The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

I wouldn't have given Williams that deal if we had a ton of cap space. I like Williams more than most but take him away from the double teams and attention Jalen Carter draws and he is a good but nowhere near great player. They are paying him as if he is one of the true elite DT's in this league.

I read an article that only Chris Jones is making more annually. Milton isn't in that conversation.

Eli Ricks as well. Parker had some really nice things to say about him. This is not sour grapes on my part to say I was underwhelmed by Rodgers. It was clear when he was in there for Slay that the opposition targeted him. A big part of that is that he's small for a CB and just gets overpowered by a lot of WRs. Gets run over, too. Ricks and Ringo are bigger and, in Fangio's zone-based system, being a good tackler is essential, all the more so because we play a light box. With that light box, run support is an important DB task. That the Eagles did not choose to match his offer suggests that I may not be entirely clueless about this. For a change.

Paying Sweat that much is crazy. Did they not watch him play outside of the SB?

Sweat looks like the poster child for guy who plays hard when contract is up then disappears. We'll see

What saying. His last 2 years was 66 catches or 500k a catch. Let Jaxon Smith work

He was their best WR last year.

Hard to believe Covey is already 28.

My man is going to be getting about 2.4 million per sack.

Feels like we have a 3rd, a 4th and a 6th comp pick on the board currently.

First pick in draft gonna be corner

I doubt that…it will be a lineman

Yeah. And he usually gets them in 2 or 3 combined games. Way overpaid.

I don't think the Eagles are fully set at the CB position.  Would not surprise me to see another CB taken with a first or second day pick.

Sweat and Williams were never going to stay.  They are overvalued and Howie was never even going to consider paying them anywhere near what they got.

Just have to shake their hands, thank them profusely, and wish them the best of luck.

With most of these prices today I have a feeling Howie will be chillin for at least a few days. Not surprising.

@LeanMeanGM I think Palmer is interesting.

He has good size at 6'1" 210. He was a good piece in LA in 2022.

2023 was kind of a mess for that whole team and 2024 was run run run!

Its still a day 1 overpay but on that team he will be a delayed Gabe Davis replacement. It could work out well.

I'd rather have Palmer at 12 than Cooper at 24. (on that specific team)

Just wait until Gainwell nets us a 9th

Looks like there’s a good chance Maddox is brought back

So much for two 3rd rounders.

I am honestly not that worried about replacing Sweat and Williams. Sweat is an average starting DE and Williams not playing next to Carter is still really good but not an elite DT. Between Hunt, Ojomo, the draft, and what I expect to see Howie do in free agency (sign a similar edge and/or DT for way less money) I think they will be fine there. I'm more concerned about CB to be honest.

The way this market looks, Jalen Carter may make a half a billion dollars 🤣🤣🥰

I’d rather not trade Goedert but sometimes business is business. Prefer we find his replacement in the draft and let the guy sit behind Goedert for a year or two
