Its a fairly deep TE draft. I don't think Denver wants to pay Goedert 16+ a year.

I have zero rooting interest in Pittsburgh but I'd like to see them give Jameis a real shot with a good team. (draft a guy in round 2 or 3)

I don't know that it would work but is 42 year old Rodgers or back to Russell Wilson an answer?

He was awesome during SB week and I like to see him get one more shot.

If we trade him before June 1, it's a $21mm dead cap hit (so costs $9mm more in cap space). If we keep him for this year, his dead cap in 2026 to not be on the team goes up by ~3.5mm.

Broncos D should be very good next year. And they've got a good OL. They need playmakers and for Nix to stay legit but they could become a threat to the Chiefs in the AFC West sooner rather than later

If we could trade for Hendrickson, and draft Campbell, all of the worry over the D taking a step back from some people should immediately go away. 

Burks is replaceable and at least we’ll know if Trotter sucks or not.

Cowboys had a massive downgrade at RB today. That guy has nothing.

Javonte Williams showed promise as a rookie ( but like maybe 22nd best RB level promise) then he got mangled.

Its fine to say his 3.6 ypc in 2023 was due to injury but he was 3.7 the next year. 

Injuries don't take 2 years of playing football to get better.

They mostly start and play 2 LBs

Dean is the other when healthy

Trotter was going to push Burks for playing time until Dean got healthy.

 

This feels different, feels like Fangio's influence. Rodgers and Burks were obviously very affordable, and if Howie/Fangio wanted them he would have re-signed them. We knew Williams and Sweat would walk and some team would overpay them, good for them get your rings and get your payday.

But why not Rodgers and Burks? That tells me it's strategic. They didn't "lose" out on those guys. Of course they're aware of Dean's injury and recovery, Trotter's development and how Fangio and coaches feel about Ringo and Ricks. 

Howie has a plan and told us to be patient. I don't know that it's some big trade or signing, it might be them finding more players like Baun and Becton that they expect to be available in free agency and Fangio thinks he can coach them up, plus you have young guys on the roster and then the draft. 

Re-signing Baun gives me confidence that it's not just hubris thinking they can make it work with signing scrubs. They didn't let him walk. And they have a plan and strategy.

It’s literally what HAS to happen. Possibly losing Goedert - I like a versatile FB for cheap.

I doubt it. Especially not in 2025 given how late the injury happened.
