I’m late on this, but I think Vegas got a great deal on Geno. I know he doesn’t make them a contender, but he’s pretty good and can be a bridge until they’re in position to go after their long term QB, whenever that is. Pittsburgh should have topped that. The Giants should have too unless they’re trading up to 1.

At 35 I’m not sure how long that bridge is if we are being honest.  LV isn’t constructed to win anything right now…taking a flyer on a young guy would make more sense.  Best case scenario they get 2 years of mid play and a 10-15 draft position.

Last year they had rice with the car incident. This year worthy with the assault charge.

Its fun to pile on the Chiefs but obviously Worthy has the same rights as everyone else. The police and the NFL will investigate.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the raiders take sanders if he falls to 6. Can have geno start this year and let sanders learn behind him.

Sure but he was charged. And beyond that rights are legal matters.  The court of public opinion is not governed by those.  And no one is bound to have the same opinion as a court verdict anyway.  Guilty people often aren't convicted and innocent people sometimes are.

They’re trying to change the culture. Carroll’s whole thing is to compete. Smith gives them a chance to be competitive, generally speaking, while they build the roster up.

They clearly didn’t see a young QB available that they were in position to acquire that was worth waiting for while passing on a good QB for a late 3. The price was awesome.

Guess it makes sense to do 22 instead of 27 since his number can change but he'll always be drafted 22nd overall. What does PK mean? Or is that DK?

round 1, pick 22

It’s pick 22. When I first saw it, I was like why does he only have 22. Is that because the Eagles held the Chiefs to 22 points? But where’s the 40 that they scored. And then I realize it says round one and then it’s PK for pick on one side and 22 on the other

That is certainly within the realm of possibility. That seems like an old Raiders type move though.

I don’t see anything wrong with the price, i just wonder with his age how much they’ll actually get out of him.  By all accounts if the aim is to change the culture, Geno has always seemed to be a good dude.

I thought round 1 meant his first SB. So my mind was thinking what's his plan when he wins another

Well at least I got the draft number right lol

This ABC NHL broadcast is terrible. I don't think they have any mics on the crowd, or they have it turned down. It's completely muted. You can't hear the crowd reaction, you can barely make out Flyers chants. Is there a reason they broadcast the game this way?

Even with the goal, it sounds like they turn the crowd on after the fact. It's really weird. Absolutely no crowd build up during a breakaway, but you can kind of hear it.

We don’t know but I’m sure at this point Howie knows his plan for Huff. Fangio seemed to dislike him so much

Aren’t we making assumptions about Fangio’s thoughts about Huff.  Has he actually said anything that gives us an explicit indication of his thinking?

Does Fangio have to say anything when he had 1 snap in the WC and Divisional round, garbage time snaps in the NFCCG and then a healthy inactive in the Super Bowl?

Yes I am making assumptions for the sake of argument/discussion

Marquise Brown can earn "up to $11M,” so he needs to reach incentives to make a little more than Tutu Atwell. Makes no sense.

FWIW, there is no such thing as choking that is not attempted murder. You die without oxygen. Maybe I will only try to kill you a little bit is not really a defense. I'd love to see the NFL hit him with a year ban.

Either way he should be on the exempt list today. You don't wait for a trial over this.

I don't see any reason the NFL needs to rush him to the exempt list. There's absolutely nothing going on involving him and the team. So they can gather more information. My personal thoughts on the matter are:

His legal team is suggesting this person is extorting him which is a possibility. But the red flag from his lawyer's statement is the accusation of infidelity on her part. IMO, they should not have even mentioned that as it is simply an allegation as well, obviously brought up to discredit her publicly and garner sympathy for XW. But even if it's true, it sort of lends believability to her accusation because that's the kind of thing that can trigger a violent reaction from a jealous man. In conclusion, his lawyer is a dope.

The NFL, though, has plenty of time to gather more info before doing anything.

If the accusations turn out to be proven, the CHEFS seriously need to pick a different color for their flags. Red flags are hurting them.

:offtopic: There aren’t enough baseball games during the season that they need to play 6 weeks of practice games?

I can't think of many QBs in the last 12 years with more negatives leading up to the draft than Shedeur. Maybe Johnny Football?

He is not a high end NFL QB. He has a pop gun for an arm. He does not run (he has some bogus and useless 4.68 40 time but he was too superior to run at the combine) He played against often inferior competition with one of the greatest athletes of the last 25 years in Travis Hunter.

Cam Ward can skip the combine because he has a gun of an arm. His worst draft slot is 3. The most likely outcome is he goes 1 to the Titans or another team trades up to 1 to take him.

The BYU game was a horror show. He's going to beat the Chiefs, Broncos, and the Chargers now?

Not only did he not work out. He made several teams feel as if they were beneath him. Oh no, Loud Daddy is upset that poor attitude has consequences! The Loud Daddy reaction quadruples how bad this story is. No NFL team wants Deion Sanders using his platform to assault them. For a kid with a pop gun arm? Hard pass!

Dude was 13-12 as a major program QB with the Heisman winner at WR1. People thought TCU and Nebraska were big wins at the time. Both teams finished 5-7

The records of all the teams Shedeur beat in FBS college.

  • 5-7
  • 5-7
  • 5-7
  • 3-9
  • N/A  (not Division 1)
  • 8-5
  • 8-5
  • 4-8
  • 4-8
  • 5-7
  • 8-5
  • 5-7
  • 3-9

They did this with 3 RBs in 2024 and 2 RBs in 2023 who were decent ypc backs who barely got the ball because Colorado was just a showcase Shedeur football team. Colorado was 3rd in '24 and 8th in '23 in pass play %

Shedeur needed the combine but he and daddy were too arrogant to see it.

  • He is the face of NIL bling entitlement. He wore bling to the combine... reminds me of another QB who did not take things seriously
  • He is the face of meddling parent.
  • He could be the next Tebow level circus as a backup.

I can only think of 3 "I will not play there" QBs in the last 40+ years.

  • Elway - clear and obvious #1 overall (very specific to Indy after the draft)
  • Eli - QB royalty with a father and brother in the league at his position (specific to SD)
  • Shedeur - Big mouth daddy saying things about not going to bad fits. (general superiority with lots of cities beneath him)

He's not being persecuted. He is being evaluated. You jump through hoops when you have the chance to be signed for millions of dollars.

The hoops are beneath this superior being from a superior family. NFL teams have taken notice. His stance says "I am rich and I do not need to go in the top 5 or even the top 10" This should be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

No on the field success. (do we want to count Jackson State while throwing to a Heisman winner ? He lost both bowl games there anyway )

Zero special abilities

Annoying as hell Daddy baggage.

My hope is that the Giants are so desperate as to look past all of this.

I think Greg Rousseau's contract sets the floor for Sweat.  Maybe not 4 years, but annual value and guaranteed $$ percentage.
