Yes. All about the roll.

The hard seeded ones are the best

Amoroso's ~ Italian Rolls (6pk) – The Meat House Market

These are the best ones I've found in central PA. They're not too dry, but they also don't go soggy too quick from a cheesesteak.

Yeah, Amorosa rolls are the most commonly available that work. Unfortunately they’re not always available in DC area.

Yup...  these are the multipack bags with the preservatives I was talking about.  They work in a pinch.   Not nearly as good as the ones they sell individually that you have to bag up yourself.  Those are simple... use as soon as you get them for best results.  👍

True that. Since I live alone, they last me awhile, but they seem to freeze and thaw ok.

I see the Sixers are putting on quite the performance tonight

Anyone else uncomfortably calm about this game?

Me. Eerily calm but that could change by kickoff.

Yep, completely calm.  I think we stomp them.

I realize he can't just waste the coach with the ball, but I like that he swipes it out because when he is in the pocket, I think the chances of hitting mahomey in a way that triggers a flag (let's leave it at that without all ref-rigging back and forth) is reduced and yet can really turn a game.  Obviously a strip is worth a lot more than a sack if you get the ball.

I went to Subway tonight for a quick and easy dinner. Not the best, not the worst. It is what it is... a quick and easy dinner.

I order a 'Steak and Cheese' with extra cheese.

The girl behind the counter says 'Do you want the Philly Cheesesteak'? I said 'Yes, but you can't give me one'. She said 'Yes, it's on the menu...', I said 'Just because you call it a Philly Cheesesteak doesn't make it a Philly Cheesesteak...'

She didn't understand, so I said "I just want the Steak and Cheese, I'll wait until I go to Philadelphia to get a real Philly Cheesesteak."

The people in line behind me were originally from Philly and laughed and wholeheartedly agreed and appreciated me differentiating between their steak and cheese and a Philly Cheesesteak.

For the record, I've never had a real Cheesesteak as I've never actually been to Philly. So I have to make due with what I can actually get.

Have you searched for better places in the area? There are lots of places around the country where someone from Philly opens a place that's closer to the real thing.

That encourages me.    Because I think the game pivots on the Eagles' OL dominating the Chiefs' DL and Saquon going off.  Is that what you are seeing?

Trap game & real test all in one.

There is a website called gold belly that works with regional restaurants and delivers  specialty food overnight. I ordered 4 authentic Philly steaks from Jims ( I know...maybe not the best but the choice of  Philly cheesesteak shops are limited) The steaks were prepared and in my hands via packaging with dry ice all within 15 hours to California.

My Aunt uses that to send us Campo's every year for Christmas. When I took my wife & son to visit a couple years ago, they're the only one I could find that had a gluten-free roll for my wife. So we each get a cheesesteak and also a hoagie.

Week 1 of the 2025 season is the real test

Its that time of year.  Just glad we didn't lose more guys for the season.  All things considered, the team is relatively healthy.

I think they played a couple games late this year when AJ and Smith were both not close to 100%….AJ especially.  I think his knee was more of an issue than he (or the team) made known.  I’m not exactly sure when Smith’s hammy was tweaked.

Witten is a top 5 TE of all time IMO…

Wow. Wit is my favorite DAL TE for certain. I feel like he will also make the HOF because of the stats,  and the durability. He missed one game in his career, in the fourth game of his rookie year against AZ he had his jaw shattered and had three plates put in it and missed one week.

I don’t expect he will make it first ballot, second or third maybe, primarily because he never won a championship.

Top 5 all time? I don’t know, that’s something I would need to study on, but he was a warrior.

A couple moves I can never forgive the eagles (Andy) for back then, passing on Witten for LJ, drafting Freddie over Wayne. You put Reggie Wayne and Witten in this offensive I'd imagine we win one Super Bowl.

