The issue is his run blocking is probowl level, but his pass protection is below average, so teams including the Eagles want to pay him at the level of Ezra Cleveland or James Daniels and he's coming off a Superbowl, thinking he should be at least Will Fries level.

His pass blocking was good after the bye. Only gave up 1 sack.

That’s not it. Got to be something more to it.

The issue with Milton Williams, and the reason to let someone else overpay him, is that it seems highly possible/likely that his success is due to playing next to Jalen Carter. And the best evidence o

If we re-sign Becton, then Howie grabs a few guys post draft to fill in the gaps, I'll be fine with the off-season. Assuming we draft well of course.

You don’t think Parasite or Everything Everywhere All at Once were original? I like the John Wick movies too, and there are some fantastic low budget horror films, Pearl and Heretic, just to name two.

Heretic was good! Loved seeing Hugh Grant step away from Rom-coms and family movies to do something different.

I think horror in general has been strong recently. A24 has put out a lot of interesting films, broadly speaking, and Ari Aster in particular makes some good stuff. If you haven’t seen them, check out Hereditary and Midsommar.

Strongly disagree but this isn't the thread for that

It’s offseason.  This thread suspends a lot of the rules in the offseason.

Agreed 100%

Getting Baun back was a win. We lost some expected players but he was priority 1 for me. Baun and Vic in year 2 has me excited

Getting Becton back would be another win. I'm starting to think he is coming back because I would have expected him to get signed by now to another team

I wasn't thrilled about the Barkley extension but he did massively outplay his original contract

I'd still consider overall this was a great offseason

Yep, this is example A. of him doing his own work.

Here's another

Speaking of Tom Cruise movies VUDU/Fandango at home has Maverick and Top Gun along with another digital movie like one of the Reacher ones 3 for $14

Meh I'm also fine with anything outside of politics sneaking into the blog every now and then. FA in general and each individual signing have their own thread if the noise bothers anyone.

No, it’s literally done to prevent injury.

I mean, it’s a squat. If you want to play in the NFL, the squat is probably the single most important exercise you need to do. There will of course be wear and tear on the joints from lifting heavy weights regularly.

But this lift in particular using a box or bench is specifically don’t because it allows and encourages for better technique and thus lower chance of injury.

Eagles signed Charlie Hughlett as a long snapper.

The tweet was by ESP who says Hughlett was one of his top free agent targets for the eagles.

Box squats are great for control and reversing power with the pause

Accommodating resistance has tons of benefits in sports especially building explosive power

The pass blocking was jekyll and hyde, sometimes it held up for 5 seconds, sometimes there were free rushers within a second.

PFF and other grading sites all say Becton was sub par in pass protection this year, the other guys at the top of the market at Guard have signed and Becton hasn't, even 35 year old Zeitler got a $9million 1yr deal done, so the money was there for the right guy, hell even if he wanted to play Tackle, he'd not be in a crowded market, It's either he's asking too much money for where his performance is or he has injury concerns, but injury concerns would've been hinted at by the NFL media by now.

Not only is it not time to move on from Tom Cruise but he's planning on doing a movie filmed in outer space where he does his own outer space stunts. Tom Cruise is the action GOAT and I'll be damned if I tolerate any Tom Cruise slander. Dude is single handedly keeping movie theaters alive by being the star of the only movies actually worth seeing as a theater experience rather than streaming at home.

I know, just a reminder for those that might enjoy other places.

It's just funny, some of these guys will say in other TATE topics "we've already discussed this in the blog" and then have discussions in here about movies, Phillies, etc. when "We've already discussed this in FYE"

Sounds like "too much sense" = "they offered the most money".

Because of those 3... the Saints are likely the worst landing spot from a football perspective.  (not sure the Titans are any great thing either, but at least they aren't in cap purgatory... ironically... if the Saints offered the most money.).

He went to LSU so maybe area ties

My favorite thing about this play is how when Devonta tossed the ball to the ref, it landed perfectly in his hands as he signaled a TD.

I’m watching the 5th season of Yellowstone now.  I’ll have to drop in on that thread.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Will Johnson would be a fantastic pick.

Do we think they would consider going CB round 1 with the selections from last year? I really don't think so, but would be open to some of the names, especially if the d-line position is decimated by 25 or so, or when we are on the clock at 32.

There aren't many opinions on the extremes about players like Jordan Davis, CJGJ, Isaiah Rodgers, Milton Williams. People can have balanced views that weigh the pros and cons of keeping a player vs letting them go in free agency, put them in context of the overall strategy with other players they have to sign, weigh their strengths and weaknesses in what they bring. There are some players that a lot of fans would be happy if they keep and understand the reasons, but also be ok with it if they let them go and understand those reasons as well. It doesn't necessarily mean fans are being hypocritical or flip flopping their opinion.

Example with Rodgers, I liked him and wanted him back. But they chose to let him go and sign another corner. I don't have strong feelings one way or the other. I have to guess that maybe Fangio just doesn't want certain players. We'll see how the roster shakes out.

Now with Baun, he was my top priority and had they let him walk I would have been upset and on that more extreme view that they needed to sign him, and not have faith in replacing him. Because he was a star player for us, a vital starter and at a position where they have struggled in the past. So I'm thrilled he's back. I would not have rationalized or had faith in the front office letting him go, I'd be pissed.
