Knowing our luck, we will slide down to the 2nd pick and get Nolan Patrick 2.0.

Howie isn’t gonna trade up until he knows who’s on the board when teams that low are on the clock. Teams only trade up into the top 5 or 6 this early in the going.

I'm hoping Torts is done after this season.  He has Tippet on the 4th line today.  So now he has had TK on the 3rd line, MM all over the place, and now Tippett.  Torts is a mess

They finished so badly last season when they had a chance at a wildcard I was frankly surprised he was brought back this year.  It looked like they’d quit on him last year and they’ve regressed this year.

They’re starting to accumulate good young players now and need an innovative coach to get them to the next level.

Riley Leonard is loaded with intangibles but there comes a point in the evaluation process where you have to ask whether he can accurately throw a football. And sadly for Leonard, he just can't. This Notre Dame fan is convinced he'll never be a starting NFL quarterback and probably won't last more than a couple of years as a fringe backup. I did like him more than Ian Book though. (I literally laughed out loud when the Saints picked Book in the fourth round a few years back.)

The fact there hasn’t been any trades yet tells me TEN plans to pick at #1, either Ward or Carter (likely Ward).  CLE should jump on Carter at #2 to pair with Myles Garrett.  Giants are probably dumb and desperate enough to take Shedeur at #3

I couldn't even be excited about getting #2 overall that year knowing we were getting Patrick. Such a boring #2 pick, and you can't really blame them because damn near the entire hockey world had him and hischier going 1/2 and they needed a center.

Except the Flyers scouts who wanted Makar, but Hextall didn't listen.

Exactly why i question if he has any grey matter…all the other tools are there.  The brain (tied to muscle memory and all that included).

What matters to me is the Flyers build a team Brière and Jones envision, and not a bunch of guys Tortorella wants.

I've always been a fan of Torts, but I hope they realize he can't be here for the continuation of building what the Flyers FO wants.

I think I'm finally settling on my draft crush and he's been discussed a lot.

Walter Nolen. He's a better version than Milton Williams. Pairing him with Carter would be a nightmare for opposing teams.

Was listening to ESPN radio this morning and Chris Canty said if there was an NFL coaching draft, Tomlin would be top 3.

I seriously hope Sirianni gets that much love 15 years from now, even if he doesn't really accomplish anything.

That said, if there was a draft this off-season for head coaches, who are your top 10 picks?

In no order, Reid, Sirianni, both Harbaughs, Mcvay, Shanahan, Lefleur, McDermott, Taylor, Stefanski.

AR

then in no particular order: mcvay, sirianni, ryans, mcdaniels, maybe the vikings coach

its tough bc turnover is so high and they have varied levels of control over drafts, etc

Howie's trade with Miami in 2021 might be his best trade too.

I figured a lot of people would have AR number one.  But would you want to start a new franchise with him?   With his age, and without Mahomes, I'm noy sure he'd go #1.

McVay you have to put in there.  I also agree with OConnell.

Good call on the Harbaughs.

I'd really have to sit down and think about just the top 10.

I bet Jim Harbaugh and McVay would go 1-2.

Its Reid 1 because of body of work over a long career.

And Siri 2 for the top winning percentage among active head coaches. Already 2 14 win seasons. 2 super bowl appearances. And turning around the 10-1 collapse to go to the super bowl the next year.

If I had to start a franchise today, Ill take Siri over Reid.

Just looking at stuff for the 6ers tank watch and aside from handling our own tank business appropriately, Toronto is the most key player in our lottery outcome.

As of now there is a 1 game buffer between us and them. Where, we can actually fall down to 7. If we stay worse than them, we can do no worse than 6th which is pretty key.

In order to move up to 5, we need to beat Brooklyn at the tank game. We have been tied with them.

We get to play Toronto once more, and Toronto plays Brooklyn twice more.

Toronto winning those 3 games would do a TON of good for us.

Aside from a few minutes of the Drake-TT game, I haven’t watched any college basketball… who should I be excited about the 6ers taking at 5 and why?

I’ve heard Walter is both good and bad against the run, his effort is both unquestioned and questionable - but universally that his pass rush is under baked which you can see and is a common feature of the A&M draftees.

Pearce is also polarizing, where he has the tools but is underwhelming against decent competition.

It's not a great draft, honestly.  Doesn't appear to have top end talent at any position.   Some good talent, but not top end.

I have nothing to back this up except for unfounded prejudice: I don't want anybody from Tennessee as it's a loser college.

The somewhat useful aspect of RAS is that it aggregates the available Combine, Pro Day and other workout/measurements results into a common format.

It's useful information. My point really is more about this:

RAS Weighting

There is no variation in the percentages by position.

The ghost of Omar Gaither is going to get you for hating on Reggie White and Charlie Garner or if not him Derek Barnett will probably come to your house at 11:30 at night to hit you.

I havent either. What I know is Flagg is the consensus #1.

In my opinion, Ace Bailey would fit this team perfectly as a 6'10'' wing who can put up a lot of points without being ball dominant. According to tankathon we would likely need to be at 3 to get him.

Regardless of us being at 5 or 6 they always have us taking Tre Johnson, SG from Texas Tech.

Another option is 6'7'' Kon Knueppel from Duke who @DaEagles4Life compares to Jared McCain.

As I see it, a potential back court of Maxey, McCain, and Grimes is going to be an explosive scoring trio. Id love Ace Bailey added to the mix in the front court, and spend the 2nd rounder on a rim running athletic center who can keep up with the young guys,

The thing that concerns me about Nolen's effort being called in to question is that he transferred from A&M. Which plays in to that idea that he is just a sack hunter and not a team player, and lacks effort on other downs. Considering TA&M doesnt seem to let their guys pin their ears back, it looks like Nolen went somewhere where he can try to pile up sack numbers and really cares about nothing else since hes not playing the run there.

What concerns me even more is a guy like Shemar Steward playing at A&M and not having pass rush production but STILL not being good at stopping the run either. How can he not be good at anything? The scheme doesnt explain away his deficiency against the run.

At least Nolen is good at something, when he tries.

I think theres a great chance teams taking those guys in the top 15 are going to be very sorry.

As for Pearce, Ricky Sapp is a worst case comp, and Randy Gregory is a better case scenario, which is still not good. Gregory 6'5'' 235lb. Biggest sack total was 6, which he hit twice. I dont like his build for his position in the NFL.
