Part of me wanted someone to deck him for that but we'd lose a player likely to suspension

Also would have been nice if they all just moved and let his ass body slam the ground

It was super dirty of Luvu

That's what i was thinking. The OL must have been in shock that he tried it again, but i am surprised no one followed through on the play and leveled him as if they didn't hear a whistle. Our guys are too disciplined i guess.

Diving at a QB coming off a concussion and with a bad knee and on top of our C with a bad back with very little to lose but a couple of inches on the offsides... yeah, the refs had to intervene before somebody on the offense got hurt or flinched.

It definitely had the old read option vibes, where the threat was that the DE was just repeatedly run over the QB at the mesh.

The officials should have just flagged him for unsportsmanlike, where a second occurrence would be ejection.  If a second defender subsequently did it, just award the TD.

Something the Competition Committee should look at after the season.

It just goes against everything you are taught about tackling, especially someone with a very strong base like Hurts. You can't tackle him up high in that position, he's already squatting (and he squats some crazy amount of weight) and he's got the lower center of gravity. Luvu has zero resistance (ground or another body to push off of) to use any power or strength as he is completely in the air. It's just a really poor method of trying to stop this play. Low man wins...always. Until a team can figure out how to get under the OLine this play will succeed 99% of the time. The best you can hope for is making a pile and not letting them drive you off the line.

Better would be to tell the opponents: you cheap shot Hurts, we'll cheap shot Mahomes. Or, in this case, Daniels. It's like in baseball. You throw at one of our guys we're throwing at yours.

We a team!

I would counter that this is by far the best defense that AR and Mahommes have faced all year, by a significant margin.

Also, we did face better/similar defenses, at least statistically, this year. The Chiefs are #9 in yardage at 320.6 per game, #4 in points at 19.2 per game.

Green Bay -- # 6 in yardage per game (315.6), #6 in points per game (19.9). Put up 34 and 22 points.

Baltimore -- #10 in yards (324.2), #9 in points per game (21.2). Scored 24.

Pittsburgh -- #12 in yards per game (326.7), #8 in points per game (20.4). Scored 27.

So we averaged 26.75 points per game against similar defenses. Oh, and we have the #1 defense by yardage and #2 in scoring...

I'd give Baun the assist.  DeJean is the one making it happen though.

We put up 35 last time when our RBs gave us 45 yards.  We now have Saquon.

We gave up 31 to their offense with Gannon.  We now have Vic.

They did an exercise on the Philly Special podcast asking whom from the 2022 team would you want to have this time.  Reddick was the first one that came to mind.  2022 Elliot over 2024 Elliot was suggested.  There isn't much where we aren't in a better position than two years ago.

The Eagles went into Arrowhead last year and got the W with a Defense that clearly wasn't up to par.  Now we have a way better Defense and Saquon this time.  Also the Eagles scored 35 on that Cheifs D in the Super Bowl.    If our Defense can keep Pat and Company in the 20's, we should be able to get up over 30 points again.

Another thing to add to the win in Arrowhead last season, both teams were coming off the bye.

Not a Golden Tate fan at all (from his days at SEA and DET), but this was entertaining and worth the watch.

His hand is the one that gets behind the point of the ball and pulls it out.  That replay pretty clearly shows it.

That is your interpretation.  Mine is that Baun’s punch pushed DeJean’s hand, already resting on the ball but not having enough leverage to pry the ball loose.  The additional leverage supplied by Baun’s punch resulted in the loosening.

Of course it doesn’t matter what we think.  We are external to the actual event.

For Carter but the snaps at OLB/DE and the other DT positions don’t support this statement.

That is an interesting statement.  Care to elaborate?

I was thinking about all this talk of how much Burks was torched by Kelce in last years Super Bowl.  Burks had to come in pretty cold for Greenlaw, who injured himself running onto the field.  This time around, he gets to start 2 games and have 2 weeks to prepare as the starter.  I'm thinking he'll be fine and completely ready for redemption this time around.

Uzomah would be a big upgrade over Jenkins as a blocking TE.

And that Graham guy could maybe help with the pass rush.

DeJean's hand is on the ball so you'd have to give him the nod but I'm not sure it would have come out without Baun's impact.

Bingo.

Yeah impossible to say.  But DeJean is definitely the one who pulled it loose.

Because Hazleton can't be wrong.

It's one of Newton's laws.

Let's see, at worst, a 50% Brandon Graham or a 100% Bryce Huff? Easy one!

His trash talk will be 110% for the Super Bowl.

I suspect Howie will be moving down rather than up.  But only time will tell.

Wild card in the draft for Howie this year is QB. Can he swindle a team in to overpaying for Tanner McKee or Kenny Pickett? And is there a QB that a team moves up for at the end of the 1st round. Darius Slay might be in play too. I don't see this team with too many players they'd want to part ways with.

Kenny Pickett, Tanner McKee, Darius Slay are players I think 100% could be traded.

Young players who might have value would be Kelee Ringo, Eli Ricks, Sydney Brown, Jahan Dotson and Tyler Steen. I'm not suggesting they should trade these guys, but looking at players with value in positions of depth. Steen is a starting OL in the NFL. I think we all hope he's the RG of the future here with Becton coming back as the future RT. However, if the Eagles view Becton as RG only, maybe Steen becomes available. Same with Ringo and Brown. Guys who are buried here but could be staring in the right situation. Ideally, Ringo is CB2 sooner than later.
