What are "Dolphins fans"?Ā Ā

You beat me to that question.

Ramsey also wants to travel all over the field and shadow WRs, even into the slot. We saw the Eagles play very basic Fangio concepts, but he coaches it with such great detail that he wants players to line up in the same spot so their muscle memory, spatial awareness, eyes, etc allow them to play faster and to shrink the holes in zone coverage. I understand where Ramsey is coming from, but we saw the quintessential Fangio game Sunday. Every player lined up and was basically perfect in their roles.Ā

DeJean followed Kelce quite a bit.

That's where everyone is at now but the obsessed ones aren't happy with that because they expected the smart ones to be mad.Ā

I’m not mad at you, sir.

Something that @Mike030270Ā said in another thread is something that I've thought at times too, and that's that it would help the board for other threads in other forums across the board to get some activity. Like ATNFL or WU or even the Ask "Dave" parody form. That would give Google and other search engines new content to index and bring the site up on their rankings.Ā

As time goes by, try to venture out into other areas and post a little. If you see some videos on YouTube that are good Eagles videos, post them in "In Motion" or things like that. Help the board get more views via search engines.Ā

Man, this is an article that just didn't age well for the dolphins.

https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/sports/nfl/2024/01/31/divorce-between-miami-dolphins-vic-fangio-turns-messy-mike-mcdaniel-drew-rosenhaus-ron-jaworski/72424933007/

Quote

"Guys like to party at night and South Beach is really a great place to party. And Vic tried to get those guys and push those guys to become harder workers and better athletes and more committed to their team. And he couldn’t get through to those guys. Those were the guys that Vic was pushing and they’re the guys that are whining right now.ā€

Ā

Quote

"There were quite a few players on the team that didn’t necessarily get along with Fangio and so it wasn’t a great relationship with many of the players. There were some guys that loved him, but there were quite a few that didn’t.ā€

Ā

Quote

"Vic’s firing was very shocking,ā€ Hill said. "I’m not surprised he landed in Philly, though. People talk around the league behind closed doors, he’s trying to get to Philly anyways. … He’s a guru at defense. He’s just got to learn how to fit in with his players.ā€

Ā

Quote

Jaworski didn’t name players whom Fangio considered loafers, but he did refer to the players whining about Fangio. That appears to be a shot at defensive backs Jevon Holland and Cam Smith, who posted messages on social media that basically suggest "don’t let the door hit youā€ without actually using that language.

This right here is why I really don't think I want to see him move outside.Ā  Ā Inside he's a weapon.Ā  Inside he's a guy that the other team has to figure out.Ā  I think he'd be very good outside, but inside... I think he's special.Ā  Maybe I'm wrong.Ā  But, with today's NFL being mostly nickel anyway, playing nickel basically means he's a starter anyway.Ā Ā

Speaking of great tackles. The tackle Quinyon had early in the game was fantastic.

Yep. Keep him in the slot. He's on the field for 90% of the snaps anyway. I want Ringo outside. It's time to see what the kid can do.

No the blog rules are this:

When Hurts does play poorly, do not criticize him.Ā  It gets the little people all worked up, and we can't have a back and forth discussion about it.Ā Ā

When Hurts plays great, even if and when you do praise him, deep down you actually hate him and we are now upset that the Eagles won the Superbowl.Ā Ā

Make sense?Ā Ā

Dude...you still don't get it. When Hurts plays poorly just about everyone in here sees it and understands it. There are only 2-3 in delusion land in here that seem to struggle with it. There are several in here who not only see the concerns Ā but also seem to understand the root causes and comment on it. The overwhelming majority of fans in here see it, Ā make a comment in real time and move on. They don't need to repeat themselves over and over for months on end to the point of trolling. Then there is your little group of merrymakers who feel some weird sense of obligation to preach narratives and actually wish bad things to happen. The overwhelming majority get it and don't need the childish repetitive takes which you seem to thrive on. This is as immature a post as it gets.

To win our first Super Bowl via a thrilling shootout against the Brady Patriots with our backup quarterback was pure suspension-of-disbelief narrative magic ... but there is just something so aesthetically Philly about watching your team’s defensive line cave in the other team’s offense, extinguishing all hope. This one was the platonic ideal of Philadelphia football.Ā

That isn't who Hurts is though and never will be.Ā

He throws outside the hashmarks and an awesome deep ball. He will never be a guy who throws over the middle consistently. I don't see how people don't see this at this point. This is a Hurts offense and will be until he leaves.Ā

Less big plays down the field is just dumb. This is an explosive offense with two of the top 15 WRs, best offensive line, best RB, and an guy who throws an awesome deep ball and you want to dink and dunk. Like whatĀ

Hurts threw what 5 nice deep sideline balls the last 2 games. GIVE ME MORE OF ITĀ

The stupidest place to throw over the middle is short to intermediate. Ā (Mahommes reinforced that Sunday night and arguably so did the Hurts pass for kick throw.). I suspect Howie has analytics that support that from a yardage and turnover perspective. Ā Hurts does throw over the middle but judiciously and I suspect part of that is impacted by Hurt’s height (and Pickett’s) but I also suspect the analytics team and the entire offensive philosophy supports that. Ā

But when you have Hurts throwing to wide receivers that excel on the long ball throws, it’s crazy, especially with Saquon attracting loaded boxes, not to throw deep.

But one thing that really improved the offense this past year was the inclusion of check down routes and Hurts using them. Ā When Moore leaves and Patullo replaces him, we need to see an offensive mind that uses those checkdowns.

Someone already said it but the only thing missing from that game was Saquon ripping a 40-50 yarder right down their throats. But the dagger to smitty did essentially the same thing.Ā

Best football move of the year was Barkley's spin move prior to the backwards hurdle. I am never going to see anything close to that again.

Best offensive play of the year was a Devonte Smith catch in the corner of the end zone. I don't remember the opponent, but he would describe his use of the dead legs, where he softens his body to get his feet down. It was such a small space play.Ā

Bets defensive play of the year goes to Cooper Dejean de-cleating Derrick Henry in the open field. That was such a statement moment for Cooper and the entire defense. They were going to showing up with bully energy.Ā

The plays in the Super Bowl all exist in a separate category...what a great team performance. My personal fave has to be Jalen Carter smacking Mahomes in the face. He is a bad bad man and going to be with us for a long time.

Best offensive play of the year was that bomb to Devonta on Sunday night. Ā Hands down. Great route, great catch on tight coverage and my red haired dream looking at me quizzically as I jumped up and screamed "bury themā€.

I was keeping the Sunday plays in a separate category. Yes, I agree, I wanted no mercy.