Overly simplistic, but the way I look at it is that we are great at running the ball and they are not great at stopping the run.  They were what, 8th or 9th for the season against the run and 147/149 in the playoffs (and one was Houston)?  In order to stop the Eagles AND get to what they are good at (blitzing on critical downs), they have to stop us at what we are (really) good at.

If they can't do it with 4/5, and bring more (almost one or both of their good run support safeties), then it creates opportunities for 1v1s, and Jalen loves him some man coverage, as well as presenting the opportunity for Saquon to break to the next level and get gone.

And yes, I do acknowledge that they are excellent at blitzing and disguising it.  But the Eagles definitely were working on counters in the Championship game. And they were successful with them, too.  So, it is not yet a given that blitzing Jalen will work.  It sure didn't in 2022 (but conversely A gap blitzes from the Bucs worked great).

On D, if we can stop the run and get pressure with 4 (with good edge control), we force them to dink and dunk, as Mahomes has connected on only 26% of his 20 yard attempts (in the air) and tried very few long shots this year.  They simply are not a home run team.  And we prefer that kind of O because Fangio keeps everything in front with his 2 high umbrella.

I stand firm on the idea that the Eagles can and should win going away.

It's definitely a trap game.  After that huge emotional NFCCG win at home. Hurts is going to be looking ahead to next camp, he blew that interception-less streak in one of the last practices and you know that's eating away at him.

I Made this post on a cowboy forum about why drafting Jeanty 12th is stupid as hell. Thought it was interesting so posting it here:

You guys are acting like I’m just making this stuff up to make the Cowboys look bad. This is proven for decades that drafting a RB high is a mistake. Like time and time and time again. We could go back 10 years, 15 years, 20 years and I bet we find less than 25% of the RBs were even worth their draft position, and less then that were actually success stories after the regular season.

Hold on and let me compile it……..

Alright, over the last 20 years here is where we stand:

2023 - Bijan Robinson 8th Falcons

2022 - Jamhyr Gibbs 12th Lions

2018 - Saquon Barkley 2nd Giants

2017 - Leonard Fournette 4th Jaguars

2017 - Christian McCaffrey 8th Panthers

2016 - Ezekiel Elliot 4th Cowboys

2015 - Todd Gurley 10th Rams

2012 - Trent Richardson 3rd Browns

2010 - CJ Spiller 9th Bills

2010 - Ryan Mathews 12th Chargers

2009 - Knowshon Moreno 9th Broncos

2008 - Darren Mcfadden 4th Raiders

2007 - Adrian Peterson 7th Vikings

2007 - Marshawn Lynch 12th Bills

2006 - Reggie Bush 6th Saints

2005 - Ronnie Brown 2nd Dolphins

2005 - Cedric Benson 4th Bears

2005 - Cadillac Williams 5th Bucs

20 years, 18 top 12 running backs. Do you want to take a guess at which RB won the most playoff games while A) playing for the original team that drafted them, and either B) started the playoff wins or C) had at least 10 carries off the bench (drafting a bust and then winning in spite of them is not probably what you think of with Jeanty)?

If you guessed Ezekiel Elliot, you’d be right! No player gave their drafting team 3 playoff wins through their entire career while being either the feature back or an important rotational piece. Zeke is at least tied with a few others for the winningest RB taken in the last 20 amongst the top 12 picks, at 2 playoff wins.

If you ignore the bust rule, Reggie Bush beats him out with 4 games where he had a grand total of 29 total carries. Otherwise, 18 combined running backs totaled 15 playoff wins, or 0.8 playoff wins per top 12 pick.

This isn’t a trick, some mind game, or nonsense. Taking a RB that high is known by everyone as something badly run franchises do. Do you see Green Bay on that list? Philadelphia? New England? Baltimore? Seattle, San Francisco, Kansas City? It’s the pre-Mcvay Rams, the previous owner Broncos, the previous owner Bills and other ne’erdowells.

Lines, lines, lines. Draft more lineman, get a RB cheap in FA or through trade or later in the draft like every successful team does. Why add another name to this list?
