Seems way low on Baun.  Berman was saying it might be vloser to $20M per.  Both Berman and that dbag Bo font think it's likely Becton is back at all.

I agree that that is low but Bo and Zach are nuts if they think Baun is getting 18-20 million per year. Their rational was Roquan Smith's deal, but he was younger when he got his deal AND playing at an all-pro for multiple years, not one.

I don’t think Becton will get that much. He’s a bit overrated here. He had a solid season but not great

If the Eagles or other teams view him as a future tackle, I think he’s gonna get paid. Honestly if we don’t view him as Lane’s replacement, then I wouldn’t break the bank. I’d be fine running with Tyler Steen and figuring out the RT position later. I don’t think there are many good ones in this draft.

Exactly people are nuts.

A big part of the discussion on which free agents to keep, which to let go, and who will get paid how much has to consider the next 3-4 years.  How much you can offer Milton Williams is dependent on how much Carter and Davis will get paid.

Personally, I think it’s an easy decision to pay Zack Baun based on Nakobe Dean’s inability to stay healthy.  I don’t see Kenny Gainwell as a big upgrade on Shipley at this point, but if he can be brought back on a one year deal for cheap, that might be the way they go.

I think they will decide to sell high on Josh Sweat.  A great way to end his Eagles career if he moves on.  Becton I believe will return on a team-friendly deal.  He went through the lowest of lows with the Jets, then the highest of highs with Philly.  I think he’s likely told his agent to get a deal done to remain with the Eagles.  I have no problem keeping Steen as a depth piece on OL; you can’t have enough depth there.

Too busy trying to trade for Myles Garrett and re-sign Zack Baun.

Garrett won't happen. Go ahead and trade for him on Madden. Trade the Browns Pickett for Garrett straight up. Only way your love fantasy of Garrett playing for the Eagles is going to happen

Just for fun this was Xavier McKinneys expected market value

He signed for 4 years, $67M, average salary of $16.75M

Hasn't he come out and said he wants to stay inside? I don't trust him at tackle

I can’t see him getting paid as a tackle. He literally showed no reason to believe he’s improved as a tackle this season.  He was a solid guard under Stoutland. I really don’t think teams will line up to pay him a lot at any position for multiple years

Kirwan and Miller were discussing on NFL Radio how the Chiefs need to get aggressive to fix their OL just as they did after losing the SB to Tampa Bay in similar fashion.  Kirwan mentioned there’s very little available in FA for OT.  They mentioned a few names, and Becton didn’t even figure in the discussion.

Very unlikely any team pays him OT money.

If he's back...and I somehow forgot to mention Barkley.

Baun is back, or else we storm NovaCare and put Howie's head on a spike.

Seriously though, there is no way that Howie can let him walk.

I haven’t heard him say that, but if that’s the case I can’t see him being re-signed strictly from a numbers stand point. Baun, Jergens extension, future highest paid defensive player in the league Jalen Carter….all more important than signing Becton when the depth is there. I don’t wanna lose him.  He’s a road grading freak of nature, so maybe Howie will BearJew the fake cap around and re-sign them all. 😂

So here are some of the contracts free agent guards signed in 2024 all older then Becton

1. ramsb_logo.gif Kevin Dotson, G, Rams. Age: 27. star.gif star.gif star.gif star.gif
Re-signed with Rams (3 years, $48 million)

Kevin Dotson was the Rams’ top offensive lineman last year, pass protecting well and blasting open huge running lanes for Kyren Williams.

2. ravensb_logo.gif Kevin Zeitler, G, Ravens. Age: 34. star.gif star.gif star.gif halfstar.gif
Signed with Lions (1 year)

Kevin Zeitler has been an outstanding pass-protecting guard for a long time, but he turns 34 this offseason.

3. lionsb_logo.gif Jonah Jackson, G, Lions. Age: 27. star.gif star.gif star.gif
Signed with Rams (3 years, $51 million)

Jonah Jackson is a solid, but unspectacular guard. At 27, he could improve in the coming years.

4. dolphinsb_logo.gif Robert Hunt, G, Dolphins. Age: 28. star.gif star.gif star.gif
Signed with Panthers (5 years, $100 million)

Robert Hunt was an effective guard when he played last year, but he missed most of the second half of the year with an injury.

5. lionsb_logo.gif Graham Glasgow, G, Lions. Age: 32. star.gif star.gif star.gif
Re-signed with Lions (3 years, $20 million)

Graham Glasgow’s pass protection isn’t very good, but he’s a run-blocking force who can play both guard and center.

