I'd be pretty pissed if Hurts got a hand to his face and it didn't get called like what happened to Mahomes. But other than that and the two you mentioned, everything was fine.

And F it, Mahomes got enough weak flags I don't feel bad it wasn't called.

I thought I was gonna go into cardiac arrest on the first drive where they called OPI on AJ Brown.  Luckily, there wasn't really any other BS the rest of the game.  Every non-Eagles fan is complaining about that 2nd drive - Helmet hit on Goedert.  I thought it was pretty clear.  He literally jumped into his head with his own head.  Here's an idea - don't do that!

I haven't rewatched anything, but in real-time it felt like Mahomes played the worst game of his career last night. By far. He was skittish, not able to decipher coverages, missed open receivers, took bad sacks, etc. Of coure our defense forced a lot of those mistakes, but some were self-inflicted as well for a player of his caliber. Not sure if he had been dealing with something this year or not, but he was kinda bad all season long (relative to his usual self.)

All I know it was fun seeing him have happy feet like in the Tampa Superbowl. Looked like a rookie. 🤣

Here's my very early offseason take:

Becton - gone, cost and knees, not sure about longevity. They have Steen and Keegan, what they need is to find Lane's eventual replacement.

Rest of offense pretty much returns.

Sweat - that game priced him out of Eagle plans, and he's peaked, gone

Williams - same as Sweat, really good next to Carter, but any team that pays him to be their #1 DT will end up disappointed.

Baun - tough one, how much is the player, how much is the scheme, can't pay him elite money off one season,

Carter - Davis - Ojomo/Booker, Young need a 3-4 DE type, maybe backup NT, Huff should bounce back as pass rush specialist, need another pass rusher

Hunt - Dean - Trotter - Smith, Burks? If they let Baun walk, need more athleticism, Van Sumeran?

secondary set, Ringo will replace Rodgers,

With Hunt and Smith as starters, more like a classic 3-4 defense, I think if they add a pass rusher, it'll be in their mode, and Fangio will use more exotic rush packages with OLBs who can drop into coverage on a regular basis.

Can’t imagine how Roseman feels seeing how his past five drafts culminated into a Super Bowl win starting with taking Hurts in 2020, DeVonta, Landon, and Milton in 2021, Davis, Jurgens, and Dean in 2022, Carter and Smith in 2023, and then Quinyon and DeJean this past year. Just a diabolical streak that finished with one of the best runs of all time.

I think we need to be adding Jalyx Hunt to his list of hits.  The Eagles did not just have two rookies taking meaningful snaps last night… He played very well.

We all know how mentally distressing it can be for a QB to watch his backup win a championship in your place. Some struggle to ever come back from that, while others use it as motivation to grow even stronger.

No, flag was on Williams because he dunked the ball over the goal post (or tried). Carter didn't get flagged for anything.

It's not a silly conversation if you trust your eyes the last 2 times they met in a BIG GAME. Hurts shows up for BIG GAMES. We must all just come to grips with that. You don't trade anyone like that. And he's 3 years younger and can catch up with Superbowls. I watch Mahomes every game. He's a little overrated at this point.  Sorry. And been a huge beneficiary of 50/50 calls in key games and a Championship defense for 3 years now. People gotta stop getting caught up with stats with this guy. He's perfect for this team. Rather have Hurts at this exact moment and trajectory.

Put Mahomes on this team with this OL and Barkley and Brown, Smith and Goedert? He'd totally trash the league.

Take off the green tinted glasses.

Hurts does a great job being an elite caretaker, but who would you want with 2 minutes left and the game on the line?

Um, Daniel, Washburn is the OLB coach.  Can you explain Huff?

Huff sucks... he's got that Jets stank on him and it won't wash off.   Becton was able to wash it away.   Huff... not so much.    A player has to want to be coached... I don't think Huff does.

Sweat and Milton Williams replacements.

So you want Lamar Jackson in Josh Allen who put up great stats but fail in playoffs and big moments pretty constantly? Bad take bro! You are blinded by hate or something. Regular season stats are immaterial. Winning always precedes that. Easily in top 5 now.

Throw Lamar or Allen on our team and we’re still winning the Super Bowl, probably even easier.

Hurts is a good player but he’s not a Brady, Manning, or Rodgers who were literally always Super Bowl contenders in their prime even with average to below average rosters.

Imagine how many titles McNabb could have had with this roster. Let’s say from 2001-2005 he had TO, Ochocinco, and Ladanian Tomlinson on his team. That’s what Hurts has now.

