If I was the Browns, I’d want Nolan Smith, Dejean, and a 1st for Garrett.

If they got this years 1st plus Huff it would be a decent deal.

These picks are more evenly distributed than I thought they'd be, I thought for sure it'd be 95-100% Chiefs picks.

Is that ESPN?

On the Philly Special podcast, Sheil proposed

Quinyon + 1 for Garrett
2 1sts and more for Garrett
DeJean + 1st for Garrett

IMO, Quinyon is more valuable than Garrett straight up.

Huff + 1 for Garrett

The only negative thing about Quinyon, if you want to call it a negative, is that he was an older rookie. He'll be 24 going in to his 2nd year. He's a year older than Kelee Ringo and two years older than Cooper DeJean.

With that being said, there's absolutely no way i hell I'm trading Quinyon or Cooper for Myles Garrett. The Eagles have the chance at having one of the NFL's best CB duos, and they are on rookie deals for the next 3 years at the very least.

I would LOVE to have Garrett, but not at the cost of losing the young talent on this team. The only young player I would consider moving would be Jordan Davis.

His age doesn’t matter in a first contract.  It might not even matter in a second contract.  In a third contract it would matter.

Colds never get better, you just lose the memory of what life was like without it.

Ok.  Crossing our fingers then.  This may crash the board, particularly if we win.

Depending on how things go throughout the day, we may need to restrict some things, like guest access, which I don't want to do but may have to.

Hey everyone, for the Super Bowl, let's do all of the Gameday stuff (at least during the game) in the Super Bowl Gameday Thread so that it's all in one place.

There's been a lot of consensus about drafting a DE high. Now the Garrett talk. They do need to do something.

It’s the right year to need a DE. Two all-pro level guys available for trade and one of the deepest classes in recent memory.

Obviously Garrett or Crosby would be incredible. But if that trade package and money is too high, no reason to panic. Double up in the draft because there are a TON of good prospects.

If that's the case, you may want to lock the blog and restrict the ability to create new threads until the game is over

I don’t think that gets it done, probably have to add other picks. But yes, that would be the type of package.

Absolutely no starters included. Maybe throw in the Jets 3rd and whatever other filler you need.

Sounds like things are trending towards Carter not playing.

Oh look I’m an old man gloating about the 91 defense… what’d they win? Oh yeah, jack squat. Who cares. F them.

You're going about this all wrong, sport. Instead of responding with anger, try being a bit more light-hearted about it. When I tell my 9 year old that she's lucky to be able to enjoy modern luxuries like playing video games on the internet or picking any movie she wants to watch on a tablet when we're driving somewhere, her response is "well of course, I'm not from the ninteen hundreds like you and mom."

She knew it was a sick burn too because her older sister immediately burst out laughing and my wife and I had no good comeback.

What's weird about the history is that it took so long for Kansas City to come to Philadelphia. The merger happened in 1970 and they didn't play here until 28 years later. Likewise they went TWENTY YEARS between their first matchup and their second. There was a series of amazing quirks that allowed that to happen. They should have played each other every three years when their respective divisions matched up. UNLESS one of the teams was a fifth place finisher, in which case they would play a different "fifth place schedule". BUT...if BOTH teams finished FIFTH, they would play each other. So for about five (or more?) cycles, one but not both of the two teams finished in last place.

I believe the Giants and Dolphins had a similar weird matchup thing going on but theirs didn't last as long.

There is also that quirk where the Eagles played at Kansas City in two consecutive cycles ('09 and '13). That's because the league decided it made more sense to have the Chiefs and Broncos NOT be paired together in the home/away rotation for travel purposes. Initially the Chargers and Raiders always played the same teams in the same cities but the league eventually came to realize that that placed a lot of burden on teams traveling from coast to coast. No need for a team to have to do it TWICE in one season.

I really hope this sickness running through the team doesn't have an effect on the game.

Typically players would have to be really actively sick on gameday to not play.  The more likely thing is an after-effects...weakness, lethargy...i.e., being ineffective.

Definitely … The guy is just a true wrecking ball at DE.  And I would be literally drooling for the opportunity to see him with Jalen Carter on the same line.  Who wouldn’t?

If Cleveland was ok with Ringo and a 2nd, then I’d say go for it (they were the organization dumb enough to give Deshawn Watson that contract, after all).  But I’m not parting with either Q or Cooper.

One way to make the trade attractive for the Browns would be to include Watson.  That would save the Browns approximately $90 million of Cap.  I don’t know what amount of Cap the Eagles would be assuming if that happened.

See my Watson thought above.  Huff and our #1 for Garrett and Watson.

Those would all be terrible trades given the cost of a new contract.  This team does not need Garrett to get to and win a Super Bowl.  They need Quinyon and Cooper much more and the future picks.  Brian Burns was traded for a 2nd.  I am not sure why they would even consider paying more than that price.

The bolded sounds a little like something Michael Corleone would say.

Yep.  The thought is fun, the overall compensation, which would include not signing 2 of Baun, Williams, Becton is not as fun. Now, if all our prized FAs look like they will walk, I'd go hard after Garrett.

That's already in the plans. I didn't mention it a few minutes ago for fear of this:

Well to keep it real, every team blitzed the hell out the Eagles last year.  Our route concepts to beat it were non existent.  If they blitz that much again, it means they completely shut down the running game…which I don’t see happening.  Plus, they’ve handled the blitz far better this year anyway

This conversation goes back to zone blitzes and the frequency Spagnuolo uses them to create pressure.

Like I said, Covid is going around.  Just got over it.  I bet some of the players have it too.
