Not sure Pitts is good either. I’d rather just draft one tbh. Unless you can get Pitts for like a 5th which isn’t happening

Pitts is on his 5th year option for a cap strapped falcons team who if I recall right didn’t draft him.. I feel he could be had for a later round pick and signed to a low risk extension.. low risk high reward

Yep he’s not worth much signed to a 1-yr 11mil deal right now

I like how you don’t even mention for who or what. Just ship em all out.

You know what would be an interesting wrinkle to change with NFL cap policy?

Any time a player is traded, allow teams to toggle the cap responsibilities at their pre-negotiated discretion...but no player can be traded for negative draft value.

That way, a still productive player on a bad contract can be traded to a team with surplus cap space in need of their services for a 7th round pick (and the trading teams can negotiate the distribution of the cap hit for the balance of the contract)....rather than that player being locked into a potentially toxic environment that resents him for the bloated contract...but the team simply cannot trade him due to cap implications.

A lot of players go through the emotional baggage of being labeled dead weight and could assimilate into productive roles in new homes rather than withering away for a couple years.

Man this graph gives me such mixed feelings

Hopefully Mitchell and Cooper remain good enough to climb that list to the top.

I'd be ok eating my lunch in the car for $70 million...

They should really limit it to specific decades. Champ Bailey in his prime barely averaged more than $10M AAV because that was the premium price in the early 2000’s.

I can't believe they don't have Reno Mahe up front at the parades.

Frank Gore should be there too. All the good memories.

Eh it's a click bait social media graph my algorithm fed me. It's solely for clicks and definitely trash. But seeing one of our best FA CB signings on the same chart as I've of our worst as far as $$$ spent is... interesting to see at least

I'm skeptical of Garrett getting his wish to be traded to Philly. (If that really is his wish) That being said, him getting here does not close or shorten any windows.  He could be dominant for the next 5 years and he would make this place even more of a destination for 1 year deal reclamations or ring chasers that still have something left.

I have no idea how they pay for Jurgens and then Carter even if Garrett does not get here but caps go up and void years gonna void and who knows.

I don’t even understand why he’s an eagle on there. Raiders paid him most of the money and he finished his career with the 49ers.

Probably to get dopes like me to click the link

Word on the street is Roseman has been offering Nolan Smith in the Garrett trade.  That's where he loses me on wanting this trade.

What street?

Sesame Street?

@eagle45 there is some wriggle room.

Say the player you trade has a base salary of 20m for each of the next 2 years.

You can turn the first 20 million into a 1.2m base with a new 18.8m bonus.

You eat the extra bonus and now the new team gets a 1.2m cap hit and they can turn that next year into mostly bonus later on.

A 40 m over 2 years player hits the new team's rolling cap at 21.2 over 2 years.

The Saints have been in cap hell for about 7 years. (if not longer) They made a trade with Houston where they got a CB, Bradley Roby. Houston converted most of the salary to bonus, ate the money, and New Orleans gave them a better value draft pick for the player to pay for the cap savings.

Not sure why the second one posted upside down.

Glad you took my advice. I expect a 10% fee soon

Smith wouldn’t be traded for Garrett straight up.

Yeah of all the guys I think Becton is paid less than people expect

At this point Lurie should consider moving on from Roseman if he can't land this Garrett trade.

The issue with Kyle Pitts and every disappointing first round pick...

You have 3 bands.  ****Drafting team not giving up on their first round pick unless it's an offer they can't refuse*****    *****talented salvageable first round pick available for cheap because drafting team is frustrated and just wants something*****   *****completely fried talent that they are now willing to part with for anything because there's no way he'll succeed*****

Band 2 is a really narrow target.  Teams aren't going to want to trade their top 10 pick once billed as a generational talent to an in-conference SB champion unless they are absolutely certain the guy is cooked.  Barkley and Becton aren't going to have teams lining up to trade their talented disappointments to the Eagles.

Which one was Becton?

James thrash and a 5th

You weren’t asking me, but it’s obviously Becton to Steen. Jurgens was basically as good as Kelce was last season.

You are taking the benefit of 20/20 hindsight.  What Kelce to Jurgens drop off did you anticipate at this time last year?

Not sure if this has been posted yet or not... I've always thought that Skip is an idiot, even before I knew he was a Cowboys fan.
