@bpac55 Tom Brady talked about how much he hates the number changes.

A 19 and 3 at the line make it harder for the QB to quickly diagnose who is where

There may be some very small advantage to having scrambled numbers on D.

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

I keep thinking Jahdae Barron might be our pick at 32 if available.  He does have shorter arms but think him and DeJean both have really good inside out flexibility

We are going Dline with first pick, I promise you.

Howie should be showing the Sweat deal to Goedert and his people. Sweat came back on a reduced deal, played it out, balled out in the Super Bowl and then got paid. He should be trying to sell DG on the same thing.

Most of these guys are leaving for crap franchises. I mean the Cardinals? Hope you had fun winning, Sweat cause that's over.

I was thinking the same. Shows you money rules all in most cases. Milton, Slay, Rodgers, Sweat, all to teams that may fall off a cliff or are already at the bottom.

I thought both would get paid elsewhere and have no issues with it. But $26mm AAV for Williams is NUTS. I personally think he regresses hard without Carter next to him.

$19mm AAV for Sweat is a decent number, but not for 4 years.

Howie was right to let both walk and go after lower priced options. Plus the draft is stacked at those positions.

I agree, letting both move on was the right move, and that Williams contract is bonkers. Just seems like people are going overboard on minimizing their contribution to our success cause they're gone now.

Bears signing Grady Jarrett

I respect them throwing all their money at the trenches

There's no reason to minimize what Sweat and Williams did here.  They were both good players who played at an elite level in the biggest stage. Arguably 2 of the best performances on the field during the SB. You can clarify that all you want but they earned their bag, even if we couldn't give it to em.

It's a good problem to have

They are both very good players. However, 19 million a year for a guy who has averaged 7.8 sacks per year over the last five and paying Milton Williams top 5 DT money in the entire league are both legit overpays. The Eagles will need to replace them and I wish them well but let's call a spade a spade.

They got rings and want they money. Hard to blame them.

Yea, I remember reading about that. Either way, I hate it.

Two 3rd round comp picks.

Did Asante Samuel Jr play inside or outside in LA?

Outside, and he's a good player, but I think he'll be somewhat expensive. I'd rather roll the dice with Ringo.

Banks getting 4 yr 77 mil yeah you can say goodbye to Mekhi Becton

Stop getting your fake news from WIP

Pass the torch to Ringo for CB2.

But bring in a solid draft pick to challenge him at camp and solidify some depth there.

My targets are still either of the Kansas CBs in RD3-RD4.

Mello Dotson and Cobee Bryant

There is a chance that division will be what people pretended it was last year (4 deep)

Then again, Minnesota doesn't have a QB who has thrown a pass in the NFL besides Brett Rypien.

I think Detroit takes a step back after losing their coordinators, GB will be the same, Minnesota I have to see how JJ McCarthy plays fist, Chicago definitely looks improved already & im excited for their draft

Is 19m$ for a DE a third round comp? Or more likely 4th?

4 more likely

Guys that I hope we are keeping tabs on:

DT: Dre'Mont Jones, Calais Campbell, Javon Hargrave, Larry Ogunjobi

Edge: Azeez Ojulari, Malcolm Koonce, Chase Young, DeMarcus Lawrence, Za'Darius Smith

Is Darius Slay about to almost be a Steeler the same way he was almost a Raven just to come back to the Eagles?

Not signing Rodgers @ 7.5 per year makes me wonder if they’re actually working out a way for Slay to come back.

He's a Steeler

Milton

Understood now.  I didn’t make the connection between the numbers.  My bad.

The Rodgers signing, which happened a few hours ago, is not reflected in the NFL.com signing tracker, while the Sweat signing, which happened maybe half an hour ago tops, is.  https://www.nfl.com/news/2025-nfl-free-agency-tracker-latest-signings-trades-contract-info-for-all-32-teams

Is there something about the Rodgers signing which is not final?
