

But what would Daryl Morey do?

Is this the new Thrash + a 5th?

How do we call a player on another team a stud and difference maker, some people throw out trading two 1sts or trading our two young stud corners...then a Ringo and 2nd suggestion?

Man, J. Thrash was the kingpin to some major trade proposals back in the day. Sure am glad we are past that stage of Eagles football. Those receivers we had back then were truly T(h)rash…

I want as many people picking against the Eagles as possible.

And I think national types picking against the Eagles is as much to do with national people not liking Jalen Hurts as much as it is the Mahomes and Reid angle. Many national people are not fans of Jalen Hurts, and I think him being in a Super Bowl runs counter to everything they believe about the game of football and it would annoy them if the Eagles won a SB with a guy who's not going to light the NFL up with 4,000 passing yards and a 35/8 TD/INT ratio.

Garrett is a great player.  He's not what Reggie White was in his prime.  Carter and Brown are close to the same player.  Carter probably has more burst but Brown was a force.

This also ignores Clyde Simmons' contributions to that line... and, all the other great DLs around the league in other eras.   The 70s had a bunch of great DLs.... Fearsome Foursome, Purple People Eaters, Steel Curtain, even... (gasp) the Doomsday Defense.  It's almost impossible to compare eras, especially given the rule changes that have taken place over the decades.

Sure seems like the Eagles are trying to sell Patullo.

Patullo also did an interview yesterday explaining his role and how he's "half Head Coach, half OC" already.

I would by fine sending this year 1st and 2nd plus next year 1st and 2nd for Garrett plus next year 3rd and the offer remains active until it is our turn on the draft...I wouldn't go any higher than that. After draft the offer would be only next year 1st plus 2nd...Also our will to go after Garrett and sacrifice picks is probably highly depends on the SB outcome

What the hell, let the Browns owner have a go on Lurie's wife as well if we're getting our pants pulled down that hard anyway.

Two firsts and two seconds is ridiculous, blockbuster player trades like that just do not work out, ever. You trade that much for Garrett and he'll either blow out both knees tripping over his wallet on his way into his first pre season, or he'll perform like a cross between Bryce Huff and post extension Albert Haynesworth and feature in 'NFL's Worst Trades in history' features on the likes of SI and the Athletic from now until the heat death of the universe.
