They also talk about DT Norman-Lott whom I like quite a bit. Could be a solid fall back option to Nolen.

Agreed 100%

I kinda figured Steen would just take that job, but I wonder if the Eagles don’t have much confidence in him. If they don’t I really don’t mind the idea of grabbing a RG at 32, it’s something I hadn’t thought of much cause I just assume it’ll be a DL at 32. But it’s an interesting thought & makes sense to do it

The key word is "wonder” since we are on the outside looking in.

Since he posted that, I believe the tush push is safe for another year.

But, the intense meeting with McVay is a little surprising. McVay was so supportive of Siri prior to the super bowl. Id expect him to respect what the eagles have done.

I just wish there was some required burden of proof. In the end, its as easy as having enough sore losers stomping their feet and yelling "thats not fair!" to get the play outlawed.

They argue about the chance for injury, which isnt supported by stats. They argue that its not a skill, yet no other team can do it as well as the eagles, so thats not supported by fact. They dont have a good argument. There is nothing they can prove to logically outlaw the play. But some day, whether its this year or another year or 2 down the line, it seems like there will be enough whiny babies to just get rid of the play because of their temper tantrums, and thats all it takes. That shouldnt be possible in a serious league.

If they’re going to outlaw it, it needs to be part of a bigger umbrella that includes banning pushing offensive players (which used to be a rule) or something more narrow like banning the immediate pushing of a player who takes a snap from under center.

And a good one it is.

A snapshot take rather than a fair one.

With a non-random F Stop.

That depends whether the photo is in focus.

That’s the hard part about predicting this draft for the Eagles. We know where they would like to have succession plans at, there’s no clear holes on the roster, we know where there’s depth needed, but we don’t know how comfortable Eagles feel about these young guys (Ringo, Brown, Steen) stepping into starting roles. Because I could see a CB or S being the pick just as well at 32. The looming potential Goedert trade makes things interesting too. I’m a big advocate for Mason Taylor out of LSU, if Eagles draft him I’ll be ecstatic

The term 'article' is getting used more loosely now.

Fair enough.  Bleeding Green Nation structurally sets up their website to address that..

Yeah, but this song about a crystal ball is so much better than the crappy Def Leppard song about a photograph

Woaaaah don’t talk ish about that song, great song

A single moment?

I too would be ecstatic to see Taylor as an Eagles pick … with Jackson Hawes as a TE double dip on Day 3.

I get lost in the mid rounds because I’m so out of touch with the depth of this draft.  First 5 there i really like, after that it’s a crap shoot.

I wouldn’t speak in absolutes, sometimes it’s a great way to judge one.

I guess it depends on the perspective. If youre viewing those years on a timeline from the dinosaurs to now, then 3 years is equal to an unfathomably small fraction of a second in time.

If you want to support your Jordan Davis is a very good player argument, then you might start even back before the dinosaurs.

Ahh, yes. Now it makes sense.

I think he’s very good at his role, the run D is noticeably better when he’s on the field.  The issues is we’ve only seen brief and fleeting flashes of what he could be.  He’s a hard one to pin a value…while no position is ‘easy to replace’.  A run stopping NT is one of the easier positions to fill for not a lot of money.  It will be interesting to see what happens with him contract wise.  I anticipate they will pick up his option and let him play it out.

The amazing thing is that I don't think anyone has said Davis isn't good when he is on the field.

When he is on the field is the issue. Most of the year he got like 12 snaps a game.

Tricky situation when it becomes time to negotiate that next contract.  How do you pay for that level of talent with that small of a role?

This is why they won't ban it. It's a slippery slope to pushing offensive players in general and every team benefits from that, so they aren't going to want it taken away

I think for a bit just about everyone was down on him not being visible…once the D really settled in and week 10 came around I think many saw where his value was though. We all trashed him the first half of the season though.

Okay I’ll bite.  For you and your better half do you believe you will never have better sex than you have had historically?

Life is all about evolving and growing.  For both my better half and I independently 2023 was the absolute best year of our individual lives … and we were respectively 75 and 80 years old that year.

To be fair and balanced 2024 was an all time horrible year for her.

There is a good reason why the wording of a financial investment prospectus says, "Past performance is no guarantee of future results."

But, that phrase contains a second meaning, too … Don't discount an investment simply because it's done poorly recently. It could improve. "Past performance is no guarantee of future results."

I kinda thought the Luvu stuff would be the straw that broke the camel’s back. I’m sure that was embarrassing for the league.

That's like banning drive thrus because a single drunk driver crashed through the side of a restaurant repeatedly.

The Tush Push wasn't to blame for Luvu jumping offsides repeatedly.  It was him trying to time the snap and failing miserably.  The fairer thing would be to penalize multiple offsides in a row more severely.
