Playing rookies may not be the standard, partly the coaches do not trust them to perform at NFL level right away.  But we witness the success stories of the 1st two picks last draft.  Perhaps the coaches are the issues.  They have confidence on the system, their abilities to bring out the best of players, give the young players PT is a critical element to develop quality players & build strong roster.

By the way, the Eagles "tush push" was one of the questions on Jeopardy tonight.

So glad we beat them on our SB run.

Then why don't the Packers run it... or any other team for that matter with the same efficiency?   Their arguments just don't hold up.

If it's skillless and automatic, then every team should be doing it at the same rate, but they aren't.

If it's an injury risk, players should be getting hurt during it, but they aren't.

I'm not a big fan of it personally, but not for the reasons they have given.  But the more the teams around the league fuss about it, the more I like it.  They just sound like sour grapes that they can't do it as well, and can't stop it.  And those aren't reasons to ban something.

My boomer take of the day. When did stadiums decide they need to have LEDs on every flat surface they can find? Feels like it's going to be nonstop assault on your eyes. The worst part about this, much like the Eagles and Phillies "bigger" scoreboards is that the new LED screens are going to be used primarily for rotating ads and brining even more revenue to the Phillies. They REALLY need those awful IBX sleeve patches to make ends meet.

Also, the advertising in the stadium has reached a grotesque level. The State Farm logo has now taken over the entire section of center field and now the angled wall that extends so many hits to extra bases or inside the park HRs, now has a name.

You answered your own question in the sentence that followed.   They don't care about your eyes, they care about the bottom line.

If the tush push is to be attacked, it should be from the perspective that it’s not a football play.  Argue that it’s more rugby or something.  Pushing a player from another player isn’t football.  Not sure if I do or don’t agree, but that’s the argument to make.

Arguing that it’s unskilled or automatic is ridiculous.  Falling on a football is unskilled.  Field goals under 30 yards are automatic.  You don’t ban those things.  That’s just sour grapes.

Cooper DeJean training along side Pat Surtain II. Soak in everything you can and bring it back.

Did he juar get word of a trade to Patriots that is about to go down?

His logic sucks. There is no skill involved in the spike or kneel down, so where is the proposal to ban those plays? The Tush Push is at least, a valid attempt to advance the ball forward, which is what football is all about in simplistic terms.

Maybe that Memphis fired their head coach.

I love how patient Cooper is, how long he waits for the receiver’s move.

This secondary has a chance to be special. Just need that one elite type safety. I still want d-line round 1 but would be fine there with even a small trade up for Starks. He seems like a perfect fit for Vic. The second round guys are ok if you can't miss out on a d-lineman round 1. Watts, Winston are the two I'm looking at.

No. I think he read a rumor about "broke Lurie and disgruntled Sirianni."

I like the UCLA edge we are bringing in for a visit. Nice prospect with a little more size and length to add to the room.

DeJean and Surtain humbling us mere mortals.  Awesome to watch.

It’s gonna be real interesting to see how many coward owners there will be with the vote next week for banning the tush push. I think there will be more than expected that won’t publicly push for it like Murphy did but will try to quietly vote against it.

Don't think it'll get more than 10, probably not even that. It didn't have support last year and nothing really has changed. And the reasons for it about being for player safety is not backed up by evidence. Certainly won't come close to 24.

How stupid was that

If you want to re-live the season...

At 32, if they can snag Donovan Ezeiruaku, I think they would be ecstatic.  I like the first round safeties but I think they should continue with what brought them and focus on the lines.

Ban the shove and you have to ban the regular QB sneak also. Literally the same play, but one has people pushing from behind the other doesn't.

We also ran the normal QB sneak with wentz and foles just as easily as we do the brotherly shove (a much better name than tush push).

No argument holds up. "Pushing players isn't football" ok i better see that same energy when a RB gets stopped and the OL push him another 5 yards. "No skill" same amount of skill as a regular sneak. "Injuries!!!" Which ones, Chris Jones who for some reason decided to lay parallel to a group of 300+ pound men who are about to drive all of their weight forward at once?

Not a single argument holds any water, if this motion passes bet that this season the eagles will be super petty and on the lookout for any little thing to nitpick at next year's owners meeting. I don't think it'll get even close to passing for that reason, it's a slippery slope and teams know it
