I’m so happy the DT market is way behind the DE market. Doesn’t make sense, but I’ll take it

Was so full of crap "I want to play for a championship" nonsense.....

I guess the 40 mil per year changed his mind. What a waste of a good player on a garbage team, have fun there Myles

The audacity for Garrett to ask for a no trade clause

Took that one personally, RTK Jr?

Sitting here this morning watching the 50 minute season highlight video posted by the Eagles and a few thoughts.

-Zack Baun just makes plays. Product of Fangio's defense or not, the guy is a difference maker. INTs, FF, TFL, sacks and so many times at critical parts of the game. He makes plays when they matter. There's something to be said of that.

-Through 11 games, playing 46% of the snaps, BG had 3.5 sacks, 6 TFL, 7 QB hits and 2 batted passes.

-Through 11 games, playing 64% of the snaps, Josh Sweat had 7 sacks, 8 TFL, 13 QB hits and 2 batted passes.

-Through 11 games, playing 44% of the snaps, Nolan Smith had 3.5 sacks, 4 TFL, 6 QB hits and 1 batted pass.

***I'm letting Josh Sweat walk, talking BG into one more year, signing Azeez Ojulari and drafting an edge***

-Blankenship just has a nose for the football.

-DeJean has a knack for the big play.

-Nakobe Dean was playing at a HIGH level. He wasn't perfect but he makes big plays behind the LOS.

-Whoever the Eagles have at TE1 in 2025, play action TE seam and crossing routes need to be a bigger part of the game. Play action in general needs to be a bigger part of the game. Just enormous plays come from using play action.

-AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith are ridiculous.

-Jalen Hurts can take his game to another level if he improves his pocket presence.

-Fred Johnson should be brought back. He played over 1/4 of the season and the Eagles didn't miss a beat. He's not a starter, but he's a hell of a swing tackle.

-Jurgens and Dickerson need to not only get healthy, but make sure they take care of their bodies to endure a full 17 games and post season.

-Saquon Barkley is the best player in the NFL.

That contract for Myles Garrett is porn for Micah Parsons.

And then Dakota will hold out for even more money.

Myles Garrett - "Losing every year sucks. All I want to do is win. I'm sitting out until I'm traded."

Andrew Berry - "Here's 40mil/yr with 123 million guaranteed."

Myles Garrett - "Where do I sign?"

Garrett and Kellen Moore park their cars in the same garage.

No way in hell would anyone in their right mind take this job... wait, how much will you pay me?

@bpac55 I love the idea of BG as practice squad or some non-roster job where he can rehab that injury with the team, take his time, be healthy, and be ready to play 4-8 games if they have an injury. I'm not sure he's a rush him back to health for September and play 15+ games guy at this point.

Myles Garrett following Joe Thomas as perennial losers.

Mike Trout too.

Joe Burrow took the money too. He'd be on Franchise tag 1 right now and a few years from the Kirk Cousins exit.

When someone plays the POOR BABY! card, they need to understand Joe kept himself on Mike Brown's team.

I get that they went to a Super Bowl and had team success for a while. He still made his decision to be there.

Agree,  but you don't think Carter is going to get 35-40 in two years?

The salary cap is what it is.

Shockingly lucrative deals (which happens almost every offseason) for star players just means that it's getting harder and harder to build a team around stars.

The 2024 Eagles had an interesting roster construction...tons of studs and top flight talent across the board, but no one getting paid as league MVP type talent.  Good luck building a stacked roster when one defensive player is making that kind of money.

Our conversation next season will be do we sign Carter to a huge contract or trade him so we can keep guys like N. Smith, Ojomo, Mitchell, and Dejean?

Want the Eagles to win one more SB before the shedding of talent begins.

Metcalf is not a "$30M/year" WR. That Seattle "compensation" just lowered even more.

@mattwill you were there

What did you call?  That Garrett would extend with the Browns?

I didn’t really expect the eagles to get Garrett, of course I wanted them to trade for him, but I’m kinda happy that’s over with. Now I can focus on free agency and the draft. Hopefully they can sign a nice depth piece at edge and DT. Then nail the draft again.

I remember someone was saying this at the time. I trust that it was you.

No Garrett. Thankfully this talk ends now.

As great as it would have been, and as fun as it would have been, to get him, I'm glad he's staying put where he's harmless and no threat to us winning a few more Lombardi's.

Us getting him would have been very expensive, not only contract wise, but compensation wise. Another NFC team getting him wasn't a good option, either. So keeping him out of the NFL and staying with the Browns (a semi-pro team), is kind of 'best case'.

Saquon's compensation =

50% of Garrett

30% of Rayne D Prescott

45% of Parsons? (TBD)

Man these pass rushers contracts are wild.  I was hoping Eagles could resign Sweat, but he’ll be looking for a big paycheck too.

I'd assume Samuel's price would be too high

He missed most of last year on IR holding out some hope he signs a 1 year prove it deal.

I do not see the Eagles in the Trey Hendrickson market either.  I really think people don't appreciate the cap needs coming up in the next 2 years for D players.

Yep…and they wasted another $40 million by being late to extend Lamb, and another $240 million being plain dumb w/ Dak (should’ve tried to trade him with a year left on the last deal and just let him walk if no takers…)
