Just for giggles I went through the Eagles TD log for the regular season and playoffs, specifically as it pertains to Saquon.  He scored 13 TDs rushing and 2 TDs receiving during the regular season.  The yardage on his TDs is:

18 yards, 11, 2, 65, 4, 3, 20, 19

Then, starting in Week 11 against the Commanders it ramps up:

23 yards, 39, 70, 72, 25, 2, 68

Then in the playoffs he has scored 5 TDs:

78 yards, 62 yards, 60 yards, 4 yards, 4 yards

That is seven TD runs during the season of 65+ yards.  For anyone thinking the Chiefs will be able to do anything to take the Eagles out of the run game -- it's not going to happen (or shouldn't).  When your RB is your best home-run threat to score points quickly, you shouldn't be abandoning it for any reason.

If Spags decides to stop or at least slow down Barkley, it can happen.  Hurts played well in both games.  He'll need to do so again.

How dare you disrespect him like that!  He goes by Flynne now.

I have no interest in Watson at all

I don’t either.  He would be released after the trade.  Including him would be all about the Cap savings it provides the Browns … gettin out from under their contract with him.

See my Watson thought above.  Huff and our #1 for Garrett and Watson.

I have no idea if that would work from a cap perspective, but if Howie can make it work from a cap perspective while keeping our core team together… I would be ecstatic.

Obviously Garrett is the prize, but getting Watson as a backup QB also intrigues me a bit. Obviously he’s an idiot, but… he has talent. Maybe a change of scenery where he doesn’t have to be "the man” does him some good.

If Hurts were to go down for 6 games, can you coach Watson into a guy who wins you 4 of those games while leaning on the run game?

We are.  Regardless of how well Howie does in retaining Baun and Becton.

Maybe not. I am starting to get nervous and positivity is out the window! Go Birds!

It is intriguing in a vacuum, but Watson’s brain is a vacuum, so my immediate thought is that the Eagles release him after the trade is consummated.

Hey everyone, for the Super Bowl, let's do all of the Gameday stuff (at least during the game) in the Super Bowl Gameday Thread so that it's all in one place.

Ok

This is Howie we’re talking about. You can move money around. If they want him then they will be able to make it happen.

I also don’t see Baun or Williams returning.

Baun will return.

Vick’s brain was a vacuum as well. I think circumstances are important. I don’t know much about the guys head other than he’s a sex pest.

It's something I brought up with the Reddick trade.  Many people were complaining that we could keep him and get a similar comp pick.  However, not only did the trade guarantee we get a pick for him, given the # of FA's we have its possible that we max out the # of picks without his comp pick in the mix, so we would gain additional draft capital.

In an ordinary year, I'd agree, but if you look at the upcoming FA list, are there any FA from other teams you say would make this team better? They can treat their own UFA as FA. Rather than having a huge FA group, they can just bring their own guys back and that counts as successful FA.

On the other hand, the Eagles UFA are some of the most attractive players hitting the market. All are in their or approaching their prime and are coming off the best seasons of their careers. Teams are going to want the Eagles players. It's easier said than done to just re-sign your own guys.

Look at the Eagles FA list. Some of them won’t get qualifying offers (Driscoll, Gates, Graham, Harris) but almost all the others will.

Zack Baun,
Mekhi Becton,
Oren Burks,
Jack Driscoll,
Kenneth Gainwell,
Nick Gates,
Brandon Graham,
Charles Harris,
Fred Johnson,
Rick Lovato,
Avonte Maddox,
Isaiah Rodgers,
Josh Sweat,
C.J. Uzomah,
Milton Williams
Thomas Booker
Britain Covey

Nit sure who JB is? But also losing Sweat

I had the same problem.  Finally figured out it is Bradberry.

Bryce Huff definitely someone acting like he may be inactive for Brandon Graham.

His contract is very tradable for the acquiring team. It'll be fine. Just sent him to a rush 4-3 team. Lots of those around.

That was kind of the point… I don’t want the Eagles to spend what they would have to spend.  The only way it would be a great outcome for us is if Cleveland was, once again, stupid.

It is possible that Cleveland has already been stupid to our benefit in their dealings with Watson.

It would never work.

First he has a no trade clause. He didn't want to come to the Eagles before, I don't see why he would want to come here to be a backup at best, a pawn at worst.

Second, his base salary of 2025 ($46M) and 2026 ($46M) are fully guaranteed. If the Eagles traded for him they become responsible for $92M guaranteed, and it would explode their cap if they cut him.
