In theory, should be a decent film as they spent a lot of time dong practical effects and not just green screen ish.  They actually modified F2 cars for that movie as the F1 cars are a bit too much for us plebs to drive.  They did a lot filming in and around race weekends so again, the crowd stuff is real.  Let's see if its any good when people actually see it

That's half if what I'm excited about. Using real cars, real driving, real crowds etc. Practical effects are few and far between anymore. It does suck that true F1 cars weren't used but real day F1 cars aren't what they used to be either.

I also think Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are two of the best actors of our era. Regardless of what you think about either of them, they make more great films than bad films.

My one movie request: can we please stop casting Tom Cruise as a badass?

Who would you suggest we have as a badass? One thing you have to respect about Tom Cruise is that he does all of his own stunts, real stunts. How many guys are going to hang outside of a cargo plane taking off? That's pretty badass if you ask me.

I also meant that sincerely. What modern actors are going out there and doing that? Who could be a next in line actor to take on these roles?

I found the little I could of such a player and apparently he was one of the better long snappers in the NFL. Broke his ribs in 2024 and was released.

So that's the new snapper. I didn't realize Lovato was a free agent.

Technically long snapper was the one spot we had no one.  We can field a team now 😀

I don’t get it. Best I can think of is either he’s trying to play tackle at tackle money or the knee has bigger issues than we thought

I watched the Eagle Eye Podcast last night and they raised some good points about Betcont.

-how much of his success was Jeff Stoutland?

-how much of his success was playing between Cam Jurgens and Lane Johnson?

-is his knee OK?

-do teams view him as a RG now or is he still being viewed as a T?

-how much is Becton asking for?

The issue is his run blocking is probowl level, but his pass protection is below average, so teams including the Eagles want to pay him at the level of Ezra Cleveland or James Daniels and he's coming off a Superbowl, thinking he should be at least Will Fries level.

Modern movies suck. It's basically all doom and gloom, comic book multi universe crap or unneeded remake etc. We don't get any new original comedies or action movies. The last movie I truly got excited about was Top Gun Maverick. Coincidentally, this is from Jerry Bruckheimer too. Should be a good one.

You don’t think Parasite or Everything Everywhere All at Once were original? I like the John Wick movies too, and there are some fantastic low budget horror films, Pearl and Heretic, just to name two.

One way for the Saints to help their cap situation that is already the worst in the NFL is to sign declining players to big money. Love what the Saints are trying to do here.

Two nice touches are the yellow liveried Camel sponsored F1 and the history it has, and the use of The Chain by Fleetwood Mac.  Part of the sone was used in our TV coverage for years, so it tugs at the nostalgic part of the fan base over here.

As its a Bruckheimer type film the action will be good and it will be a bit cheesy in places, but the right kind of cheesy.  And the F2 cars are like IndyCars in the sense they are out of the box from a manufacturer, so cheaper to fix if someone bins it in the hedge.

Maybe so, but as Reacher? That’s just a horrible joke.

Mickey 17 just came out this week too!

Do you think Parasite and Everything Everywhere All at Once were marketed and promoted like other movies though? I don't think I ever saw one promotional commercial for either. Hollywood wants their darlings to be what we see. Movies are all personal preference too. Sci-Fi and Horror are two genres I don't enjoy and the two you named, I honestly never heard of. Agree that John Wick movies are good though.

Is Lovato retiring and we just dont know it yet?

A fair number of action stars do their own stunts. I know Cruise was notorious for it in his career, but he's over 60 and 5"7 at best. It's time to move on.

I'm hoping we pick up one new player who doesn't project to play in preseason game #3.  Is that too high a bar?

Not arguing that. I'm just wondering who's next? I'm far from a movie buff and don't follow Hollywood stars so I couldn't name many.

I think Glenn Powell has good acting qualities. He's done quite a few genres and has performed well in them. Is he destined to be an action star at some point?

What about The Accountant 2?

I get that he had a bad season, or half a season. But Id think they stick with him instead of signing another 34 year old. Unless there is some injury that they think he wont be able to return to form.

Im pulling for the temple kid to get picked up and win the job now.

Eh, I view remakes and nostalgic sequel as a different thing. I can see how it seems a bit hypocritical but I look at them in two totally different ways.

Here's another.

I don’t think there are legit movie stars anymore. There are actors who star in movies and are famous, but they don’t really carry movies anymore. It used to be appointment viewing when certain A-listers had a movie come out — Cruise, Smith to name a couple.

I’m not sure if it’s just a matter of so much media available to consume, not wanting to pay to see movies in theaters when you can stream it a month later or just a general lack of interest in sitting through 2-3 hour movies.