Blankenship needs to be extended as well. I think Becton comes back because of Stoutland. He knows if he goes elsewhere and chases the money, his success isn't guaranteed. Also helps playing next to Lane which I'm sure is mentoring him. Interested to see what Howie offers him but I don't expect it to be tackle money or anything crazy

The fact that they have decided to essentially run it back with a team that has gone backwards two straight years and has clear significant flaws is crazy to me. Dave Dombrowski is so overrated.

They won 95 games with Walker and Phillips (22 starts, Turnbull 7, Allard 4, Mercado 2) as their 5th starter. Now they have Lazardo and Painter.

The wild card will be Crawford and when he'll be ready for the Show.

Shhhh... we're not supposed to say this apparently

Yes. @DrPhilly asked "Despite his several flaws Jalen Hurts is a good QB who has played great when it mattered the most." and I said...

But you were triggered and pounced

If we are going to hold only 2 playoff games as the true measure of who Hurts is as a QB... wouldn't a fairer representation be 2 games that he had Brown for?   In the 2 Bucs losses, he didn't have Brown.  In the playoff games with AJ Brown, this team is 6-1 with the only loss being in the Super Bowl, and one of the wins being in the Super Bowl.

I don't know... it just seems that if we are going to be picking and choosing selected games, why are those two held in such high regard and others ignored?   If we are only going to focus on 2 games, why not the 2 Super Bowl games?  It doesn't get any bigger in terms of importance than those 2.  🤷‍♂️.

All I know is this:  while Hurts may not be the 'prototypical QB', he's gotten the job done in the playoffs when he had a more complete surrounding cast.  Nick Foles, for all his flaws, is venerated around here.  I get that for Foles.  But, if we can overlook Foles' bad days because he brought us the first ever Super Bowl victory... maybe more of us should overlook Hurts' limitations as he was just as responsible as Foles, for the Eagles winning their second Super Bowl victory.   I, for one, will be far less critical of Hurts moving forward.  He's going to have bad days in the coming season and beyond... but with that hardware in the trophy case, I think a little more grace should be offered.  He was nearly perfect in the Super Bowl... both years.  Bad fumble in the first one.  Not a great INT in the second... but the rest of the resume should make up for those shortcomings.  After all, the Eagles did build a 10 point lead even after that fumble in the first Super Bowl, and in the second one... well, the Chiefs never had a chance.

Nah, they are straight average annual salaries

If that's the case, then Milton's number is definitely low. Baun and Becton might be close if they take a team-friendly deal to stay here, but I don't think Milton is nearly as willing to do that.

Their lineup and bullpen have been the issues and neither is significantly better and maybe not better at all.

It's really hard to get excited about them right now. You know their bats are going to get hot and it's going to be fun to watch them eventually, but at the same time, how should we have any faith that they will just change the way they play the game and make it any further than they have the past few years. I'd be great for them to figure it out but ugh, I just feel so apathetic about the Phillies.

I don't think he should be held to just 2 games 🤷‍♂️

Yet people like to completely ignore all games before 2022 because he was officially the starter but isn't that picking and choosing 🤷‍♂️

Staley is the presumptive DC, so I think Parker is safe. I don't have an opinion on Singleton. He might be a good coach with lots of potential, or he might be Aaron Moorehead or Carson Walch, forgettable and largely benefitting from the talented players in their position group.

Well, given what we saw from our DBs this year, I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt until we see a problem in the future.  So far... its all good from him.  He did also coach Justin Simmons and Patrick Surtain.  That's pretty good.  Or maybe he's just a lucky guy.  🤷‍♂️

Will this help them in the playoffs when their bats go ice cold for 3 straight games in a series?  Because that’s the only consistent thing I see from this "run it back” squad for 3 straight years.

Bullpens are like hockey goaltenders, never know what you'll get year to year.

They almost have to be better than what we saw in last year's playoffs.

The lineup is fine, they were 5th in ML scoring. 8th in RC+.  Do need to become more patient at the plate.

Help is on the way, this summer or next year in Crawford, Miller, maybe Rincones.

How should we trust their lineup though? It's essentially the same lineup that's gone ice cold when it matters. Like clockwork. They get hot a few times through the year but you can just feel it coming on when it actually matters.

The second half of my post was in reference to Singleton. Parker is great, I'd never compare him to Aaron Moorehead.
