I’m not sure they downgraded at any of these much less all of them. More question marks than downgrading.

I agree. This time last year people were cursing Sweat’s name around here. He got propped huge in Fangio’s scheme. And it’s not like he had a monster year, just a monster 1 game. Nolan Smith is the guy who showed out in Dec and Jan

Confident saying that while the defense can still be good next season and perhaps even very good if things break their way, the offense is going to need to be better than 13th in DVOA for them to get back to a Super Bowl next season. The defense legit dragged that offense all the way to the playoffs before it finally got some life in the NFCCG and Super Bowl. And even in both of those games, the offense benefited from a lot of turnovers and short fields.

Most of the money is going to the offense. They'll need to produce like a top 5 offense in 2025.

Good thing they did their due diligence to bring in the best OC replacement for Moore.

Maybe not but all we gained was a somewhat better pick and maybe 1M in cap savings.

We cleared a bunch of cap space in 2026 and 2027 by trading him — the years where we need cap space for Carter and Jurgens.

I'm very interested in how Fangio might influence the draft as well. Last year they broke a 22 year drought of not drafting a corner in the 1st. They got two 1st round corners out of that draft and they both started and balled out this year (Q day 1, DeJean taking over after several games).

They could end up drafting a DE and Safety who start and solidify those positions, who knows. Plus after the initial free agency frenzy, Howie will sign some depth guys.

Draft?  You mean we can still add talent to this team?  Really?

Here's the ultimate plot twist. Eagles trade Steen. And sign Becton. Thus, Green is the new Steen as backup swing guard with tackle experience. Then everyone here is back to being off the ledge. 😄 And I will say the longer Becton is unsigned, the better chance he has of coming back here.

We still have Steen for 2 seasons on a third rounder deal. I don’t think we need to dump him to justify re-signing Bectob

You are overrating CJGJ’s talk. The difference was the year he was gone we had a horrendous DC and the year he came back we had the best DC in the league

We saw it woth own eyes on 2023 when the 49ers players pushed around and disrespected Bradberry on the field on our sideline in pregame warmups and everyone just stood around watching. CJGJ brought an attitude to our defense that is necessary.

I see some in 2027 when I look at his contract but not a ton when you consider you have to replace him.

I also kind of look at the FO and Howie probably assume the Eagles passing game is going to make a big jump next year. That they’re likely not gonna be 30th ranked in the league. So if you have an elite running game and your passing game makes a significant jump to being more consistent that can make up for some of the decline of the defense. Whether that holds up to be factual who knows.

True. But depends on the compensation for Steen. And do they really see him as long term solution?

What is this draft you speak of?

We've lost our 2 biggest trash talkers in Graham and CJ. Needs to be a major priority in the draft. 😡

Q likes to talk trash

A lot of nice jersey numbers are becoming available... 2, 7, 8, 13, 14, 19, 24

Don't think bringing in Green means that Becton is off the table.  Green will be a backup if he is even on the team.  I agree with the sentiment that this trade was more about moving CJ than Green

Brown, Cine, and a rookie will all be cheap.

I think the Eagles are higher on their young bench players than fans are.

Ringo too for Slay.

CJGJ wasn’t a core player. At all. We just let him walk once before 2 years ago.

Core players: Hurts, Barkley, Brown, Smitty, Lane, Mailata, Dickerson, Jurgens, Carter, Baun, Mitchell, DeJean, Blankenship. Dean, Nolan, Hunt and Ringo might enter the conversation next season.

Your definition of core player is different from mine. Core player = starter.

Miles Sanders released

The Eagles still plan to release CB Darius Slay on Wednesday, designating him as a post-June 1 release and spreading the cap charge over 2025 and 2026.

He’s a solid backup to Barkley. He’s done it before lol

If that's the case then ok. But they are looking to save money, don't see Becton being in the plans especially now that they have two cost effective options at RG

So Calcaterra or Dotson is a core player?
