So who do you like for our pick at 32?  Sounds like you know and follow college ball.

@TEW Spot on with Eagles RD1 potential.

I will add, as it has been said before, that post-Combine mocks and draft rankings will be somewhat different than the current ones.

My wish (and possibly becoming a pipe dream) at 32 is Jihaad Campbell. His EDGE/LB potential is off the charts in a Fangio defense. He can be utilized in a variety of ways. Good luck opposing offenses figuring out when he is rushing the passer or dropping back in coverage. My guess is his post-Combine stock rises to a Top 15-25 pick. I am borderline even okay trading up to get him. Him next to Baun and mixing in to the EDGE rotation would be lethal.

At DT, as was mentioned Walter Nolen (Ole Miss), Derrick Harmon (Oregon), Shemar Stewart (Texas A&M), and TJ Sanders (South Carolina) would all be solid choices. Each is good at rushing the passer, defending the run, and have that versatility to move along the DL if needed. Nolen and Stewart are currently being mocked higher than 32, while Harmon is coming in closer to the Eagles pick. Sanders, as was mentioned, is rising up draft boards from RD2 to late RD1. Any of these 4 immediately step in a help fill the eventual void losing Milton Williams will create.

Now if the Eagles do not re-sign Becton, I think OL comes in to play. A few names to read up on would be Aireontae Ersery (Minnesota), Tyler Booker (Alabama), and Donovan Jackson (Ohio State). Booker and Jackson are among the top Guard prospects that might fall to 32 while Ersery offers G/T versatility. Howie will not hesitate to bolster OL trenches if the opportunity presents itself.

CB/S as the pick could be enticing as BPA. If Slay is gone and Rodgers ask for too much to be CB2, there could be a BPA meets need opportunity. Seeing Howie hit on Q and DeJean last draft, he might take a chance on someone like Shavon Revel (East Carolina), Benjamin Moorrison (Notre Dame), or Jahdae Barron (Texas). I have seen Malaki Starks (Georgia) mocked to the Eagles as well. Thought of as the second best safety by many in the 2025 class, he could be an heir apparent of either Blakenship or CJGJ.

DL James Pearce (Tennessee) has been mocked as high as Top 10 and as low as Pick 32 to the Eagles. He is a versatile player that can play EDGE or move inside. If he falls, he is certainly a player Howie will look at.

The Combine will be a fun week. And after the FA period starts, we will have a clearer idea of what direction Howie is leaning heading into the Draft.

I seem to recall that the Eagles got a D Lineman out of Tennessee in the mid '80s that wasn't too shabby at all.

That was tongue in cheek.

You didn't know?

Lets say you are a depth DE,  LB, OL, or WR chasing a ring. You can really help a team as a fill-in or even start for a few months as needed. Are you taking the league minimum to go the the BTA team with the belt or the BTA team with the ass?

I pretty much agree.

My only two areas of contention would be with Shemar Stewart and drafting a guard.

On Stewart, I think he has the potential to be a guy who gets you 8-10 sacks per season, but he hasn’t shown it in college and the tools are there. It’s all projection for him as a pass rusher. His floor is more as a big DE who shuts down the run. The potential is what makes him go in the first round instead of the fourth.

At guard, and OL in general, I’m pretty down on this class. The guys you mentioned all have talent, but I don’t see any world beaters. Are they really that much better than Steen to the point you’d use a first round pick? For me, if we are looking at a first round OL they need to be able to play tackle. At least that way they can provide quality depth where we don’t have much. I think I’d wait and look for a developmental OT in the later rounds and roll with Steen and Keegan as the RG and backup OG respectively even if we let Becton walk (we won’t).

Safety isn’t a position I’ve considered much since our top 3 are pretty well entrenched. I suppose if someone unexpectedly drops you could take them, but I don’t think we’d be looking in that direction with how our roster currently is built.

I think the best way to maximize value is at DL. It’s a need and it’s one of the few positions you rotate anyway to get them reps to develop.

I’ll add I wouldn’t be shocked if we go with a RB. Our entire offense revolves around Barkley. What happens if he goes down for 6 games? He doesn’t have the best injury history to start with and all we have is Shipley behind him. He’s only got 2 years left on his deal as well.

Getting Hampton or Henderson would probably make some people mad but it would be a shrewd move in my view. Our offense is instantly one dimensional if Barkley gets hurt. Grab one of those top RBs and you can take some of the wear and tear away from Barkley and you have an insurance policy if he gets injured.

Thought the same thing. Are the WR’s that good or are the passes that god awful?

Maybe their QB is that bad.  "Catches above expected" can be interpreted a lot of ways.

That is way cool

Let the young guys feast next season.

Nolan Smith took a huge leap and I expect him to at least maintain what he did the 2nd half of the season once he comes back from injury. Davis, Hunt, and Ojomo are going to need to step up with more playing time. JD allows more bodies to rush the passer since he can occupy 2 gaps, Hunt didn't even know how to get in a proper stance this time last year, and Ojomo has just been steadily improving. Its crazy how much improvement we have seen on that DL, Hurtts is a hell of a coach.

I'm still not 100% done on Huff, He's not going to be worth his contract but I believe he will give them something. Would like to see them bring in more depth on the DL, but also know Fangio expects them to play a lot of snaps.

That is where I am as well.  Let things play out in OTAs and Training Camp.  If things are still just as bad at that point then trading him to another team prior to Week One makes some sense.

I don’t think they can trade Huff. They need the depth since there’s nothing else outside of Smith and Hunt. Trading Huff post June 1st is $22 million in dead cap in 26, and would hinder them from making moves next year.

If we do not get Garrett, I'd be plenty fine there with signing Khalil Mack at DE, then grab a DT in round 1 whether by trade up, staying put or trading back even, depending on how that board looks and the vibes on the DT's in the 20's.

Derrick Harmon would be a steal at 32.

A slight trade down for TJ Sanders in early RD2 would be a slam dunk.

holy hell, all this winning and I forgot the combine starts tomorrow.

I don't think there's any way we get through three rounds without taking a tight end.

Reminds me of this before the National Championship in 05-06. "I can't hear you with this Heisman Trophy in my ear!"

Gunnar Helm (Texas) or Terrance Ferguson (Oregon) would be very tempting if they are at 96 and the DL had been addressed with the first two picks.

I've been pounding the Michael Mayer drum for a while now. I know he's a little smaller than you'd normally want in a "number one' tight end but he can play. I have to think the Raiders would listen to offers since they got Bowers last year.
