Won't work because we don't have Lebron on our team.

Well no, there is only one Lebron. But we basically have the same thing

yeah... saw an interview he gave one time where he said he should be working at the docks right now. But hes in the NFL. So hes not taking it for granted. He knows what his alternate reality would have been if not for this opportunity.

Yeah. It can go either way. Im sure that 5th year option is attractive for us. But it may still come to that crossroads.

On the other hand, having that option for his next team is also going to be attractive. Theyll have 2 years of control, which affords them time to decide if theyre going to be able to mold him in to what they want him to be before having to decide on the extension.

I would think hes an attractive trade piece.

I also think if theyre going to be paying Carter, and Milton Williams this year, theyre probably best to get the snaps hes giving them at a rookie contract price rather than extending.

Davis also knows Carter and Nolan are lifelong eagles; Dean may be too if he fully recovers. 17m$ a year from LV or 13m$ a year from us? I think he’d pick us

Do you like 13 million a year for a 15 snap per game guy?

Couldn't tell ya. Was looking around for a purple and gold Luka jersey

@Bwestbrook36

If he's looking for a ring then I wouldn't be surprised if he takes a deal with a team to be on a contender

I think I would rather draft a young DE instead of trade for an older vet.  In a year or two, Cooper and Mitchell are going to need to get paid.

With Carter and Nolan

So, I'll play the 2022 vs. 2024 Eagles game. My takeaway -- the 2024 team is better, maybe significantly so.

QB - PUSH: 2022 Hurts vs. 2024 Hurts. I get this will be controversial, but hear me out. 2022 Hurts threw for 3,701 yards in 15 regular season games, 22 TDs, 6 picks and a 101.5 rating. 2024 Hurts threw for 2,903 yards in effectively 14 games, 18 TDs, 5 INTs and a 103.7 rating. Here's the key -- 2022 he threw 460 passes and had an 8.0 YPA, and in 2024 he threw 361 times (99 less) and had the same 8.0 YPA. He's basically the same from an efficiency standpoint, but is just throwing a lot less.

RB - massive edge 2024: Do I really even need to go through this?

WR1 - PUSH: AJ has been great both years -- 1,496 yards in 2022 in 17 games, 1,079 yards in 2024 in 13 games. While his YPG dropped from 88 to 83, his yards per target increased from 10.3 to 11.1. Again, fewer opportunities, but higher efficiency.

WR2 - PUSH: Similar to AJ, his YPG dropped from 70.4 to 64.1, but his yards per target increased from 8.8 to 9.4.

TE - 2022: Goedert saw a dip in production and efficiency. 58.5 YPG to 49.6, and 10.2 per target to 9.5. Not a huge drop off, but he is older and banged up as well.

LT - 2024: Mailata is simply better this year than he was in 2022, by a large margin IMO.

LG - PUSH: Dickerson is better, but he is banged up going into the game.

C - 2022: It's closer than we had any right to imagine, but still...Kelce was better.

RG - 2024: Becton has been better than Isaac. He's just a mountain of a human being.

RT - PUSH: Lane continues to play at an all-pro level.

Overall offense: 2 edges to 2022 (C and TE), 2 to 2024 (RB and RG). But the massive upgrade at RB makes the 2024 offense slightly better.

DT - 2024: Cox was great, but he wasn't his all pro peak in 2022. Carter is better than 2022 Cox. Williams is basically the same as Hargrave. But Davis, Ojomo and Booker bring more than Suh, Joseph and rookie Davis.

Edge - 2022: Nolan has really come on, but Reddick was insane during the playoff run. Sweat is Sweat, and we don't know if BG will be back. Huff being a bust hurts here.

LB - massive edge 2024: TJ was a nice player, but Baun is a DPOY finalist. Dean getting hurt sucks, but Burks has been very good the last 2 games and is better than Kyzir (who was decent).

CB1 - PUSH: Slay is playing as well this year as he did in 2022, maybe a little better.

CB2 - 2024: I know JB was 2nd team all pro, but Q has been better IMO.

NCB - 2024: DeJean has been better than Maddox by a decent margin, and Maddox peaked in 2022.

S - 2024: Reed is better than Epps, and CJGJ is slightly better this year IMO.

Defense overall: only place we are worse is edge rusher with no Reddick, but Smith has closed that gap. This defense is much better than 2022.

I think the other factor is that the game in AZ was played on a field that essentially negated  our advantage on defense.  The other difference is that KC had a far more effective rushing attack.  I think that is the biggest advantage we have on defense.  Pacheco was averaging nearly 6 yards an attempt in 2022. He gashed the Eagles in the Super Bowl.  They have not been that efficient.  Hunt is their leading rusher and has average under 4 ypa.

If Howie makes a move, he'll be discussing who stays/goes with Fangio. They have the #1 defense and will be able to maintain. Younger guys have already been stepping up this year and it's only year 1 with Fangio. You can't keep everyone, but they'll decide who they're comfortable letting go in free agency. For once, I feel confident in the state of the defense.

Realistically I don't think the Eagles will trade for him. Especially if they win the SB. I think they'll want to keep their young core together and continue to build for sustainability. Garrett will cost so much money on his next deal. Plus the draft capital. The Eagles have built this team drafting well I think they'll want to continue it.

Slay and Huff will be gone

Tbh i actually think the commanders are in prime position for Garrett. They have a Qb on rookie contract. They have a ton of cap space. I could see them giving up the draft capital it would take. Plus he gives them a pretty dynamic DL with Allen and Payne.

That’s a bit of an exaggeration, but we have time to see what he becomes

Chargers are an interesting team too. They could let Mack and bosa go. They have 63 mil in cap per OTC. If OTC is accurate releasing bosa clears $25 mil in cap. Theoretically they could deal for Garrett and go get a WR like Higgins in FA

That would be massive. I'd go after Mack to add to the young pass rushing group the Eagles have

If I recall, Mack is heading to FA this year, so the Chargers may have a need at DE, while Mack will likely be looking for a team who will get into the SB to play for next year.

Pretty sure fangio coached Mack in Chicago

For those thinking the Eagles should blow KC out

Quote

In 132 career starts with Mahomes, they have lost by more than eight points a whopping … wait for it … five times!

From Sheil Kapadia @ The Ringer.  They would probably have to force a bunch of turnovers and play a perfect game to blow the Chiefs out.