And before anyone gets butt hurt, I’m not trying to use this to diminish Hurts, just stating facts.

Why do we people worry so much about money here? You simply keep top talent in Baun and Williams. And overpay them if you have to.They are offseason priorities as this is a championship defense. KC is losing parts and not paying people and have come down a tier on defense. Gotta let them defend their title. They are both young enough and have room to keep both. Linebacker is important and Howie hopefully realizes that now.

Agree with Becton. More risky. Everyone else goes and has in team replacements waiting.

Defenses win Superbowls. Period.

Heard there was a game last night. And QB1 won the MVP. Is that true? If so, I bet there are STILL a bunch of whiny suckahs in here complaining bwahahahahha

We are not trading teams. Hurts is perfect for this team and just bested Mahomes 2 straight times convincingly on the biggest stage. Nothing else to say here. Mahomes is sliding lately if you are paying close attention. Trust your eyes.

The Baun take is terrible.

This team has proved doubters and "haters" wrong and forced people to eat crow, me included. There could be another long list at the parade speech, no Jason this time, let someone else do it (BG?).

  • Put Howie back in the basement, he can't draft.
  • Fire Siri, he mismanaged the 2023 collapse, the Super Bowl year was Steichen, he's just a CEO Cheerleader. He yelled at fans and is too aggressive on 4th down.
  • Hurts is done, he had a fluke good year and regressed, his passing numbers are low, can't read a defense, only makes one read, etc. All the attacks on his character and stoic nature, focus on winning and his motivational quotes.
  • How will they replace Kelce, can Jurgens/Hurts be trusted to make the calls at the line?
  • They won't have any good LBs, again
  • Fangio is washed up, his defenses are overrated
  • Moore was too pass happy in Dallas, he won't run the ball
  • Why bother paying Barkley, you don't need a top RB, and Howie won't pay for a RB anyway
  • Howie drafted too many Georgia Dawgs (BustDawgs)
  • AJ Brown changed his profile pic he wants to be traded, he's unhappy, he read a book on the sideline
  • Smitty won't sign here because Hurts can't get him the ball
  • Jordan Davis is too overweight and out of shape
  • Carter is a liability, his legal trouble from college, he fell in the draft for a reason
  • Goedert is always hurt and he's overrated
  • Why did they draft Dickerson in the 2nd, he's too injury prone
  • CJ Gardner-Johnson is overrated
  • Nakobe Dean is a bust
  • Nolan Smith hasn't done anything in his rookie year, bust?
  • Brandon Graham is too old, he's just a part-time rotational role player
  • Lane Johnson is great but he's having too many injuries, need his replacement
  • Becton was a bust from a bad organization
  • Baun is just a special teams role player, who?
  • Quinyon Mitchell is from a small school and didn't play against any real competition, it will take him years to develop
  • DeJean wasn't worth trading up for, a white corner? Is he a safety? It will take him years to develop
  • Gainwell sucks, we need to draft a RB to help Barkley
  • Josh Sweat is done, injury prone, overrated
  • Milton Williams is just a role player not a starter
  • Slay is washed up
  • The team got mocked for talk about culture, values, teamwork and motivation
  • "It's the whole team!"

I think if they can only keep 2 of 4, they find a way to re-sign Williams and Baun and lose Becton and Sweat.

Good morning/afternoon/whatever it is everyone!  Just checking in, I woke up and we are still SB Champs!  Philly was still intact when I went down this morning!  All is good in the world.

You know Brady was more than likely loving the ass whooping KC and Mahomes took. It makes him and the Patriots look better.

Yep. He had no problem calling out the refs right from that first OPI call too. Thankfully, the refs called a good, fair game for both teams after that. But I suspect Brady would have been harping on that if it continued, to kind of show that the Chiefs/Mahomes legacy is helped by the refs vs his. Of course he had his controversies as well.

Crowd went nuts last night when Trotter Jr hit the axe celebration after making a tackle on special teams.

The only one I wasn't sure about was really Fangio as his disciples were absolutely horrendous. Glad I was horribly wrong there. How he didn't get coach of the year is criminal going from bottom of the league to #1 and a Super Bowl massacre. I stand by not wanting Siri running the offense though.

I'm really hoping Baun takes a fair deal to stay here, knowing that the Eagles/Fangio gave him a chance and he flourished here. You're in the #1 defense. Also, Howie can build the contract with incentives that cover in case he doesn't produce the same.
